This is a beautiful monitor. The only reason it wasn't a 5 out of 5 is that it does have one dead pixel about an inch off center. Aside from that, it is amazing. It's spoiling me and I think I may have to buy one for work.

The clarity on this screen is amazing. I use everyday in my office and is truly a pleasure to use all day. Great value for the money. I wish I had 2 more. Delivery was fast. Using about 6 months now with no issues.

I've been waiting a long time to find a wide screen from a quality company I could trust. The Samsung wide screen allows me to place multiple documents on the screen at one time. The speed, clarity and graphics are great. Love it. No problems at all with the monitor. Still waiting on rebate.

My wife and I can't be happier with this monitor. It exceeds our expectations regarding the crisp, clear images this monitor presents. We do a fair amount of reading/writing of documents and viewing and simple manipulation of pictures. It is a great monitor!

Totally amazed at the picture quality. I selected this due to name brand. If the TV's are so clear, it must be close to the same tech. I do graphics and ACAD. No problems with colors or clearity for complex lines. A little bleed through at the top but only visible when computer is starting.

A great monitor! Not a single dead pixel. Very easy to install and connect via the digital port. Wonderful color, great resolution. DVDs look spectacular. No complaints at all.

i love it, i read all the reviews and at first didnt want to buy it but i did and yeah it has 2 dead pixles but all well it works for me and it does have a auto adjust its right next to the power button you click it and it adjust the screen perfectly and i love how the buttons arentin the front there hidden under the monitor but i looked before i even put the monitor together but i love it!

Excellent value and my monitor arrived the same week that I oredered in a Saturday with regular shipping! My rebate was already confirmed and The monitor works great so far. I have only two comments about this SAMSUNG monitor: It came with one dead pixel, but it is not noticeable since it is at the superior top left edge. =( The turn on button is located in a odd position, but I knew about it from these reviews. Not a big deal! I have compared this monitor against other deals in the market and no one came close. Excellent bright colors, nice design, and the best price for the size/brand.

This is my second Samsung 22" monitor so I've been happy with them. My only complaints with this one is there is no height adjustment and the monitor controls are behind a clear plastic edge at the bottom and almost impossible to see. Of course, once your settings are to your liking it's of little importance, but intial set-up is a challenge. Picture is excellent.

Overall it was a good buy.I'm not crazy about the way the buttons are under the monitor. I find they are not easy to use. It took a while to get it adjusted but I got it done. Good quality picture. A good buy for the money.

Beautiful color. Watching DVDs, Great picture. Lots of adjustment for your setup. Magic tume modes for movies, sports, games ect. Great monitor and great value.

What a beautiful monitor, tasteful design. It does take little to get used to the gloss black frame, but the picture quality is excellent. Set-up was a snap. Installed the monitor on a Neo-Flex monitor stand for more versatility. Good price point. I have had this monitor for 3 months. Service from Buy.com was, as usual, impeccable.

This LCD has a beautiful picture and I didn't have any dead pixels! I think this is one of the best values available - you get what you pay for. I'm very satisfied and have recommended this model to my family and friends.

I've had this monitor for about 3 weeks now. I've used it with analog (Mac) as well as digital inputs (2x XP machines), and they worked great. Includes inputs for both analog and digital which wasn't clear in the description. Monitor is bright, text is clear. Shipping center was in Chicago had it in 26 hours even though I had selected 5 day shipping!

I am upset with the 2253LW monitor I purchased from Samsung. It is our 3rd desktop monitor at home and it is not the best. Black letters on grey background are always a bit blurry, and it doesn’t seem to be adjustable. The menu of their driver is not very convenient as to compare with my other monitor from Acer. Also, I never received my rebate from Samsung. I honestly sent them all the tags and papers required (there were 3 of those). In a couple of weeks I received a note from Samsung that 2 of the 3 necessary tags were missing. It was nonsense, because all the 3 tags were sent in the same envelope. As I didn’t register a list of contents while sending my package, I couldn’t prove anything. Then I sent them my scanned copies of all the papers (usually I copy things that I send for my records), but I got no response at all. I think their “rebate” was just a gimmick. I will not deal with this company in the future.

Had a little trouble setting up the display.Menu is a litle hard to navigate.took a while to get it to full screen. Overall it is great!!!It is worth the money!

granted, it's only been out of the box for about 45 minutes, but WOW does it look nice! From the glossy black finish, to the slick, semi-hidden lighted buttons, to the very nice looking wide-screen display... I can't help but be pleased.

This is by far the best monitor I have ever seen. Did a lot of homework on LCDs in general, and for the price, given the specs that are offered, this is a steal. Samsung definitely upholds their name here - this is a very solid monitor and its absolutely perfect for high-end gaming, which is what I mainly use it for. I have it hooked up via DVI and the contrast ratio is jaw-dropping. It really shines on its 1680x1050 native resolution. The resolution takes getting used to, but you won't want to change it, or you lose that crisp, vibrant tone. No dead pixels whatsoever, which was a plus. Also the response time is nearly zero, and for FPS games, this is a must. It really shines on games like Team Fortress 2, Crysis, CoD4, and others. The colors might need a little tweaking at first (I chose 'cool' tones to bring out more vibrance in the color) but other than that, this monitor is ready out of the box. I used to own a 19'' CRT monitor and it recently burned out, and the switch to this was worlds better! If you're looking for something good, definitely put your trust in this Samsung monitor. It's just the right size, and for a few bucks more than the competition, you really will get what you paid for. And with a 3 year warranty, this seals the deal. You won't be disappointed.

Monitor arrived at front door without prior tracking notification. The instructions were poor - took a while to figure out how to power on. The worst part was a hot spot in the center of the monitor, which detracts from viewing.

This monitor has everything a person could ask for. Beauty,crisp clear text,fast response time and easy to set up. The stand is solid and so is product. A Friend has another brand monitor and said my Samsung 2253LW wins hands down in a contest.He wished he'd spent just a little more money for the built in CLASS that shows in my monitor when you first walk in and see it.

I decided to build a computer on a budget and this monitor was part of the package. I am very impressed with the quality and display so far. No dead pixels on arrival. I have played a few action games on it so far and the picture quality is better than I expected. Also, my digital pictures from my camera look incredible on the 22" screen. Well worth the money. I read a few reviews that complained about the power button location. I have had no problems finding the power button to turn it on and off. Not a real issue at all. Thanks to buy.com and all the other customer reviewers who helped me make this wise choice.

Nice Screen, very clear picture. The DVI and VGA inputs are very handy as I had a VGA Video Card when I purchased the Monitor. In order to get the Max Resolution this monitor would handle I changed up my Video Card to a DVI output. Sweet!

An exceptional picture and stylish polished black piano look. This will pay for itself over time in energy savings compared to my old 21' picture tube monitor. Be green, shut off you screen savers and conserve energy since lcd's aren't prone to image burn in. No dead pixels! Buy.com shipped item expeditiously. I highly recommended this monitor.

I bought a Samsung 226BW for my parents last year. I paid $320 since it was new released. I was amazed by how clear the pictures can be. So I bought this 2253LW. Pictures performance is still excellent and I don't think any other companies can beat Samsung in a short term. However, Samsung is the largest monitor manufacturer in the world. Quality control should do better. I have heard a lot of complaints on dead pixels problem after they open the box. Now, I am one of those. If they can do such a great job in resolution and contrast improvement, why don't they do more on they dead pixel problem? So it is not the problem of Buy.com. If you want to get a prefect Samsung monitor, you'd better buy it in person and check on the dead pixels.

It's a very nice monitor to look at. There are no dead pixels. However, if I lower the brightness below 80 the monitor starts humming. So I've turned it down to 80 and lowered it further using the nVidia control panel. Slight backlight bleed on the top but not too bad once you turn down the brightness. I'm going to have to get a monitor stand, as it sits very low. Overall, very nice monitor.

I was in the market for a 22" WS LCD and at first I bought the Acer Black. Actually I bought and returned two for screen defects. I then found this Samsung 2253LW and was about the same price after rebate from Buy.Com but has the 2MS and 8000:1 with a very crisp picture and great colors. This is 1000 times better than the ACER that I am now so glad I had to return. Things I don't like that will not reduce my review score: I am not crazy about the shiny piano black; sure it is pretty at first but a typical flat black would have been better and reduce reflection and finger print, smudge and dust visibility issues. Mine says Auto Adjust is not available when I push the button; not sure why they would remove this feature so that might be a defect. I have a good bit of light bleed especially noticeable across the top on all black screens. When I turn the monitor on it flashes the Digital Block for a second or two that I am tired of seeing. But yeah, still a Five Stars for a great picture and nice specifications that are hard to beat around the $250 price.

I've used LCD's on my desktop computers since the price started dropping in the late 90's but this is the best LCD I've ever seen. The 22" wide screen is exactly what I was looking for in my upgrade and this monitor delivers, and how! The response and contrast are noticeably better than standard LCD's...this is a performance board in an economy case, I'm convinced. No negatives. I wish the stand were a little more adjustable, but at this cost you can easily get an aftermarket solution if it's a serious problem for you. The gloss black is nice (I got Razer input devices, so everything matches...gloss black with blue lights) and the bezel at the bottom, hard to tell in the product pics, is clear plexi, reflects the blue lights along its border, amazing effect. Buy.com shipped it out immediately, arrived in perfect condition, free shipping! NPS = 10/10 Highly recommended to anyone that doesn't need a larger display.

I did a lot of research between this monitor and the 2253BW and saw no critical differences other than the pixel pitch. For the LW model the pixel pitch is smaller then the 2253BW which means a sharper image according to wikipedia. I received the monitor in pretty good condition. The only fault is one dead pixel to the right of center close to the bottom of the screen. This is a bit disappointing as I had heard great things about Samsung monitors. Other then the dead pixel, the display is great and I really like the look of the finish on the frame. I also like the clear plastic bar at the bottom of the screen. The controls are behind this which I really like, despite what other reviewers are saying. The button placement keeps my 2 yr. old from being able to turn the monitor on...at least at this point. The buttons are lableled on the clear plastic which are easy to read and understand for those who use LCDs. Overall the monitor is quite nice, colors are great and I am glad I purchased it...just wish it had no dead pixel, but I will survive. =)

This Samsung monitor was bought to replace my 9 year old Samsung monitor that still works perfect. The color and clarity is fantastic. The gloss black housing looks great. I am happy with it. 5 years from now I will probably still be saying what a great monitor Samsung makes.

After less than 2 hours of use, I found some dead pixels located at the upper left section monitor. Other than that, the monitor is ok for its value.

Again, this was a great purchase, I have been using it with my MacPro for a few weeks now and have had no problems. Definitely considering buying a second one. I went from a 17"crt to this and I could not be happier. No dead pixels, shipping was fast, and the product comes very well packed. For anyone that has researched these samsung monitors, this one has no buzzing sound, so hopefully samsung has taken care of that problem with the new batch. Also, you might need to find something to place it on because it does sit somewhat low...nothing a couple books cant take care of.

Beautiful picture and beautiful thin gloss black bezel and stand. The only thing I dislike is that during sleep mode, which it enters when you shut down your pc, the blue power light flashes. You must manually push the button to turn it off. Its mainly an issue because I have it in my bedroom. Samsung doesn't provide any other options so it's just an additional step when shutting down.

The Samsung 2253LW 21.6" Monitor arrived with no dead pixles. Comes setup at100% brightness and turned it down to 65% with no problems..Fast and played games like Unreal 3 with no problems. (On a fast System). Movies are great (With good video Card XFX GeForce 9800 GTX ) Was a good value at $229..... Monitor was recognized at boot right away wthout the drivers at first, but I loaded the software and updated drivers anyway. The only Con which isn't a biggy; Control labels for monitor were hard to read and control buttons awkward to find but they did seem to work just fine when you figure them out... Building PC's since 1990's

This is wonderful monitor for the money. I have a similar monitor at work that is a 24" from Samsung with an ability to rotate the screen 90 degrees. I love that monitor but at $450 it was out of my price range. This monitor looks almost identical and gives me the same great display, with fantastic color and sharpness. My old CRT 19" monitor "died" and I had to replace it. The amount of desk real estate I gain with this monitor is the greatest. This one is only 2" smaller then my work monitor but I really don't notice much of a difference. I set this monitor up and connected it to my computer in about 15 minutes, fantastic! It looks so sleek on my desk and it functions wonderfully. I highly recommend it!! The only issue I had was finding the power button. It is not well place for first time use. Once I found it there was no problem. Anyone buying this monitor will not be disappointed. Side note - Buy.com does a great job on shipping and truly offers the best deals around. I have been buying from them for over 2 years now and always come here first to research prices on items I need. 95% of the time Buy.com has the best offers on most anything I need.

That's what my wife said after seeing this monitor connected. All I heard was why do you need this. Well over forty the bigger the screen with the bigger fonts make reading doc's very easy. It also works great for the video games at 2ms - big difference from the 8ms 17" that was being used. Very easy set-up and outstanding picture/graphics. Digital vacation photos look awesome! Having Sony TV's in the past we got spoiled with great pictures and this blows away even the best ones we have had. Price is the best around and it shipped and arrived with no problems. Now if I could just talk the office into buying one...

First, I almost returned the unit because it would NOT turn on. If you look at the bezel and see the clear plastic piece, it appears that you press it to turn the unit on. This is NOT the button. You have to CURL your finger around that clear piece and press an actual button recessed into the black frame. After a call to tech support, the monitor turned on instantly. NO dead pixels. Thank god. I think this is becoming less of an issue now that production on LCD's is efficient. Early models (all brands) had dead pixel issues often, but this has decreased with improved methods. Overall, this is a great monitor. Don't hesitate to buy it.

BIG MONITOR. Not sure what the difference between the 22 in. and 21.6 in. models besides the size. Well worth the money. The power button is on the back behind the glass so you are going to click it by feel rather than looking. Very bright monitor. Took a few hours for me to get used to as I upgraded from a 17 in. monitor. Everything looks very crisp and clear. Gaming and videos look great! I highly recommend this product.

Overall, the quality is excellent. I couldn't ask for more from a viewing experience. The only drawback I have is the recognition of the program "Magic Tune." It will not recognize, and an email to Samsung about a month ago still has not been acknowledged. BTW, Buy.com did a superb job of handling and delivering the monitor promptly.
