5 of 5 Seems good Wednesday, April 22, 2009
thatabramswoman from St. Louis, MO

I haven't used all of the features yet and certainly not more than once just to assure myself that it did work. I thought the radio tuned adequately. I'm not looking for a stereophonic experience and didn't get one so I wasn't disappointed. I bought this strictly for emergency use. It was easy to set up. The flashlight could have been brighter but the siren is very good and with the flashing lights I think someone would be able to find me. If they wanted to of course. I had to inform Eton of my cell phone model and then they sent me the adaptor so I can charge it. It seems simple and straight forward. I'm happy. My only complaint is the case sent to put it in. It's somewhat like the glove in OJ's trial. Very tight. And don't expect to slip any spare batteries in there.

5 of 5 great product Monday, March 30, 2009
Eric from Bloomington, IL
This is a great product for the money (1/2) what can be found elsewhere. Everything seems to function (although no long term test). Register product to get cell phone charging wire (just registered today). Only thing doesn't have is ability to turn on automatically (when powered) to alert of new warning.

5 of 5 Excellent Emergency Radio! Sunday, March 29, 2009
Doobster from Vero Beach, FL
Built solid and has strong radio reception. Looks great and provides constant standby weather emergency announcements. Brings in distant radio stations very well. Allows for multi power sources-nicad; alkaline and hand crank. I'm glad I bought it!

4 of 5 Eton American Red Cross FR405 Emergency Radio Sunday, March 29, 2009
Jim from Pittsburgh, PA
I haven't had a chance to evaluate the radio in an emergency/power outage situation yet, nor have I tried it after charging the internal rechargeables fully (overnight, approx. 10 hours) to see how long it performs on that charge. I did use it to listen to an NCAA basketball tournament game at work, and found the reception to be as good as my Sony portable, although the Sony is easier to tune because of it's digital tuner and LCD display. But I had no trouble tuning in the local AM station carrying the game on the Eton. The NOAA weather station in my area came in clear as well, I just needed to raise the antenna to receive it clearly. At that point, I had only had the radio plugged in for about 3 hours, and the batteries had not had sufficient time to charge, requiring that I use the crank a few times to listen to the whole game. The cell phone charging capability is a feature that was of great interest. The radio did not come with any cable to fit the charging port, but I have been told that one can be purchased, along with tips for various cell phone models at Radio Shack. If I can find a compatible cable and connector for my LG Chocolate, I will probably purchase one for emergency situations.

5 of 5 The Red Cross Weather radio Sunday, March 29, 2009
Mickey B. Wisehart from Hahira, GA
With three forms of power and three uses, this machine is worth is price. The added crank power, to that of AC/DC is a plus. Seven possible weather positions to choose from. We have already used it during a flash flood and tornado watch.

1 of 5 A poor performing radio Thursday, March 19, 2009
vince from trabuco, ca
I bought this radio to get the weather and recharge my cellphone when camping. The charging function is some strange power jack not the standard usb plug. So who knows where I am going to get a cable. As for the radio its performance is very poor. All bands have a lot of inference noise like the radio is poorly shielded. My Motorola FRS has a weather channel and it works but the Eton does not. I hope it is just a miss manufactured device.
