Surprisingly, such is not the case, and the concept of two men pairing up to skate has quite a different intention than, let's say, Kevin James and Adam Sandler's fake marriage in I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. read the full review

To a film critic, the mainstream is like a ravenous shark with a defective hypothalamus. As long as Hollywood seeds the entertainment waters with chum, the masses will feed and feed until their dead, lifeless eyes roll back in their head. Examples of this baffling binge and purge are released every year -- inexplicable, unexplainable crowd-pleasers like Wild Hogs, Norbit, and Night at the Museum. Now comes Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, the even louder, more obnoxious sequel to Dreamworks' loud, obnoxious CG original. This is a film about more: More already dated pop culture references, more digitally-rendered eye candy, more abject pandering to a seemingly easy-to-satisfy demographic. read the full review

It's no stretch to call Adam McKay's Step Brothers the year's stupidest film. Part of me feels bad labeling it as such, but then I remember that no movie boasting scenes of a grown man licking dog feces really wants to be taken seriously on any level. And yet, I'd be lying if I told you Brothers didn't make me laugh. read the full review

Wilk - Cinema Blend DVD Reviews Published on: 10/1/2008 8:25 PM | | I also have no real problems with David Schwimmer's direction in his directorial debut. I do, however, have a problem with the title of the movie. Why' Well, Pegg isn't exactly fat. He's barely even overweight. If anything, the Brit has a slight beer belly, most likely due to his various pub visits in Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. Calling Pegg fat is like calling Ben Affleck of good actor or a box office success. read the full review

Back in 1990, Home Alone was a movie sensation. Believe it or not, it earned more than $285 million during its theatrical release, more than Monsters, Inc., Raiders of the Lost Ark, and The Incredibles. While those films will surely endure, Home Alone has since turned into the butt of numerous jokes. Indeed, Home Alone is now the fallback film for anyone looking to pinpoint the decline of cinema as art. read the full review

Take the second-tier crew from both Adam Sandler's posse (Allen Covert, Peter Dante) and Judd Apatow's regulars (Jonah Hill, Justin Long) and throw them together in a comedic spin on a Wild Kingdom type set and what do you get? A few chuckles rolled in with a lot of gross-out humor. Steve Zahn headlines the directorial debut of Joe Dirt screenwriter Fred Wolf, playing Peter Gaulke, the stoner son of a famous Crocodile Hunter-like dad whose show Strange Wilderness was once a mega-hit. After dad died and Peter took over, things went downhill, with Peter turning in episodes punctuated by absurd narration and questionable nature. read the full review
