4.7 of 5 Not Bad, Especially For The Money 8/22/2010
AT from San Diego, CA
This suction cup dash mat worked with my Droid Eris after buying a suction cup holder and tweaking the configuration a bit. I needed to find a semi flat spot to put it in and bend the suction cup's flexible are all the way back to counter-balance against the phone. But... it all worked out in the end. It just took some tweaking. I would only recommend this mat if you have a fairly flat place to put it. If it curves down, well, you might be out of luck as your device might tip over all the time.

4.7 of 5 Works great with the right car. 8/22/2010
Elsie from Bellevue, WA
Came quickly and securely packaged. Have tried on four vehicles with 75% success. Corolla has a fairly flat dash with some irregularities, so the pad does not rest all the way to the edge. Secure for regular driving, but if you make a sudden move I'm not so sure it wouldn't fly around. Rock solid on my Odyssey. My MB station wagon dash is slanted, and pad is not very secure. Check size and slant of your dash before you buy-if it fits you won't be sorry.

5 of 5 Perfect Blend of Function and Form 8/22/2010
squid from Tampa FL
Having used just about every possible mounting device for my GPS, this one, clearly, is my first choice. More portable and easier to use than the windshield mount and the beanbag was not only UGLY, but also started to leave little pieces of the "sticky foam" bottom all over the dash. This is low profile; almost invisible and sticks to my soft vinyl dash like super glue. After a months use, I love this mat.

2.7 of 5 Worked great until it ripped and disintegrated 8/21/2010
Disappointed from Bothell, WA
The sticky pad worked great until it developed a small rip around the solid center mounting point and it quickly spread the full length of the pad. Then it became useless. I sent e-mail to HandStands from their site and have yet to hear a response (over 2 weeks).

5 of 5 Grippy product securely holds my GPS & iPhone 8/20/2010
Ric Ferris from Tucson, AZ
Nicely made, and very grippy surface. Holds my fairly large (5") GPS well, and I use another one to hold my iPhone, too.

5 of 5 Great Deal, Very Functional 8/20/2010
JPH from Pittsburgh, PA
I bought two of these, one for me and one for my wife. We both recently purchased new navigation units (a Magellan and a Garmin) and the gel pad works great with both. I was initially concerned that the suction cup on the GPS mount would not adhere well to the disk on the gel pad, however it makes a very solid suction and doesn't budge. This is definitely worth the money and much better than using the windshield mount.

4.3 of 5 Works great....most of the time 8/20/2010
A customer from Houston, TX
This pad works great in 3 out of the 4 cars we tried it in (03 Corolla, 03 Jetta, 10 Miata). On the 06 Tacoma Truck, due to the curved shape of the dash and the stabilizing cross pattern around the suction cup pad on this product it cannot hold the weight of my gps unit on corners or turns. Many factors (curved dash, short dash, high slant of windshield, shape of GPS mounting arm, rigidity of pad) seem to be causing the problem and in all other installations this product works great. Very satisfied with the product overall. It should work in almost any car that doesnt have a very short curved dash like my truck.

5 of 5 Great for TomTom XXL540 8/18/2010
Jack from Concord, NC
HandStands GPS Sticky Pad holds my TomTom XXL540 great. I had purchased the TomTom dash mount and it was too stiff and would not conform to the contours of my dashboard. The high beanbag type collar was too tall and interfered with the GPS unit if I tried to use it in the narrower configuration. The HandStands GPS Sticky Pad is very flexible so it does conform the contours of my dashboard and it is so thin there is not problem with interfering with the GPS unit. I also had a problem with the HandStands GPS Sticky Pad as received via the mail, called HandStands and they were extremely courteous and sent me a replacement unit. Very happy.

5 of 5 VERY PLEASED 8/18/2010
A different BOB in from St Petersburg, FL
It sticks like glue to the top of my dash, yet lifts right off when not in use. Much better than trying to stick the GPS mount onto the windshield of my 2011 Sonata.

5 of 5 Great Value 8/18/2010
Mike from Long Island, New York
This is a much better position for my GPS and I don't have to worry about the suction cup letting loose from my windshield, which has happened a few times. Nothing like playing catch at 60 mph or trying to pick it up from the floor. Very satisfied with the product. It uses the same windshield mount, you just have to twist the mount around.

5 of 5 A Better Choice 8/18/2010
John from Kingston, OK
This unit was purchased with the intention for installation in my vehicle while the much more expensive Garmin mount was to be moved from my vehicle to my wife's new vehicle. However the High Stands 10018LS model ended up in the new car. It provides a much lower profile, less distraction, conforms well to the form of the dash and can be left in place when the GPS unit is removed. As with any sticky pad product it is important to have a clean surface for mounting (including removal of any silicones, protectants and antistatic compounds on dash pads). When done correctly this unit is exceptionally stable, a better low profile depending on your GPS arm/mount and does an outstanding job overall. It is also easy to clean if required. We are ordering more of these units to replace more expensive, bulky and less servicable ones.

5 of 5 Works Great 8/18/2010
A customer from Somewhere in PA
Just put it on a some what flat surface on the dash, mount your GPS, and you're good to go. Stays in place even when you go around curves or have a sudden stop. Bonus: It is flexible enough to leave the GPS on it and put the whole thing in your glove box between trips.

5 of 5 Excellent Item! 8/18/2010
Ivan from Culpeper, VA
Outstanding! This is perfect for does not so leveled dash boards in car/trucks. Also is thin enough not to take away from your vision like beanbags do. I highly recommend this item!

5 of 5 Saved My Life! 8/18/2010
Fireball from Lake Wylie, SC
This mat works great! Our gps used to be held in place (ha!) by a beanbag dash mount. It slid back and forth or even off the dash every time I turned. So annoying and dangerous. I'd have to turn with one hand on the wheel and one hand on the gps. This mat does hold the gps in place. It's so nice to not have to worry with it. Everyone should get one for their car. It can save your life too!

3 of 5 Just a rubber mat. 6/21/2010
Sam from Preston, CT
This is just a rubber mat that you stick on your dash. There is no arm or way to attach to your GPS if you're looking to use this as a replacement.

5 of 5 IT WORKS GREAT. JUST BE SURE TO... 6/18/2010
Engineer 10388 from Raleigh, NC
1. Prepare your dash. It must be clean, free of dust, and not have any ArmourAll, Vinylex, or similar "protectant" at the chosen mounting location. 2. Ditto for the suction cup on your GPS. Even a little dust can greatly reduce its holding power. 3. Ditto for the Sticky Pad itself. If it gets dusty wash it off with a mild solution of JOY or DAWN liquid dish detergent then rinse well and let it air dry (towels or paper towels leave lint, which will mess up its static coefficient of friction). Follow these directions and your GPS will stay firmly in place unless you have a wreck, almost as if glued down! If you need to put the GPS out of sight to remove the temptation of possible theft, then release its suction cup mount instead of taking the Sticky Pad off the dash, as doing the latter will inevitably get dust on its bottom and reduce holding power. It's amazing how well this product works with a little care.

2.3 of 5 Sticky doesn't stick 5/27/2010
Bob from St Petersburg, FL
My GPS stuck to the pad without any difficulty, but the pad itself slides all over the dashboard. I have a 2010 Prius and if I stick the pad up into the console recess I can get it to stabilize and not fall off the dash every time I turn a corner. Not worth the price and too cheap to bother returning.

1.7 of 5 Doesn't Work 5/19/2010
Paul from Coatesville PA
I bought 2 and can not get them to work. I tried on 3 different cars. They do not stick and the GPS tips over? I am not the smartest person but I have had no luck. I love most of the products on get here but this doesn't work for me.

5 of 5 It's just great 5/19/2010
cer from Pittsburgh,PA
I bought this item about 2 months ago. When it arrived it was packed in a stiff plastic package that made me think that it was a flat and would not adhere to my contoured dashboard. Boy was I wrong. Once you take it out of the package you realize that it is flexible, and adheres to any dashboard that you put it on. My Garmin Nuvi is so much nicer to use on the dashboard than on the window. I may be purchasing more of this item as a gift for a friend. I highly recommend it to you.

5 of 5 Great product 4/30/2010
Dan from St. Louis, MO
I have a VW and the windshield mount kept the GPS a little too far away. This product is just the ticket. I have had to clean a little more frequently than I would have expected, springtime here in the midwest has a lot of air borne pollen and such. Occasionally, the edge will lift a little causing the GPS to wobble some, but that usually is when dust has gotten between the mount and the dash. Overall, very happy with this product.

5 of 5 This is a great mount 4/27/2010
D.L. from Houston, TX
It holds my Garmin Nuvi 750 with no problem. It is much more convenient than the windshield mount. I have a late model Chevy Silverado P/U and the dash is certainly not flat, but this mount has no issue with that at all! I love it.

5 of 5 Better Alternative to Bean Bag Base 4/26/2010
Demitrius from Laguna Niguel CA
I prefer to have my TomTom GPS mounted in the center but CA law prohibits me from mounting my GPS to the center windshield. However, mounting it to the center dashboard is okay. I did not want to glue the disc included with my GPS down to my dash. And those bean bag bases did not appeal me. I think they're big and ugly (reminds me of a neck pillow). This GPS Sticky Pad is the perfect solution! It sticks like crazy without any adhesive. No way is this thing gonna slide. It's a low profile, so it does not stick up. And if you have a black dashboard it almost looks like it's a part of the car. Now I can mount my TomTom GPS right where I want it and later when I sell my car I can just lift off this Sticky Pad without leaving any marks behind. Plus, if I ever need to, I can use it in another car temporarily. As an aside, it also makes a perfect base for my Joby tripod to video record myself driving down the road while I shoot a Facebook video to all my friends. Nice!

5 of 5 Many options 4/18/2010
from Oneida, NY
I did not want to put my TomTom on the windshield or use a "permanent" base pad on the dash that the gps mount suction cup could adhere to. This item solves all my problems. It works on the dash of both my cars (I put the gps in whichever one I am using). I will be on vacation soon and renting a car in a state where I will be doing much sightseeing. I plan to take my gps and this sticky pad with me. And the price? Less than half of similiar products. I paid under $10 (free shipping) at Buy.com.

5 of 5 The best GPS mount I've ever used 4/8/2010
Marty from Scranton, PA
Sticks like glue with no residue, securely handles my Garmin GPS and standard suction mount, easily re-positionable, storage is a snap. I have used it on three long trips so far and it has exceeded all my expectations. I'm buying two more for family members.

5 of 5 Vice-like grip, easy to remove 3/22/2010
Mac from Lafayette, OR
The HandStands GPS Sticky Pad holds my TomTom 340S under all tested conditions. The pad won't shift or slide under even extreme cornering or braking conditions, yet it peels right off of your dash. I've used HandStands pads for my phone before and they work amazingly well, so I was excited to find this item. Buy.com had a great price compared to those beanbag anchors and this works better than hooking it to the windshield. Definitely recommended for all with a fairly flat dash. Jo (below) is right, you have to keep the dust off or it loses its stick. The stick can be restored by cleaning.

2.3 of 5 Silicone cracked within a month! 2/26/2010
Jo from San Diego, CA
Weird. I submitted a review over a month ago, but it never got published. Let's see if it works this time... otherwise, something seems fishy that all the reviews are 5 stars, and only my review was not published. I had a long review detailing my experience, but in case this doesn't get published again, I'll just keep it short. The silicone cracked (weird) in a month. I was really disappointed and was hoping that this would work better for me, but it didn't. I think because it's so lightweight, my gps loses grip over time (air gets into the suction cup when you move it around over time). I kept my gps and this stand in the glove compartment each time , so i'm sure it did'nt crack from being in the sun. I also kept the liner on it wen it was in the glove compartment, but dust sticks onto the underside of it really easily... so you'll have to end up washing it or spraying it with windex (per the instructions). Really hoped this would work for me... I bought another beanbag gps mount originally, and thought it was a bit heavy and bulky. So I got this one for about 10 bucks, too bad it totally BROKE on me. The silicone just started cracking in several places, and eventually a huge chunk fell off. SO WEIRD. I recommend the Nav-mat portable gps mount. It's way bulkier and heavier, but it doenst move even when you slam on the brakes. And another advantage is that the underside doesn't attract dust the way the handstands one does. I've had mine for awhile, and threw it around my house when I was using my handstands one. When handstands one broke, this one worked just as well as it did when i first got it and i've never had to clean the underside.

5 of 5 Very good product! 2/4/2010
Yal from New York
Pretty good product. Sticks like glue! Easily removes. Very impressed. Works on my slightly pebbled vinyl dash on my Subaru too! Don't suction cup your GPS to the window, suction it to this instead!!! For the price this thing should be sold out, its that good! Its much cheaper, better and aesthetically pleasing than the ugly Garmin beanbag mount (yeah I said it! LOL) My GPS is a Garmin 255W with suction cup mount.

5 of 5 works perfectly with my Garmin 755T 1/11/2010
from San Diego CA
Very stable. No sliding whatsover. Small and flat enough to blend in with dashboard. I can put on and take off my Garmin without taking the GPS mount off from the pad, but at the same time the pad can be lifted out easily if needed (eg. for car wash). Highly recommended.
