Incredible Hulk (Widescreen) | | | Starring: Liv Tyler Tim Roth Director: Louis Leterrier | | Format: DVD Release Date: 4/14/2009 | | The Incredible Hulk - DVD Review By: Ed Perkis - Cinema Blend DVD Reviews Published on: 10/20/2008 8:20 PM | | Reacting to the criticism that 2003's Hulk was too much "Bruce Banner Think" and not enough "Hulk Smash!" director Louis Leterrier crafts a nice compromise between the two. Edward Norton's Banner thinks and worries and tries to keep things under control until The Hulk comes out and starts picking up jeeps, tossing scrap metal at helicopters, and swatting away bullets and tranq syringes like so many gnats. The result doesn't stand up with the epic stories of Bruce Wayne and Tony Stark, but it's a nice way to kill two hours. read the full review

Battlestar Galactica 2004-Season 4.5 | | | Starring: Edward James Olmos Mary McDonnell | | Format: DVD Release Date: 7/28/2009 | | Battlestar Galactica - Season 4.5 - DVD Review By: Blake Matthews - Blogcritics.org Reviews Published on: 7/29/2009 12:25 PM | | The story behind Battlestar Galactica is fairly simple. The story takes place in a distant part of the universe, where a civilization of humans live on planets that are known as the Twelve Colonies. For 40 years, the colonies have had an armistice with the Cylons, a cybernetic race that, at the beginning of the series, launches a sneak attack on the colonies, wiping out most of the populations of each planet. The Galactica is the only military ship to survive the attacks because it was considered past its prime and was in the process of being decommissioned when the Cylons launched their strikes. Under the leadership of Commander Adama the Galactica takes up the task of leading a fugitive fleet of survivors to a legendary refuge known as Earth. read the full review

The first rule of Fight Club is "Do not talk about Fight Club." So I'm breaking the rule. I figured you'd want to hear about it. Invoking memories of The Matrix, 12 Monkeys, Crash, and American Beauty, Fight Club has had a lot of hype behind it for close to a year now. Is it deserved? I'm still trying to figure that one out. I saw the film 6 hours ago. I liked what I saw. I'm just not sure what I saw any more. Fight Club is the story of Jack (Edward Norton), a mild-mannered day-job schlub/insomniac. To combat his lack of sleep, Jack takes comfort in various support groups for ailments he doesn't have, where he finds a sudden freedom from life's pressures, surrounded by people on the verge of recovery or the verge of death. read the full review

Decades after the last shot was fired, filmmakers continue to find intriguing narrative passages into WWII. The latest, Edward Zwick's Defiance, tells the true story of the Bielskis, three Jewish brothers who, in 1941, avoided capture by the Germans and fled to Poland's Lipicanzia Forest. Willing to help as many fellow exiles as possible, Tuvia (Daniel Craig), Zus (Liev Schreiber), and Asael (Jamie Bell) formed what eventually came to be known as the Otriad, a mobile community that grew to encompass 1,200 Jewish refugees. The Otriad provided food, shelter, safety, and a moderate sense of stability. There were rules and guidelines, which bred harmony and conflict. read the full review
