Marketplace Seller's Guide

Buy.com Marketplace makes it easy to list and sell your products on Buy.com.

Currently, Buy.com is accepting registration for new business sellers on our Marketplace. A tax ID, valid credit card and checking account information for your payments is required to complete registration application.

Seller Fees
There are no fees for listing your items on Buy.com. When an item is sold, sellers pay a commission of $.99 per item plus a percentage of the total sales price plus shipping.

Listing Your Product
All approved sellers can list their products on Buy.com product pages. Buy.com Marketplace offers two options for sellers to list their products.

1. List a Single Item: Sellers will list products one at a time by using the link in their seller account called List an Item.

2. List in Bulk: Sellers are able to bulk load listings through their seller account by clicking on the link Upload Listing, Shipment, Cancellation, and Return Batch files .

Filling an Order
Buy.com Marketplace sellers are required to ship items to buyers within two business days of receiving their order. When an item is sold, the seller receives a notification email containing the buyers shipping information. Sellers can also monitor their seller account for new orders.
Order Confirmation
Sellers are required to confirm with us once they have shipped an order to a seller. They do this from within their seller account (inside their MyAccount) by clicking the appropriate checkbox in each order line as the items are shipped. If a seller doesn't confirm that they have shipped an item within 2 business days the order will be considered cancelled and no commission will be paid. We ask that sellers who are unable to fulfill their orders contact buyers regarding the cancellation of an order.
Shipping Options
Sellers at Buy.com are required to ship all products via a standard shipping method with a level of service at least equal to U.S. Postal Service Media Mail. Shipments sent via standard shipping are expected to arrive in the buyer's hands within 4-14 business days from the date of purchase.

Sellers can offer buyers expedited shipping. If a buyer selects expedited shipping, the order must arrive within 3 - 6 business days from the order purchase date.


Shipping Credit
Sellers are given a shipping credit for each item sold, which should be enough to cover the seller's shipping charges in most cases. However, these credits may not be enough to cover heavy or oversized items. Sellers can adjust their item price to make up any difference in cost between the shipping credit and their shipping cost. Either way, the shipper must ship the product to the seller via the method of shipping that the buyer selected regardless of whether the shipping credit covers the cost.

Packaging
Sellers must ship all orders in packaging that is secure enough to minimize the chance of damage during shipping. Both the shipping address and the return address must be printed legibly on every package. Every package must also include the packing slip, which Buy.com includes in each order notification email.
Refunding Buyers
After a seller has confirmed shipment of an item, the seller always has the option to give either a full refund or a partial refund to a buyer. There is no limitation on the number of partial refunds but refunds cannot exceed the amount of the order. Sellers are welcome to refund a buyer up to 60 days after the order date. Buy.com only refunds seller fees to the seller if the seller issues a full refund to a buyer.
Seller Payments
Buy.com Marketplace pays sellers on the 1,8,16 and 22 of the month. Payment will be made on the following business day if these dates fall on a weekend or holiday. Payments are made via ACH transfer and all sellers in Buy.com's Marketplace are required to have a valid US Bank account that will accept these payments. The payment period is closed one business day prior to these dates. All orders marked as shipped and/or refunds made against orders during the pay period will be included in this payment. Sellers must have a positive balance in their seller account to qualify for that period.
Buyer Satisfaction
Our customers have come to expect great service from Buy.com and we protect that expectation with the Buy.com Buyer Guarantee, which ensures that our buyers receive their orders as promised. Sellers may be required to submit proof of shipment if a buyer makes a Guarantee claim against a seller.
Seller Feedback
Our Marketplace website posts feedback from our buyers regarding their experiences with our sellers. We will only edit feedback for profanity, or in instances where buyers have left personally identifying information. We do not remove buyer feedback simply because it reflects negatively on your seller review score, please work to resolve any issues with your buyers.
Dispute Resolution
If a seller follows the Buy.com Marketplace Participation Agreement when listing, selling and shipping their item and, can document shipment to the customer or that the buyer received the correct item, Buy.com usually does not hold the seller responsible for the reimbursement of the claim. Otherwise, Buy.com will usually debit the reimbursement for the claim from the seller's account.


When a Guarantee Claim or chargeback is submitted by a buyer Buy.com will contact the seller for any relevant information regarding the claim. The seller has two business days to respond to the claim with requested information. If a seller does not respond their account will be debited for the claim. When appropriate, Buy.com will review all relevant details associated with an Guarantee claim or Chargeback for both the seller and buyer involved in the claim. This may include, but is not limited to, account history, comments regarding the Guarantee claim or Chargeback, shipping and tracking information, and other relevant details.
