Love this product!!! Fast and responsive. Feature rich. WIFI is fast.The color and sound is amazing. The best part is...no fruit on it. Going to ordr the AV dock and rent some HD movies. Can't get any easier then that. Download a movie, hit play. No video store...redbox. One slick product.

I just want to point out that although the Zune HD appears to be a very worthy alternative to an iPod Touch, that Microsoft has left out one important feature. The Zune HD is incompatible with Macs. If you want to give this as a gift, you need to be certain the recipient does not own or is planning to buy a Mac. This is too bad!
Microsoft claims that the Zune HD IS compatible with Macs but in small writing it says that it requires you to run Windows in Apple's Boot Camp. So if you want to get a Zune HD to work on a Mac, you have to buy a copy of Windows and ReBoot your Mac into Windows everytime you want to sync your Zune HD. Um, that is ridiculous.
There are 1000 times more apps for the iPod Touch than the Zune.

5 of 5 BEST TOUCH PLAYER YOU CAN BUY RIGHT NOW 9/16/2009

It is fast, it is beautiful, surprisingly lightweight but solid, and the device and screen are the perfect size. First off, the new Zune 4.0 software is awesome, it is the upgrade from 3.0. My computer is over 6 years old, 1 gig of ram, and the Zune software installs and runs without issue and looks sweet.
Connected my Zune HD, device software updated itself, and I was up and running.
The display is amazing, it looks so clear, crisp, and bright. Then, the graphical interface. It just works. Learning curve - I don't think so, the menu navigation feels right, and you get the hang of it within seconds.
Another shocker is the speed. The flip feature (tilt device sideways for landscape view) is instantaneous. I couldn't believe it, so I loaded more and more albums, photos, and video, and it still flies.
HD radio? YES and it is a great feature to have. Many people have been saying, "HD radio is not a selling point". Wow, maybe not, but when you have it, you use it. Even with all of my music, I just want radio sometimes.
Internet is fast. Mobile GMAIL runs and looks nice. The keyboard works well. Kind of small, but you just get the hang of it and you are good to go. If you have monster fingers, use a stylus.
Zune Marketplace has some free apps and games available right now. I downloaded them and they all look stunning. The Weather app is simple but gorgeous and hopefully any new apps will follow that design template. Games are 3D and go counter to the flash-obvious games on the iPod touch, which remind me of cartoons. Need more apps, but they will come. iPod touch had no apps at release, they came later. By the way, I think the iPod touch is an awesome innovative player, but right now, right here, the ZUNE HD is the next level. Why? OLED, Tegra Graphics, HD Radio, and a more streamlined device to name a few.
WiFi is fast. It found the closest network automatically.
Music quality is second to none. Great sound.
I also love how the album art turns into a screensaver when listening.
Please try one out if you are undecided.
I heard BestBuy in my area is out of stock. On-line ordering also showed out of stock on the 14th.
Get this if you can, because they will be in short supply come the holidays. Amazing. Great job Microsoft. Keep it up! Windows 7, now this. Well done!
