5 of 5 The Best TV Tuner PERIOD! Thursday, March 20, 2008

Over the past six months I have done a lot of research on TV Tuners and I am glad that I waited to purchase this one.
This TV tuner is excellent. It comes with all the necessary cables (with the exception of a VGA-to-VGA cable). When taking the product out of the box, I noticed it is no bigger than DVD Case and not much thicker than one either. You can safely nestle this thing next to your monitor. When you first hook up the TV Tuner, you can set it up in about 3 minutes. I used the remote to set it up as the box itself has only 5 buttons, Vol-/+, channel -/+, and a menu button. Although you can setup everything using only the box's controls, I found it easy to use the remote. Take a look at the details outlined in the instructions manual below.

Once hooked up, the TV Tuner will accept signals from any device and turn them into the resolution you specified. I have a Hanns G 22" monitor (1680x1050), and everything that I have thrown at it works beautifully.
So far, I have tried:
1. the supplied Wii cable with the Wii on the component setting,
2. the supplied PS2/3 with the PS2 (dont own a PS3 yet) on the component setting,
3. an XBOX 360 using the component cable on the component setting,
4. a DVD player using the component cable on the component setting,
5. a PS2 using the composite cable on the standard setting,
6. a Gamecube using the composite cable on the standard setting,
7. and a DVD Player using the composite cable on the standard setting.
I have also tried the computer to Monitor bypass setting. The screen quality looks just as good as if I hooked up the laptop directly to the monitor.
I also tried the TV Tuner aspect of this box. I have the simple digital cable package from Comcast, and hooked up the main line of the house to this box. The picture looked simply amazing as you can switch between the resolution settings and the normal/widescreen aspect. If you use a digital cable box like I do, then you will need to use the remote supplied with your cable box and not the TV tuner.
All in all, I would say that I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. This TV Tuner is the best product for the price, and does everything that I need it to. Being a college student, I can't afford to buy a brand new 22" TV for $500+ just to be able to use my gadgets. My monitor looks better than most TVs in my opinion and has a higher resolution and contrast ratio than most TVs that I have seen. So for around $300+ dollars, you can get the same thing as a TV, but possibly with better quality.
Do not hesitate to buy this product if you are in need of a TV Tuner to use your other devices. Buy this and you will be satisfied completely. Hope this helps out some potential buyers.
