4 of 5 a little slower than I expected Monday, November 16, 2009 A Customer from Terry, MS
Scanning and faxing are a little slower than I expected. Print quality is good. For the money, it is a very good product. Would like to be able to override permanently some of the default settings. The temporary override doesn't help much. I receive a LOT of faxed material that does not need to be printed top quality -- slow and uses too much ink -- and I cannot override the default setting permanently to receive in draft mode. Also would like to have the ability to receive faxes into memory and then print them on demand. Automatic feeder periodically pulls more than one sheet through at a time. And is it supposed to be so noisy when it prints? Sounds like something is breaking inside every time it picks up a new sheet of paper. But, again, for the money, it works for me! 3 of 5 Exasperating Lexmark Printer Wednesday, June 24, 2009 Sarge from Puyallup, WA
I've been a HP devotee for many years. But when I saw this x9575 on sale & with all the features I was looking for (e.g., all-in-one, wireless capability, etc.), I decided to give it a try. I spent an utterly frustrating 1.5-months trying to get the dang thing to link up to my laptop wirelessly. I spent hours & hours researching the problem, and hours & hours on the phone with Lexmark's Tech Support people. They finally told me that that my laptop (an HP running XP with SP3 and pushed by an AMD processor) didn't have the necessary, most-current USB 2.0 drivers. H-m-m-m...
I checked every driver in that laptop and upgraded everything that was upgradable--no joy.
I'm fairly adept with computers (I built my first one in 1985), and I have a pretty wide persistence streak, but this one stumped me.
Fortunately, I was in the process of purchasing a new laptop. The new machine used an Intel processor running 64-bit Vista. It took me about 10-minutes to successfully make a wireless connection to the new 'puter. Go figure. I personally feel that Lexmark dropped the ball in not providing adequate drivers for their product, as this seems to be a relatively common problem.
At any rate, NOW I can review the printer...
*Print quality is somewhat mediocre.
*Fax functions work great; with the exception that if it's hooked up on your home telephone line (as most people will connect it) you'll have problems using an outside voicemail system. There isn't any "Press 9 for fax" function.
*Scan works OK, but I haven't had occasion to use the OCR software yet.
*Copy functions are fairly quick. All things considered, it's about what you'd expect from an an All-In-One machine. It does a lot of different things, but none of them REALLY well.
In the future, I think I'll stick with HP products. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Nice upgrade Saturday, May 16, 2009 A Customer from Chicago, IL
This machine is working fine. Just got it, looking forward to using all of the features more...soon! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent Product for the Price! Sunday, March 08, 2009 David from Atlanta, GA
This is one of the Best "Wireless" All-In-One units and probably the BEST Value for the Buck that I have come across!
Set Up and Operation including wireless printing and Scan to PDF is an absolute Snap! Print Quality is excellent:
Haven't quite used it for photo printing but I'm almost certain it would be just fine: For under $150....It is a 'CAN'T BEAT!'
**Only thing I can say as a downside is that for a unit dubbed "Pro-Printer".....the feel of durability is anything but; However, for what I paid plus FREE Shipping and Buy.Com's EXCELLENT Customer Support, it is another EXCELLENT DEAL in my book!!! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Very Pleased Wednesday, February 18, 2009 A Customer from Pittsburgh, PA
I haven't had this printer very long, but so far it has performed flawlessly. It was a easy to setup. I had it linked to two laptops in no time. The two features that convinced me to buy this printer was 2-sided printing and wireless connectivity. So far, I've had no problems. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 My mistake but still a good deal Tuesday, February 17, 2009 Rob Carnahan from Dufur, OR
I thought I was purchasing an inexpensive lazer printer, but it turned out to be an inkjet. My mistake but it has replace my two other HPs as the printer of choice for my documents. Really a good value. I will find an inexpensive lazer eventually! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 HAPPY CAMPER ... Monday, February 16, 2009 Ted from Golden, CO
I've only had this Lexmark X9575 for a short time; however it appears to be doing as advertised ... I have it hooked up as wireless with a Qwest DSL modem and four other computers...
The price I paid was fantastic, and I couldn't pass it up ...
I've purchases many other computer items from Buy.com, and would recommend them to anyone that wants a good deal, and good service ... Five stars for sure ... Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Problems with vista software Monday, February 16, 2009 A Customer from Chicago,IL
I got the printer up and runnning wireless in no time. Works flawlessly with mac osx and winxp machines. However the software had issues when installed on win vista. Hence the 4 stars. Otherwise a very good printer for the price. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Lexmark Rocks!!! Monday, January 12, 2009 Rob from Aurora, IL
I recently upgraded from an older Lexmark printer (similar in style) to this x9575 and it works great. My previous flatbed printer had the paper feeder in the back, but this one has it in the front..much nicer. The flip up LCD screen is handy. The printing quality and speed is fantastic. I got this printer at a lower price than $232 (at Buy.com) but I would definitely buy it at $232. Buy.com was quick on delivery. I never pay for the expedited shipping because it comes within days of ordering. I've owned the printer for 1 month now and haven't had any paper jams/printer failures/etc. LEXMARK printers are great. Highly recommended ***** Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Awesome Printer! Saturday, November 29, 2008 Thomas from Atlanta, GA
By far this is one of the best printers I have ever purchased. The speed and flexibility of Lexmark X9575 printer is the best I have have seen for the price and quality. It does everything and then some. I would recommend this printer to anyone who is looking to upgrade. Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Lexmark Has Another Winner! Sunday, July 20, 2008 Reggie Day from McComb, MS
The first X9575 I received from Buy.com would not feed paper correctly. I've owned a number of Lexmark printers over the years and know they make excellent products, so I requested an exchange from Buy.com and they immediately sent a replacement. This unit exceeds all my expectations and I would highly recommend it. At one time or another, every manufacturer lets a defective product get by them, but the fact that Buy.com handled my concern immediatley and provided me with a perfect replacement unit says a lot for Buy.com and Lexmark. If you need an excellent all-in-one printer, buy this unit... and buy it from Buy.com. Five Stars to both Companies! Was this review helpful?
