Aluratek Cincecam 720P High Def Camcorder with 8MP Camera, SD Expansion Card Slot and Auto YouTube Upload Software - AHDVC01F

I bought this camera for a Trip to Africa. I also purchased a pair 4 Gig SDHC cards for it. The picture quality is excellent for a 5MP camera and the videos are better than expected. It's small, compact and relatively easy to use. No flash, but better than expected available light pictures. I took a lot of photos inside dimly lit buildings and they were better than with the digital flash camera when the subject was beyond flash range. The flash pictures did a better job in flash range. The videos taken in these dimly lit situations was much better than expected. The controls could be easier. To switch between video and camera, you would hit the same button switching back and forth. More than once I would take what I thought was picture, later to find that I had started a video (one ran for 29 minutes of black screen, yet the sound was interesting. A slide button to switch modes would solve this particular nuance. The camera has an auto off feature which is very desirable, but it always defaults into video mode (the real reason I bought the camera) and getting the camera back on and into camera mode takes a little time. A standby mode that just blanked the screen would be a welcome feature. This looks more like a cell phone than a camera, and I was asked to turn it off onboard aircraft more than once. BUT this actually facilitates candid shots. I would purchase again.
