I originally had 1GB in my Lenovo R61 laptop. I was having problems when it would start running out of memory (which happened when the memory usage was around 700 MB). The hard drive would run continuously and I would have to wait until it finished swapping files before I could do anything. Once I got the memory installed, that no longer happened. However, I don't know if it's coincidence but it takes much longer for my wifi to connect and sometimes games would be choppy. Also, for some reason, my laptop (Windows XP) says only 3 GB are installed. But as far as the main reason why I got the memory (so my computer won't freeze up), it has worked great. Tried to install in an Acer Aspire 5720 laptop with Vista Home Prem
now it won't boot up. Went to the OCZ site and they advise of a work around patch from Microsoft that addresses the issue of installing 4gb of ram when it came with 2 gb. Will have to see if that fixes the problem. As it is for now it is back to working with the orig memory. Also the OCZ site mem config seems to be somewhat outdated. Was this review helpful?

Ordered the RAM for my Macbook Pro and one chip was defective out of the box. Buy.com was good about returns for defective products, but I missed out on my rebate because it expired while my return was being processed... I did receive a replacement and the replacement worked. I guess I should have been more cautious with buying RAM at such a cheap price, but it ended up to be a good value in the end. There are a few other review that mentioned that some chip are defective so be aware. Also don't throw away ANYTHING shipped with the RAM or send in the UPC until you test the chips, otherwise returns may not be possible. Was this review helpful?

One stick was dead on arrival. Emailed buy.com for rma but they needed original upc. Rebate needed orignal upc so I Rma'd to ocz. Received replacement memory. One stick was dead. Rma'd to ocz again. Waiting for 3rd memory, when I finally get both sticks in package to work I guess I will discover if it even works in my computer. Their memory configurator doesn't cover Toshiba a215 series but tech support thinks it should work. Ocz stick will not pass extended memtest when used with factory memory but one ocz by itself will. One stick ocz is slower than 2 sticks factory 512.I hope 2 sticks of 2gb dual channel is faster. Was this review helpful?

Hey, it's memory...what's to say, either it works or it doesn't. This product works great in my Dell Vostro 1400; I've had no problems in the 2 weeks I've been using it. The memory installed in my laptop and working out good. I had a little extra trouble installing the second DIMM in my Compaq/HP (6910p) laptop. I had to remove the keyboard to get at it so if you are replacing both and there is not a second slot on the bottom, check the documentation on how to get at the second one. Was this review helpful?

It's memory, pretty much a commodity now, what is there to say? But anyway, it was a great price with a rebate, it performs as it should (I'm not overclocking it), ease of use is 100% dependent on what you are putting it in but my Dell Latitude D531 with XP Pro recognized it with no problems. Buy.com shipped it quickly and it worked out of the box, so overall satisfaction is a 5. Now let's see if I actually get the rebate... Was this review helpful?

Never installed laptop memory before and still only took 2 minutes. Went from 1 gig to 4 so difference is very noticeable. RAM usage went from 65% down to 23% on startup. Zippy RAM. Has improved my notebook speed - Sony Vaio FZ. My 32bit Vista only recognizes 3GB of the 4GB, but adding 50% more RAM alone was a big difference maker and I have ample free memory now. Now lets just see if I actually get back the rebate... Was this review helpful?

I purchased the memory in june and for one month after installing the memory modules my computer was giving me more headaches that i could handle. The problem was with the ram and it refused to show up in any diagnostics. After a month, it finally did and i asked for a rma. turns out that ocz makes you pay for the postal charges of shipping them the faulty product, which is totally unethical.
On top of that, they denied my rebate even though i had all the documents attached.
