5 of 5 nice and powerful Sunday, June 14, 2009
A Customer from San Francisco, CA

I need a UPS for my pc after I moved but I don't know how to calculate the va/watt thing, and I couldn't find any info which I could understand...I tried a 500va/350w which is not enough for my config (intel 3.0c, 550w PSU, 4 HDs, 6600GT, 19" LCD) so I just got this 1000va one (685 va with LCD is nearly $90, why not this one..). Ready to use upon received, the software is easy to use and understand. PC+Moniter+DSL modem are using 26% of its capacity with 15 mins runtime! Now I can build a better pc without worrying the power failure!

5 of 5 Much happier than with my old APC Wednesday, May 27, 2009
Bob from Henderson, NV
I much happier with my new CyberPower UPS than my old APC system. I love the LCD display and all of its readouts. I also love that it connects to my Mac and gives me readouts in my menu bar. I was always clueless as to what the status of my APC system was or how much longer the battery power would last. Now I know exactly either on my screen or the screen of the UPS.

5 of 5 Not only for computers Monday, April 13, 2009
Brent from Lynchburg, Virginia
I purchased this UPS to protect my HDTV setup, primarily by line conditioning and also to protect against sudden power loss. CyberPower came highly recommended by a friend who uses them in his business. I already had all of my equipment protected by a pair of Panamax surge protectors and, while Panamax performs as advertised and is one of the best at surge protection, including lightning, it does not condition the incoming power which can decrease both the performance and lifespan of your audio and video gear. Plus here in Virginia almost every rain includes lightning and we have frequent momentary losses of power which plays havoc with electronics. The CyberPower was surprisingly compact, very easy to set up, and the display was very helpful in deciding what to connect as the A/V receiver can pull a lot of power on its own. I now plan to get two more slightly smaller units to protect our desktop PCs.

5 of 5 CyberPower CP Office Tower - excellent purchase ex Monday, January 05, 2009
Steve from Bellaire
The CyberPower CP Office Tower 1000AVRLCD 1000VA UPS I ordered from Buy.com at a heavy discount with free shipping arrived within 4 business days. So far, so good...I typically have brown-outs more than full power failure and have experienced no issues since replacing my old APC unit with the Cyberpower. The larger capacity has allowed me to use it as a backup for 2 computers (one headless), an LCD monitor, a backup drive and my internet gw/router. I feel like I can now compute with impunity!

I replaced a new APC that failed only after two weeks with this unit. I love how it shows the % capacity in a nice display. The coax protection is also a plus. The voltage regulation is also a plus.. Great product!

5 of 5 Great product Thursday, September 25, 2008
Joe from Columbia, MD
I replaced two APC UPS units, one of which (an 18-month-old Back-UPS ES 750) was intermittently insisting that there was no AC. Based on the reviews here and elsewhere, I bought two of these CyberPower units (and recommended it to a relative for a small office environment) and two months later, I couldn't be happier. The software is easy to use and the product has supplied clean power for months through power interruptions / outages. Based on the reviews I've read, I expect these units to last a long time!

5 of 5 Everything I Expected Sunday, September 07, 2008
A Customer from Chicago, IL
I replaced an old Belkin UPS. The CyberPower unit plugged in and worked, as it should. The software is comprehensive. I really like the display, too. It shows you important information.

5 of 5 Great product Monday, July 14, 2008
Lloyd from Winchester, VA
I'm very pleased with this backup unit. It kept my projector safe through a brown-out just last night. With these items it either works or doesn't and this unit did fine. The really impressive functionality for me is it's on-screen information. I can cycle through two particular readings which I think are very cool. 1) You can see kW. I don't know how accurate it is, but it gives me a really good sense of how much power I am using. I hooked this unit up to all my A/V gear in my home theater - 2 year old HD (760p) panasonic projector, 100W Yamaha Receiver, HD DVD player, HD DVR. For a long time before buying this product, I wanted to buy something to tell me how much power all that gear used so I could get the right size power back-up. That and I was curious how much electricity certain appliances took. This product lets me do that testing. 2) You can see % of load capacity. This is cool because with all that gear I mentioned, I can see I'm running anywhere from 35% to 48% capacity most of the time and know a lot more than the mere fact that I am within it's capabilities. I have an older 350VAC unit and you can only know if you are drawing an acceptable amount of power or unacceptable - no clue exactly where you fit on the scale though. So this product really gave me what I think all backup battery units should have plus some. My only recommendation is to give me an option to leave the display up - it turns off after about 20 seconds. I'd like to have it on all the time so I don't have to push the button everytime I want to see the readout. And if you want a really picky wishlist item, show both load and kW usage on the same screen without having to cycle through. And if you reeeally want to get picky, in additon to real time kW, show kW/hr, kW/day, kW/week. I've had this unit about a month, so I have no long term comments, other than the 1st month being fine.

5 of 5 Better than advertised! Wednesday, July 09, 2008
A Customer from Ocala, FL
This is an incredible value - both UPS protection and line conditioning. I have this unit installed in my home theater setup to protect my satellite receiver and HDRP TV (DVD player, too). My TV requires a 90 second cool down with the fan to protect the bulb, that is why I needed a UPS. The line conditioning is an added bonus - NTM it's usually only available on units much more expensive than this one.

5 of 5 Fantastic / Excellent Value Tuesday, July 08, 2008
Don from Baltimore, MD
Before this UPS I owned a Belkin F6C120-UNV 1200VA UPS. This UPS was made of steel and the case would get very hot on the outside. About a year after I purchased it the batteries died. I called Belkin and they sent a replacement UPS which then died after another year. This CyberPower UPS stays very cool - the case is room temperature and makes absolutely no noise. The display on the front is fantastic and only comes on when you press the "Display" button on the front (which I prefer over having the display all the time). I would absolutely recommend this over Belkin if you're looking for a UPS - just do a google search and you'll see many others stating how unreliable their UPS's are. Buy.com's price on this was far better than anywhere else that I could find online. In fact, it's so affordable I'm thinking about getting another one for my kids PC. As a side note, I did not install the software so I can not rate the quality / functionality of that. Windows XP / Vista recognize the UPS natively and confirm the battery level.

3 of 5 Does not work with Vista ! Saturday, July 05, 2008
A Customer from Charles Town, WV
We purchased this unit for use with a PC running Vista. The box says Vista Compatible, however, the software included was for XP only, not Vista. Tech support was unable to make the software work with Vista. It works great on XP, but don't buy it if you have Vista.

5 of 5 Great Product Friday, June 13, 2008
dennyhere from Midland, GA
The Cyber Power unit is small and attractive. More importantly it works without being intrusive. The power display on the unit times out after a couple of minutes so it is not distracting. The Power Panel is available on the PC and gives you up to the minute information of the condition of the power and the projected run time under battery power. I am very pleased with the product and Buy.com.

5 of 5 it's working Sunday, April 27, 2008
A Customer from Dallas, TX
Bought this after experiencing flickering lights in my house several times. Eventually found a problem in my homes main breaker box. Since then have had momentary lights flickering due to recent storms and this unit activates quickly enough to come on even though power was not completely off. Haven't installed shutdown sofware yet. All plugs are close together so to use them all with the oversize plugs/transformers that most computer accessories have you will have to build short male to female extensions because rear panel is too crowded. Other than that seems to work great.

5 of 5 Protects TV Monday, April 21, 2008
John from Lake Worth, Florida
I connected this unit to my TV to protect that device from power surges and outages. Easy to connect. No software needed. The unit provides additional protection by running the antenna line through it. This is good since we have lots of lightning here. The display is useful. It shows how much running time remains while on battery and it shows information on the power being supplied to the unit.

5 of 5 Great Product! Wednesday, April 09, 2008
shanekeppley from PA
I bought 2 of these units to protect our home office computers from power outages and they work great. Easy to setup and the optional software to turn off the computers is great. One of my computers has a large, power consuming CRT monitor, that cuts the backup time down, but still gives me 15 minutes to save and close everything. The other computer with an LCD panel and slower processor gives 34 minutes of backup! I would not hesitate to buy these again.

5 of 5 Good value. Saturday, March 22, 2008
A Customer from NJ
I bought this to replace another CyberPower unit which served me well for many years. The LCD is very useful, and the upright configuration is a space saver. My last CyberPower was a great value years ago, and this new one is too.

5 of 5 Great value for a UPS! Tuesday, March 18, 2008
A Customer from Wetumpka, Alabama
This unit has already saved me from disaster! Power surged for a second and this unit did not even hesitate to pick up the load on two computers. The LCD and computer program give you the details to know exactly how long you can be protected and the status of the battery. Great deal and especially super with the free shipping!

While relatively expensive, it cost less than replacement batteries on my old UPS. What can I say other than it works.

5 of 5 Shut down feature Sunday, February 10, 2008
REF from Punta Gorda Fl.
Was easy to install and fire up. Software has a most useful feature. It can shut down the computer at a predetermined time. This is very useful when recording TV programs via a Capture card that does not have a shut down feature.

4 of 5 Power Backup for Big Screen TV Thursday, January 31, 2008
A Customer from Preston, CT
Nice size, great display ability (time left, % usage, etc and also includes tuning off display after a few minutes). I am disappointed in the projected backup time based on being plugged into my TV when it is turned off. The device only projects 60 minutes for a trickle of power needed to keep the device "warm". I expected more for a 600W device. UPDATE: I have unplugged it from wall for 5 to 10 minutes at a clip a couple times and the display shows about 58 minutes remaining, so maybe the power remaining algorithm doesn’t work well for a very low drain. Yes the additional capability to use hooked up to a PC is more than I need in this application, but I do have the option to use it, if I ever need it. Additionally, the display capability is top notch and something that I really wanted. Still appears to be the best price and power backup with a good display option, so I will rate as a 4 for now.

5 of 5 Nice unit Tuesday, January 01, 2008
A Customer from Woodbridge, CT
Works as advertised and reliable. The software only projects 13 minutes on battery with 200W load, but I haven't tested it to see if it will last longer. Overall, good deal and satisfied.

4 of 5 Good value Monday, December 31, 2007
A Customer from Franklin, PA
Pro's: Nice LCD display with all kinds of useful information. (Load, input voltage, output voltage, etc.) Easy to set up, just plug in. Will run my HD-DVR for hours when power goes out as long as the TV is off. No lost recordings :) <br> Cons: Voltage output is not kept at 120V if supply does not drop below 90V. This means that your attached equipment will run at whatever supply is between 90V and 120V.
