5 of 5 Great for Rhapsody to go! Friday, January 22, 2010
halenfan from Iowa

I wanted an MP3 for rhapsody, with good amount of memory, and at a good price. This fit the bill for me. Seems to be well made and sturdy for an electronic device. Installed on Win. Vista without a hitch. The radio seems to come in better than previous MP3 players I have had. The sound quality is good with an EQ that you can adjust. The only complaint I have is with the shuffle feature. I have over 1000 songs and in a 3 hour period it will repeat a song or 2, and not play other songs. A common problem with most brands of MP3 players I have found out through a Google search.

5 of 5 Look at the Fuze before buying an iPod, Zune, etc. Sunday, August 09, 2009
Don from Seaford, NY
In my opinion, the Fuze is a much better device than iPod or Zune. You are not required to use a specific app to load music (unless you want to) - drag & drop or file copy works just fine. With the latest firmware it will also play FLAC lossless audio files. The MicroSD slot will let you expand your storage as much as you like. The Fuze has excellent audio quality and Sansa is actively supporting the unit (based on the postings on their forums). They are still adding new software features to the device, so you can expect bug fixes as well as enhancements in the future. We like the Fuze so much that we now own three of them. I would recommend the Fuze to everyone without hesitation. If you buy one, be sure to read the FAQ and go through the forums. The tips and tricks found there will help you get the most from the device.

I am very happy with my choice. I used several different MP3 players for my kids but with this one and the ease of use I am glad that I chose this model and brand. Great sound and videos are ok too. Worth the money

4 of 5 Great Value Tuesday, March 17, 2009
Gary from Minnesota
Great little unit for the price. I wouldn't use it to view videos because the screen is to small. It works well with Windows media. I haven't figured out how to drop pod casts in yet. I use mine mostly for the tunes and the FM radio which has great reception. The sound on my I pod is a little bit better but not much. Excellent battery life. If it breaks I would buy it again for such a low price.

5 of 5 Sansa Fuze -- A Sansa E280 version 2 Tuesday, December 23, 2008
LBA from Freeport NY
I bought the 8gb Fuze for my wife as a holiday gift mostly for playing music after my good experience with my E280. Since I would be the one to add music and manage our music library, I didn't want a new learning curve with another machine. The Fuze uses the same external charger as the E280, as well as the same PC connection. The Fuze is Generation 2 of the Sansa E280. It starts up much quicker -- updating its database -- so changing the available music selection(s) is more streamlined. I have both the Fuze and E280 running in MSC USB mode, which means they both act like external memory. With both, of course, video and pictures have to be run through the downloadable Sansa software before uploading to player. The only shortcoming for the Fuze is that we have not been able to find a control that will allow going forward or backward in an audio selection, as we can in the E280 (though it's a rather annoying process). So if it's to be used for audio books, and you want to repeat a (missed) section of or jump forward in a selection, there doesn't seem to be any way to do it. All in all, using the Fuze has been seamless and easy, especially since I had experience with the E280. I've asked her to trade and she said "no way."

4 of 5 Setting up not very userfriendly Monday, December 22, 2008
krissyinlv from Las Vegas, NV
I have to say this MP3 is pretty complicated in some areas. I can't see someone who doesn't understand computers very being able to get help with this. My player did not come with thorough instructions, not to mention saying nothing about the "Sansa Media Converter." I would not have known about half of the instructions without extra research. I'm just saying setting this thing up is not very user friendly in my eyes. Once get through all of the "tricks" to get your media loaded, it plays wonderfully.

4 of 5 Good Value, needs to come with info for the techno Monday, December 22, 2008
H. R. from upstate NY
Having never owned a real mp3 player before I am a bit slow on the technology. This is a great player with a nice display that seems simple enough to use. The one negative for me is the lack of directions or troubleshooting suggestions. I am lost. I have had it shut off or freeze on me multiple times...no idea why. I properly tagged all my songs yet the player is still having trouble sorting a third of them properly. A bit frustrating. Overall it is easy to read, clear sound and a good value.

5 of 5 My Kiddoes Love this!! Monday, December 22, 2008
A Customer from San Antonio, Texas
After trying a bunch of 3rd rate MP3 players - I finally bought this Sandisk Fuze, WOW!!! This player is GREAT, I can sync to Media Player or just "drag-n-drop" the music I want to the player and it works flawlessly. I can even record music from an FM radio station on the player itself... And best of all, I can all of this for 1/3 the price of an iPod.

5 of 5 Nice little player with lots of features Friday, December 19, 2008

Love all the features, sound quality is great, video sync with sound is off sometimes but overall it's a great buy. Sansa needs to make the Sansa Media Converter software in a Linux version.

4 of 5 Good value but . . . Monday, December 15, 2008
A Customer from Garland, Texas
I used my e250 constantly in my car (with an FM transmitter). I upgraded to the Fuze primarily for the memory. Mostly I'm satisfied with two exceptions. First, it is hard for me to turn on and off. There's only a tiny nub on the switch for my fingernail to catch, and the spring in the spring-loaded switch is pretty strong. Second, there is only a scroll wheel for running up and down the lists. The e250 had buttons above and below the wheel for scrolling up and down. I don't like scroll wheels; I've never seen the point (and I'll add that this one is no better than the e250's, maybe a little more slippery). Buttons are faster and more accurate (when you want to move up or down only one title).

What more is there to say? This is a great MP3 player! It is the first one I bought, after much research reading reviews and asking many friends and co-workers about their various MP3 players. I love the FM radio and voice recording functions too.

4 of 5 Great Mp3 Player for a Low Price Wednesday, December 10, 2008
LaRagazza from Los Angeles, CA
For what the Fuze does it's a great value. The video feature is amazing and the sound quality is great. I've got almost 1,000 songs and several videos and photos already on mine and I still have several GBs to spare. I have had a few problems with transfers that don't "take" that I've had to transfer over twice since they don't show up or come out as garbled. Using mini-speakers with the Fuze is also probematic since you have to basically jam in the input jack as far as possible to get the full sound. A few songs have also showed up twice on the same playlist. I'm still working out the kinks but overall I'd say this is a fantastic player. I can cheaply expand the memory anytime and the Fuze is the perfect little size that fits in my pocket, purse or hand. I really didn't want to buy into the overpriced Ipod/Apple hype and now with Fuze I won't have to!

5 of 5 Very nice Thursday, October 30, 2008

I really like this MP3 player. The features/functionality of the Sansa Fuse are definitely improved over the rather similar Sansa E260 I had before, particularly the button and wheel controls on the front.

5 of 5 Just what I was looking for Saturday, October 04, 2008
A Customer from Quincy, IL
I had been using an iRiver with Rhapsody to go and I was always having trouble with it. I bought my wife one of the really small Sansa's and knew at once that I had to have one. The Sansa works perfect with Rhapsody and I really like how you can load channels on it and it rotates the songs on the Sansa for you.

5 of 5 Nice Product Friday, October 03, 2008
G. Vics from Fort Wayne In
Good product, given to me as a gift. My husband picked this one specifically because he thought it was the same size as one of the ipods, Henceforth, easier to find covers, cases, and protectors. It does not fit into anything but sansa cases that are harder to find. Otherwise, the product is exactly what I wanted.

5 of 5 Sansa Fuse Wednesday, September 10, 2008
Rick from Colorado Springs
I picked this up looking for value and performance. I got both! The price was right and the performance is very very good. I'm completely satisfied with the quality of this device. The only drawback is having to use a conversion program to download pics and videos. The conversion works fine, but it'd be nice to do a drag and drop instead of having to use another app to convert. Other than this minor quibble, this is a great mp3 player and I recommend it.

5 of 5 Sansa Fuze 8gb Tuesday, September 09, 2008
CMJ from San Diego
I got a fantastic deal on this Mp3 player. 79.99 and free shipping from Buy.com. Its modeled after the 3rd Gen IPOD Nano and it works quite well. I would say the video quality is just a tad off the Nano since my brother has one so i could compare. But for the money there is no comparison. The interface is easy to use and file are drag and drop from your pc. It plays mp3,wma which is what I use most.I used it to record off fm which it does very well and though it records in .wav , the file can be easily converted to mp3 or wma on the pc since its so easy to access. I love this player and its worth every cent. For the money nothing can touch it including apple products. There is plenty of software available to crack the IPOD dependence on Itunes but why bother if you dont have to and for less cost? Highly recommend this product.

5 of 5 A Top Value Tuesday, September 09, 2008
A Customer from Lake Ridge, Virginia
I bought this to replace my E240V.1 Sansa. On the older model, playlists/album art synced to the expansion card didn't appear on the main library list. Artist/album and music files were there, but not as a playlist. The Fuze solved that issue. Be aware that the Fuze is much closer to a light gun metal than the bright silver it appears to be in photos. This is a good thing. The screen is better and the user interface is about the same. There is a choice of wallpaper color. The Fuze is heftier, not as thin and easier to hold than the Nano. The FM radio is way better than the E200 series. At least in my side-by-side comparison. Its start up time (4-6 sec) is much faster. Get yourself a set of Sennheiser cx300 headsets or similar and your way ahead of the ipod for a lot less cash.

5 of 5 Lovin' it! Tuesday, September 09, 2008
A Customer from San Diego
I like everything about it! easy to navigate, has all the features you want. better than ipods cuz ipods just play music. the only thing is make sure you get a screen protector asap when you get it since the screen is flesh with the body and easy to scratch, like ipod. The exterior color is not the silver that you see on the sample; it is more like dark gray. And i tried to watch sex on it but the screen is to small to enjoy. =(

5 of 5 Great for podcasts, audiobooks...and mp3s Monday, September 08, 2008
doug from Culver City, CA
I used to think that Creative Zens were the best MP3 players for my needs, but after much research I decided to switch camps and try the Sansa Fuze. Why? 1. No special software to install: The Fuze can appear as a removable drive and you just drag and drop your music. By default it will go into MTP mode which requires you to use Windows Media Player for file management, but if you change to MSC mode, it will appear as a removable drive 2. Subscription music support: Works with PlaysForSure sites like Rhapsody and Napster, just like the Zens 3. Passive Bookmarking: When you listen to podcasts or audiobooks, the Fuze will let you resume at the point you last left off. Audiobooks are usually multiple files and the Fuze will remember the last file as well (unless you play another file). Never seen this before. 4. Charges from any USB connection: The Creative Zen for example, generally, will only charge if you connect it to a PC with the Zen software installed. A big pain if you want to charge at work or a friends house, etc. 5. Adjustable playback speed: When you are listening to podcasts or audiobooks, you can playback at a faster (or slower) speed. Great for catching up on your podcasts. 6. MicroSDHC slot: Internal memory is 8GB on my model, but I'll be able to add up to a 32GB SDHC chip once they come out. Right now they max out at 8GB, but 16GB were announced earlier this year. Paid a paltry $25 for the 8GB chip. I like the UI navigation. I actually like it better than the Zen. It uses the scrollwheel to go through any list of options, while the four "corners" of the wheel do certain things like play/pause, left, right, and options menu. This gives you more immediately available "buttons" compared to, say, the Creative nub joystick. This is a minor point, but if you have multiple albums by the same artist and you choose to play all songs, it still plays them in album order. Other players I've used have this option, but play them in alphabetical order. Who would want to listen to them in that order?! The case seems pretty durable. Mine is a gun-metal gray. The build seems very solid, particularly compared to the very plasticy feel of the Zen V. What don't I like? Well, my main gripe is the lack of a standard mini-USB connector. Instead a proprietary wide-type (ala iPod) is required. So although you don't have to install special software, you have to always carry around the special cable. I suppose they are trying to standardize on one connector across the Sansa line and need to accomodate video out, docking, and other things that might be more problematic with USB or require multiple outputs. Still, my Nokia N95 does it with a multi-function 1/8" jack--headphones, remote control, video out, etc., all from the same jack, and PC connectivity is handled by mini-USB. In other words, it can be done without the proprietary connector. I was able to get a second Sansa cable for $5 to carry around in my briefcase, but I wish I didn't have to. The placement of the headphone jack can be troublesome. It's at the bottom on the right. I would prefer it be located on the top or ever sides. If you are using headphones, it's not that big of a deal, but if you attach mini-speakers or something larger it's very awkward. I like the fast podcast playback feature, but couldn't they have included pitch adjustment? I don't want to listen to the chipmonks. My final complaint is that you can only delete one song at a time without connecting it to a PC. There appears to be no way to delete an entire album or artist. The Zen lets you do this. Overall, I REALLY like this player. It does most everything I need an MP3 player to do and I just have to live with the proprietary cable.

5 of 5 Great Little MP3 Player Wednesday, September 03, 2008
Larry C. from Marion, Iowa
This little MP3 players is everything I was looking for. It's small, plays video, has enough capacity for several movies and a ton of songs, expandable, built in radio and not made by Apple. I have a Sansa Clip for my motorcycle and have been very happy with it. Now I'm loving the Fuze. My only complaint is that the video converter won't convert a DVD directly to one file. You first need to rip it as one file to your hard drive and then you can make it one movie file on the Fuze. I guess it would be nice if it would play iTunes files but until Apple will allow that I guess I can just keep dreaming!

5 of 5 BEST player for podcasts and audiobooks Saturday, August 23, 2008
A Customer from Culver City, CA
The Fuze will *automatically* remember the last play position on podcasts. For multi-file audiobooks, it also remembers the last file played! It has adjustable playback speed too, so you can catch up on podcasts in one-half the time. Expansion microSDHC slot for adding more memory. 8GB cards are like $25 and 16GB coming out soon. Another standout feature is that no special software is required. It can appears as just a removable drive so you can drag and drop files from any PC. Supports subscription music like Rhapsody and Napster too! Nearly perfect.

5 of 5 Sandisk's FUZE is a firecracker! Wednesday, July 09, 2008
B Robin from Honolulu, HI
As a longtime and satisfied user of a Sandisk M260 MP3 Player, I decided it was time to upgrade to a unit with more memory and a video screen. The new Sandisk FUZE offered the perfect upgrade. It's very small, easy to use, has 8GB which is more than enough for me, 20 hour battery life (haven't tested that claim yet) and useful features. My favorite feature, which is carried over from my older unit, is the graphic equalizer. Depending on whether I'm on a plane or not I use different earplugs that have very different sound profiles. A quick adjustment with the equalizer keeps both sounding great. The included earplugs are very good too. The FUZE is a less expensive alternative to the Nano with the advantage of not being an Apple product. I highly recommend the FUZE and would buy it again.

5 of 5 Great alternative to IPOD (more functions) Tuesday, July 08, 2008
A Customer from Farmington Hills, MI
I bought 8Gb version. Value- very good compared to similar storage space on ipod and others (but still feel mp3 players in general are overpriced) Performance- is excellent except when recording it creates the files in WAVE format which uses a LOT of memory. I'd give it a 5 if I could change it to create the recordings in MP3. Ease of use - 5 - very easy to use, great feel for materials used, fit/finish, etc - sleek looking, light weight and very compact. Overall - very satisfied b/c it is one of few that has FM radio on it AND voice or FM recording. These added features make the value even better. Only thing it is missing is a line-in input jack to record from a sound system (I use it to record seminars and a line -in would provide better sound quality on recordings than the built in microphone) Also the SDHC card slot to expand memory is a great feature to easily and rather inexpensively (up to) double the memory size.

4 of 5 Nice little player Monday, July 07, 2008
Mary B from Forest Park, IL
I'm no expert on mp3 players. I've never had an iPod or any of the other popular players. So after my rudimentary half a gig Sandisk player, this one is a nice upgrade. It wouldn't play my WMA files, and I couldn't find anything in the small amount of info that came with the player listing what type of files it DID play...but after converting my music to the highest quality mp3's that I could with Windows Media Player, I am happy with the sound. I also bought a new set of headphones, as the earbuds which came with this sound nice, but don't really fit into my ears. I've filled up the 8 GB with music, and could easily fill that much again, so the additional capability for photos and video aren't necessary or useful to me, and the screen is pretty small for those things anyway. I'm also looking into memory cards, and I bought a protective case, wall charger, and a carrying case as well...so the overall expense of this player is getting to about double the cost of the player itself. But it's working great for me, and the small size is wonderfully convenient for keeping on hand to pull out of my bag anytime I feel the need for some music.
