Starting out in Buffalo in the late eighties, the Goo Goo Dolls are definitely not an overnight success. Spending years crafting their unique punk-rock/pop sound, they started recieving the attention of critics with the single "We Are The Normal" off of "Superstar Carwash." Although this gained some airplay it wouldn't be until their fifth album "A Boy Named Goo" before they came into the mainstream with the acoustic single "Name." Now on their sixth album, the Goo Goo Dolls have brought a new subtlety to their music with orchestration and more acoustic guitars while still remaing faithful to their punk rock roots.
