Not the highest quality DVD player, but I could see picture quality improvement compared to my older Sony DVD player that didn't upconvert.

I bought this DVD player for one reason only, it can easily be made region free. It barely worked out of the box and quickly broke. I called up Phillips and they sent me another one. I have had no problems since. If you are looking for a region free player, get this one. Google how to unlock it. It is so easy a caveman could do it. If you just need an up-converter, buy another brand or pray that it doesn't break after 90 days.

Bought this because my stepdad has the same brand different series. Best Function is that the DVD stays where it left off if you pause it for to long, turn it off, or even take it out!
Set-up was pretty easy and I can't say I've had any problems yet, but it's still new.
