Pros:
Cheap
Little
Cons:
Bad sound quality (muddy bass regardless of speakers/headphones)
Terrible user interface (the buttons are uncomfortable, the player doesn't recognize tracks in playlists/folders, navigation is difficult)
if given another chance i'd try one of the other similar players on the market, although this device serves my needs in the gym for the moment Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 second player for brother Saturday, April 18, 2009 Justin from EL Campo, TX
This is my second player for my brother after he used mine he wanted one. What we like about it is that it uses a usb connection, as a removeable drive, to load the mp3s.
It is a nice size & uses only 1 AAA battery I use it to listen to my podcasts. Note: have some extra AAA batteries Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Inexpensive, but very good! Saturday, April 04, 2009 A returning costumer from Pensacola, FL
I was looking for a small size, AAA battery operated at least 4 GB Mp3 player that works as a USB stick as well. No extra cord needed.
This is it! I use 1000MAh rechargable batteries that goes for a whole day for me, Rock EQ mode and loud. I keep always an extra recharged one in my pocket. You don't have to throw away the whole player in case the built-in battery dies.. plus you can use it "non stop" not like my other built-in battery player that needs hours of recharging in te middle of the audio book or song. Than you need an outlet and a charger at hand too..
The only negativ is that you need to get a high quality mini-headphone in order to enjoy music which is the case with most of other players as well.

I was looking for some specific features in an mp3 player....
1. One that doubles as a USB thumb drive.
2. Has at least 2GB storage.
3. Is expandable with microSD storage.
4. Is able to play DRM content.
5. Is compatible with Audio books.
6. Resumes play where I left off after shutting off.
7. Has a self contained USB plug.
8. Is $30 or less.
This player has all these features except the expandable microSD storage. However, with 4GB of internal storage, it is still acceptable for me. The buttons and menu system are easy to figure out. It also allows you to switch USB modes which allows for easy management of files when using it as a thumb drive, while at the same time allowing use of DRM content and Audio book files. The feature that resumes play where it left off after shutting down is critical for someone who listens to audio books which have 30min, 60min or longer files. It avoids having to remember where you left off and scrolling through the long files to find that point when you turn the player back on. I've only had it for a couple of weeks, but so far, it works nicely. It's slightly bigger than a few of the other comparable models, but it is still a nice small unit that can be carried in my pocket where ever I go, and since it has almost all the features I want, it's the right unit for me. This is my first MP3 player. It is used to entertain myself while I work out at the gym and I'm really amazed by this little device.
PROS- price, memory capacity, downloads are simple, long battery life, quite durable and the small size.
CONS- navigating through the small LCD screen is confusing at first, earphones are really cheap, comes with no arm band strap.
I'd recommend this player though you'll probably end up purchasing another pr. of headphones. I bought the Sennheiser CX400's and the sound quality is sooo much better, the difference is like day and night.
