 | | 9. Clapton Eric and Steve Winwood-Live Madison Square Garden | | | Starring: Eric Clapton Steve Winwood | | Format: DVD Release Date: 5/19/2009 | | Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood - Live From Madison Square Garden - DVD Review By: Paul Roy - Blogcritics.org Reviews Published on: 7/11/2009 2:54 PM | | Going back four decades ago, Clapton was part of the short-lived "super-group" called Blind Faith, whose other members included Steve Winwood, Ginger Baker, and Rick Gretch. The band was only together long enough to release one self-titled album in 1969 before quickly dissolving later that same year after a brief tour. Winwood and Clapton's musical paths would not cross again until the two performed a blistering set of Blind Faith classics at the 2007 Crossroads Festival. It was so well received — and they enjoyed playing together again so much — that they decided to do a run of concerts together last February, at New York's Madison Square Garden. This excellent new concert DVD is the result of that magnificent collaboration. read the full review | |

His first major comedy special and DVD was 2006’s Russell Peters: Outsourced. He returns with his newest DVD, Russell Peters: Red, White and Brown, taken from a show he performed at Madison Square Garden in 2009. Russell Peters' comedy is a mix of standard stand-up routines and his take on ethnicity in the world. Born in Canada to Indian parents, Peters began his comedy career focusing on the traits and habits of people from an Indian culture. He then proceeded to take aim at all the major ethnic stereotypes and point out the inherent humor in every culture. read the full review | |
