Took awhile to get it onto the motherboard, but once I did I was able to overclock my cpu to its vcore-created limit and still remain in the safe temperature range. Took my lame C0 stepping e8400 to 3.9GHz with 65 degrees C as the max core temp under full load.
Easily fit on my Sonata 3 case dimension-wise, but you may want to connect any cords or wires that are around the heatsink before you install the motherboard back in the case as you may not have enough space for your hand to fit when it's installed. I kept trying to reinstall one bridge power connector with my hand thinking I had small hands, but couldn't fit. Luckily I thought to uninstall the powersupply so I could fit my hand around the heatsink easier, before I completely removed the motherboard again to plug in the power connector. This item is HUGE!. I could barelly mount it on my Asus NFORCE 750I. In fact, I had to install it twice because the air seal from the thermal grease was compromised due to the HUGE size while mounting it. (I almost give up). It's worthy? maybe... Was this review helpful?

Keep my overclocked E8400 to 4 ghz nice and cool. The stock fan is aqeduate with acceptable noise level. Only compliant is the difficult installation, the push-pin configuration is a little tough to get in and doesn't feel as secure as a bolt thru kit. It's a big cooler, I have a Thermaltake Armor+ MX case, and it barely clear the 23 cm case fan. Was this review helpful?

Great heatsink. A little too large for my midsize case but works great at cooling my Q6600 quad core at 3ghz. The price is right, too. I used a bolt-through instead of the included twist pins. Was this review helpful?

Works very well, much better than just about any of the other coolers out there. Zalman's coolers are just as expensive but can't get close to the performance of the Vendetta 2. This version is bigger than the original Vendetta, so make sure your case has plenty of room around the motherboard or you'll have trouble getting the cooler and fan on. The fan could definitely be easier to attach to the fins of the cooler, I bent a few of them trying to get it on, but they're easy enough to bend back in place so it's not a big deal.
I have this running on an Asus P5E3 Premium and the design of the cooler allows it to fit nicely without being obstructed by the motherboard's heat pipes. The only problem was that the directions don't mention to ensure the tension pins are rotated in the proper direction before you attempt to push them down - one way they're locked and won't work unless you rotate them - this is easy enough to do but I didn't think to check that until I had already put thermal paste on the cooler and put it in contact with the CPU. Overall, performance is what I'm really interested in and this cooler has it - not very loud either. Was this review helpful?
