2.7 of 5 Rattlebox, Wimpy Heat 7/9/2009
Hypothermic in Seattle from Seattle, WA
I'm disappointed with this product. In some modes, it rattles quite loudly, because the sheet metal resonates with the fan--which is loud, too, even on the low heat setting. It also doesn't function well as a heat source, except on the highest setting--where the loudness is quite objectionable. This product looks great, but up close and personal, I haven't warmed up to it.

3.3 of 5 Good as a Tower Heater Only 6/10/2009
Oscar from Novato, CA
It worked well while vertically, once it was placed horizontally worked for a couple of hours, then the motor started going on and off until it finally stopped. Once again placed vertically the motor started slowly coming back on until it was back to normal, but it would stop again if placed horizontally. It is a little bit noisy. The heat is good for a small room but not for a 39 foot travel trailer.

4.3 of 5 What You See Is What You Get 4/26/2009
Richard from Eugene, OR
Looks bulletproof, it is pretty much idiot proof as well. The fan only function is weak but I doubt that I will have any use for it. The cat loves it for the heat and lack of noise. It doesn't look stable on my deep carpeting but it has yet to tip over.

4 of 5 plasticky 4/21/2009
ace from new york city
The heater works just fine as described. However, it looks very plasticky and cheap . The photos showed it to be very metallic and industrial looking , that's why i bought it. In summary, functions are fine, looks are disappointing.

5 of 5 Good heater for money 4/15/2009
from Madison, WI
We got this for $30, and for that price, it's a good heater. A little larger than what the picture makes it seem, but this is okay. Love the fact that it can be set at any angle, and it still runs. Also a nice feature to have the thermostat. All in all, recommended.

5 of 5 Good value 4/15/2009
Tim from Inver Grove Heights, MN
Purchased two of these heaters - one for at home and the other for our travel trailer. I am VERY pleased with the quality and performance for both applications.

4.7 of 5 Strong heater for good price... 4/15/2009
from Ocean County, NJ
I ordered the heater because it was on sale for $30. It's fairly big for a room heater so check the dimensions before you order. I think it's a great unit; it puts out lots of heat at two diff levels; it has a good timer; and it can be used in vertical or horizontal positions. The fan does make some noise but I like white noise.

5 of 5 Mom loves it! 4/14/2009
Jerry B from Cedartown, Georgia
I am currently in Iraq and had a chance to talk to my mother a few weeks ago. She told me 2 of the oil filled heaters had went out on her and because it was the end of the season she could not find a heater. I happened to find an electric on here on Buy.com and had it sent to her. Thankfully she received it just when there was another cold snap. She said it worked fantastic! And it looked great as well :D Thanks for the great deal on it and I recommend Buy.com to all my friends!

4.7 of 5 Excellent Value 4/14/2009
Rich from Aiken, SC
Quick delivery. Substantial unit. Thermostat is a little confusing but works well. Great features. Fan is slightly noisy but not a problem when used intermittently. I would definitely purchase this unit again.

5 of 5 Powerful heater, adjustable heat, timer, quiet 4/1/2009
Bob from San Antonio, TX
This is a large and I think reliable heater that gets the room comfortable quickly. It is very nice. For the price of a cheap heater, I got one that is substantial, does not rattle, has plenty of controls, and gets the job done with ease. No complaints. In fact, after buying one, I bought another a few weeks later. Both arrived within a day or two in perfect shape. Very nice

3.3 of 5 You get what you pay for. 3/17/2009
from Newton, NJ
Arrived quickly, took a few minutes to figure out how to operate it. However, it keeps blowing fuses! Can't use the hairdryer or vaccum without blowing a fuse. I have upgraded electric service and never tripped the circuit breaker until I used this heater. So as to how it works, I hardly use it, I'm afraid if I make toast I'll have to turn on the circuit breaker. It seems to throw heat well and I like the functions it has but it must use alot of electric so I would only use it in an emergency. Also has to be on a very flat surface or it rattles, not the quietest heater I've ever used.

4.7 of 5 Great heater, only 1 complaint. 3/11/2009
from Colorado
This is an excellent heater, and works just fine.
I especially like this model because you can touch it anywhere on the unit and not get burned. I would agree that this heater is safe around kids.
Only thing I dislike about it, is the adjustment knob feels very loose and doesn't seem to 'engage' very well when switching between high and low capacity.
Be aware! This heater is very large, read product dimensions carefully.

4.7 of 5 v good for its price 3/10/2009
from Thousand Oaks, CA
mind it...in the picture the heater looks pretty small. I agree with Chris (Portland, OR) on its features. It is well built and has good casing. The rattling sound others are complaining about should be from the timer knob when it gets stuck in between the manual mode and timer mode. You just have to move little bit more to whichever side you want it to be.

3.3 of 5 delonghi rattle trap 3/10/2009
from Paramus, NJ
The heater heats very nicely (I'm using it at the moment), but I have to adjust the position and wedge paper into the corners to keep it from buzzing and rattling. I haven't had time to figure out how to get the issue resolved. Depressing though. Not the bargain I thought it was, just a cheap heater.

4.3 of 5 Nice and quiet 3/10/2009
Jim from Birnamwood, Wi
It's whisper quiet. I haven't gotten an electric bill to see if there is a big change compared to my eden pure. Does a good job keeping the area warm. Although I thought it was going to cover a little larger area. The folks at Buy.com got it to my door fast and in perfect condition.

4.7 of 5 Great extra space heater to have on hand. 3/5/2009
Chris from Portland, OR
Two weeks after receiving this heater, sure enough, my oil furnace has gone down. I'm certainly glad to have it. It works well, and quickly.
For ease of use, it can't be beat. I like the timer function, knowing it will turn off after 1 to 4 hours as set. That's nice for using when going to sleep, or getting ready in the mornig before leaving, because you can set it and forget about it.
As some others have pointed out, the thermostat option is a bit silly. It's not metered at all, so you don't know what temperature you're setting it at, and, in a bigger room, it comes on and goes off too frequently. It might work better in a bathroom.
For heating a bigger room for a long time, I much prefer a virtually silent radiator-type heater, but for the workroom in the basement, this is great for having at my feet. I've also used it in the basement for helping dry a layer of mud on the wall.
For the price it's a great deal, and I'm glad I got it.

4.3 of 5 I'd buy again... 3/2/2009
Ralph Brewster from Coarsegold, CA
I purchased this heater to use in a 12' x 16' home office that is at the end of my residence, as it can get chilly on that end of the house because we use a wood stove in the middle of the house for heat in the winter (bedrooms have their own "zoned" heat). It works fine, and although it is a little noisy, I am a "white noise" kind of guy, anyway, so it doesn't bother me. The heater actually does keep the room nice and warm, and the timer function works fine, although I don't use it much. It even keeps the next room (a 10" x 11" office) quite warm, as well, and I sometimes put it in the doorway between the two rooms and it heats both (although we do live in the mountains of California, so not too cold here). I do wish there was a master "off" button or switch, as you can't read the dial in the dark, and there are no notches or other tactile cues to know where you are turning the dial, so you might turn it down at night & go to bed, only to find you turned it to "low" in the morning. Adds about $8-$10 monthly to our power bill, as I use it all day and evening...saves way more than that.

4.7 of 5 Keeping Warm! 2/26/2009
Dee from Monroe, GA
These are great heaters. Especially for children. They are a little noisier than I wanted especially one of them. But they definitely are serving their purpose of keeping the kids bedrooms warm at night. We just wanted to cut down gas cost with furnace and the heaters for the rooms at night were more cost efficient. If they are on 1 they will keep several rooms warm with the doors open. They are an incredible value. If you wanting to keep warm - look no further. Be prepared for noise but if that does not keep you awake - you should be pleased.

5 of 5 Great convenience and portability 2/9/2009
from Gallatin, TN
I bought this heater to use in a 18' x 18' patio room that is enclosed with windows, to be able to use the room in the winter. It works great for my purposes. The heater is used to take a chill off of the room, not to keep it toasty warm, the room gets the afternoon sun. We do not use the room when it is below freezing outside. I especially like the thermostate setting for below freezing weather, it starts automatically. I've also used the timer function on the contol and it works great. Very pleased with this purchase.

3 of 5 Waste of money 12/28/2008
from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
This is a very poor product. It does not generate much heat, except to the power cord we had it hooked to! I bought this in October as a Christmas present to heat my son's garage. He can not use the heater and the company will not take it back.
What a waste of money!!

4.3 of 5 good product... 12/14/2008
pj from redlands, ca
pretty good product. not too bad for its price. my girlfriend complained that it was too load, but it doesn't really bother me too much. i have a pretty small room, maybe 200-300 sq foot, i'm assuming, but it does the job, and keeps me warm. the knobs/dials on the top is pretty easy to use; i'm simple and so just as long as it turns on its fine with me, but the knob/dial settings are not as exact as it should be, so if u're anal about things like that then u might want to find a different product. again a pretty good product that i am satisfied with.

5 of 5 Outstanding Value! 12/5/2008
John Schafer from Easley, South Carolina
We purchased one of these things, and liked it so much we ordered two more! We are heating individual rooms, each one is about 15 feet square with high ceilings, and even with an outside temperature in the mid 30s, the heated rooms stay at a comfy 71 degrees. Being ceramic, these heaters are a lot cheaper than using the central heat unit which is gas powered. We simply close off the rooms we are not using at the time. It is easy to bypass the timer by just turning the timer dial to the always on position and set the thermostat so it automatically turns off when the room is warm enough. We are VERY impressed.

3.7 of 5 Takes the edge off 12/3/2008
AVS from Columbia,SC
This heater is much larger than it appears in the display pictures. It is a very safe design, but it is HUGE!!! Not something you are going to put on the floor or the corner and have it be out of the way. The heat works, but in my opinion should only be used with some other subsidizing heat source. We use this in my 1 year olds room to keep it cozy, but we also have central heat/AC, so it is only boosting the temp in his room about 5 degrees. Nice quality heater for what is does, but it is GIGANTIC!!!

4.3 of 5 Great for the price 11/18/2008
Red Rum from Huntersville, NC
I'm using this for a liitle extra heat in my home office instead of turning up the heating for the whole house - its fairly quiet, pushes out quite a bit of heat and has a nice big dial on the top (if you stand it upright) to adjust the settings. Only thing it lacks is a 24 hour timer instead of the zero to 4 hour one. Otherwise I'm happy with the other features.

4.7 of 5 Excellent 11/17/2008
from Charleston SC
This is the first time I bought a heater and after reviewing several heaters, I was totally confused. I then decided to buy this and at the time I was buying it didn't have any reviews. But would have to say that I couldn't be happier. The room which I use it for is around 14X12 and it heats up pretty fast. The fan is a bit loud (though it never bothered me much) and especially if you use the automatic cutoff. But for that I have no qualms and would not hesitate to recommend it any one.

5 of 5 This heater is fantastic 11/13/2008
from Columbia Maryland
I love the heater. Was quite surprised at the intensity of heat and how quickly it heated up the room. In fact, I just bought a second one. Would recommend it very highly for a medium-large size room. Will definitely save on the ever climbing electric bill!

4.7 of 5 good heater 11/10/2008
from Waco, TX
I like the heater a lot. It is very rugged, and it doesn't get too hot on the exterior. It has a simple but featureful dial thermostat. The main dissapointment I have is that the thermostat will often turn the heater on for 5 sec and then turn off again.

4.7 of 5 Good product; great value 11/6/2008
from Jackson, WY
Quiet (even on a tile floor, despite others' complaints about noise on hard floors) and effective if you are trying to heat a small space like a bathroom. Larger spaces (like a 10'x15' room) require hours to increase the temperature significantly.

4.3 of 5 Good Heater. Good Value. 11/3/2008
Acton from Oak Harbor, WA
The heater is larger than I thought (the ad didn't have product dimensions). Because it's only 1500 watts, I thought it'd be a small thing I could stick under a desk. It's 24" x 12" x 10". It heats very well and evenly.
The fan speed and power settings are controlled by a knob that has no detents or "clicks" to give use feedback that it is in the position desired. You just roll the dial to the labelled position, and hope it's in the right spot.

2.7 of 5 Mediocre Performance 11/3/2008
from Baltimore, MD
This machine has very nice features and is easy to use. I am disappointed with the performance of the unit on high heat. Unit does not seem to produce as many BTU'S of heat on high setting in relation to other heaters (both radiant and ceramic) for 1500 watts of power consumed.

5 of 5 cranks out a lot of heat 11/3/2008
from Austin, TX
This unit is large and slightly louder than other portable heaters.
Otherwise, it cranks out a lot of heat. I turn the central heat down at night, so I use it to quickly warm my bathroom in the morning.

5 of 5 Safe for use with kids, save $ 11/3/2008
Barbara from Gig Harbor, WA
Even when this unit has been running for an hour, the two metal brackets on the front do not get hot, you can grab them with your fingers and they are actually maybe 80 degrees. The black metal grill where the heat comes out is hot, but it does not leave a burn. I remember as a kid getting burned badly on portable heaters and so have not considered them for the last ten years, but my 13 month old actually put her fingers on the black grill and after a second pulled them away, and had no red marks and did not cry. The units I am used to would have instantly turned the skin white, left a scar, and required a trip to the DR. Our main heater for our 4000 square ft house uses 150,000 watts, so we have two of these at 15,000 watts each in the living room to cut down on our $400 monthly winter electric bill, they can get that room (800 square feet) up to 72 degrees. They are great for quickly heating up a bathroom for a child's bath without heating the whole house.

4.3 of 5 Heats up my cold bathroom quickly. 11/3/2008
Pam from Rockford, IL
This is a pretty big heater. I bought it for my bathroom - which is always cold in the winter. It heats up the room in about five minutes - bringing up the temperature between 7-10 degrees in that time period. I do wish the thermostatic control was more precise. It is just a dial that you turn up or down. I would have paid a little more to have had more precision in temperature setting.

4 of 5 DeLonghi Ceramic Heater 11/3/2008
from new york
the fan is too noisy and the heat it emits is less than expected for a heater of this wattage. i found the oil 'radiator' style more effective. i bought this one because of the thermostatic 'no-freeze' option and will end up using it as a back-up for times when we are not at home to monitor other heaters for safety.
