Enjoy the videos stored on your iPod with the iFlip 7 inch. iPod Video Player in black from Memorex. With a 7 inch. widescreen LCD display, as well as a universal iPod dock, the iFlip includes a rechargeable battery for up to 5 hours of video playback and adapters for use with the iPod.

iFlip 7 inch is compatible with the 5th Generation iPod.

Due to a recent change in Apple iTunes software, the Nano 3G and the iPod Classic will no longer broadcast a video signal to the iFlip when docked in the docking connector.

With Apples software change, the only way to view video on any existing video player, including the iFlip, is to purchase Apples iPod Composite Video Cable, available at Apple retail stores and Apple online at: http://store.apple.com

The cable would be used by plugging one end into the 30-pin plug on the iPod or Nano and the other end into the AV In plug on the side of the Video 55.

Please note that this software change by Apple does not affect the ability to play music from the iPod or Nano through the iFlip speakers. Previous versions of the iPod are not affected by this change. All previous versions that have video capability can play video through the iFlip when docked.

5 of 5 Better than what people are saying. Monday, August 04, 2008
A Customer from Olean, NY

I bought this for my 5th generation 30 gb iPod. The sound is superb for speakers in a device this small. We are very happy with the sound quality. Also, the reason it doesn't work with newer iPods is that Apple changed their firmware on the 80 GB 5th gen, and new ipods. BUT, if you want an inexpensive video player for a 30 or 60 GB 5th generation ipod, this is awesome. I don't need to cart around a ton of DVDs for the kids on a family trip. The portable DVD player is history. I can get about 20 movies, and hours of music on the iPod. More than enough for any trips we make. Plus the AV out cable means we can hook it up to most hotel room TV's. And the sound is good enough to bring some tunes into the kitchen when we aren't traveling. If you have the right iPod, this is THE accessory to buy.

3 of 5 Does not display pictures Tuesday, June 10, 2008
Russ from Moosic, PA
The photos appearing on the iPod screen do not appear on the MI7001 screen. This is the second unit I tried with the same results. The audio is sufficient considering the speaker size. The customer service does not have a toll free number. I bought this unit primarily to view my photos.

5 of 5 Great Product Thursday, May 29, 2008
Eric - Video Engineer from California
Video wasn't HD quality lol... (Based on screen pixels) but overall very good product, it would be much better if it came with a remote. I like it nonetheless, it got to be a strain looking at that small screen over a period of time.

3 of 5 Does not have an AV Input as indicated! Thursday, May 29, 2008
Jeff from Milwaukee, WI
The Memorex iFlip page says with respect to using an ipod and the AV cable: "The cable would be used by plugging one end into the 30-pin plug on the iPod or Nano and the other end into the AV In plug on the side of the Video 55." I purchased this expecting an AV In port, but that does not exist. This recommendation could never be implemented due to a lack of inputs. Don't buy this expecting Video inputs!!! I'm going to hack it now to work with my Creative Zen Vision:M

3 of 5 Works with 80GB 5th Gen iPod Friday, May 16, 2008
A Customer from Marin County, California
This works with my 5th Gen 80GB iPod. For those who didn't get it to work, did you remember to turn on TV-out? I also noticed a quirk where it didn't work the first time, but I removed the iPod and played a video and replaced it while the video was playing and it started working. (I have no idea if this did anything, but if you're stuck, you might try that.) Note: Video quality is POOR. Horrible contrast, washed out light colors. The screen on the iPod itself has much better color and contrast. Don't expect your photos to look good on here at all. It's still ok to watch movies, but some scenes may be a bit harder to see. Overall, it's well worth the $40 sale price.

4 of 5 Can't beat it for the price. Friday, May 16, 2008
Bob from Beacon Falls, CT
This worked perfectly with my 5th Gen 30 gig iPod video. The picture quality is not super high res and the sound is a little weak, however, at this price this is an outstanding value. Compared to watching movies on that little iPod screen, this is a HUGE improvement. I'm very happy with it and I think as long as you have one of the iPod units listed as compatible, you will be too.

4 of 5 Its Not That Bad Thursday, May 08, 2008
di5tance from NY LI
got this for past Xmas from my wife, she got it for my iPhone which it didn't work with but I had my 80 gig 5th Gen iPod which is 10 times bigger so I have EVERYTHING on there, and I keep my iPod in the unit always it works great, I think the issue people are having is cause people update the iPod software when its avail I'm running a custom software but its always telling me there is a sw update. Older sw on 80gog 5th Gen is working. I'm buying a bakup @ this price!

5 of 5 So far so good... Saturday, March 08, 2008
A Customer from New York
I received this about a week ago and so far I'm enjoying it. I bought it for when I'm travelling which I haven't done yet so that will be the big test. But it's easy to use, small enough to stick in my pocketbook(or maybe my pocketbook is too large ;) )and lightweight.

1 of 5 BE CAREFUL WITH THIS ONE!!! Thursday, March 06, 2008
Nichole from Northeast Missouri
As others have stated, this item does NOT work with the 80 gig iPod. (Even though the manufacturer claims that it does). Seems like it would be great to have, if it worked!!!!

1 of 5 Rip-Off Tuesday, March 04, 2008
parnass from Chicago, IL
Beware! This is a rip-off. It does not work with any of the latest iPods. There was no warning about that on the web site or on the box. Does not work with Gen 3 Nano, or newer Classics or the iPod Touch.

5 of 5 Great for the Price! Wednesday, February 27, 2008
Tom from San Diego, CA
At first I thought about picking up the larger version, but decided to just go for it and I am not disapointed. The screen size is just fine for car or plane trips and the battery has a 5 hr life which covers most trips. I have been downloading video from Google, and find that it is easy to transfer to my iPod (5th Generation). The full volume through the on-board speakers is not too loud, but is just fine with headphones. At $60, this is a great deal!

1 of 5 Obsolete device Thursday, February 14, 2008
Len from Los Angeles
If you have any newer generation Ipod, including the latest nanos or the classic Ipod with 80G or more, this product is incompatible. It will play audio but no video, making it a rather expensive external speaker...

3 of 5 Check Compatibility Monday, February 11, 2008
A Customer from Dallas, TX
Check the compatibility of newer iPods with this unit. You may be surprised that it is not compatible. This is a great little unit, it just doesn't work with the newer units.
