4 of 5 Great product for the value Wednesday, September 10, 2008
A Customer from Fort Wayne, IN

I really like the product and the additional components in the packing. The sound is pretty clear and it isolates quite well the noise around without the additional hardware as in other models. The only cons is the bass. That could be better. I have an old "Phillips MP3 Bass" that is cheaper and still has a better quality sound and bass than the JBL 220. Anyway, I'm satisfied with the product for what I paid.

5 of 5 Best Bang for the Buck Saturday, August 30, 2008
    A Customer from plano tx
I also have a sennheiser CX500, i compared the jbl 220 with it and it sounded better on the highend, but lacked bass compared to cx500. I have to say, they sound great for its cost and is comfortable to wear. the high range is loud and clear, vocal sounded like the person is singing in side you head. The bass the punchy, but it might be not enough for bass lover. for bass lover, sennheiser cx500 will be better. as for high and vocal, the jbl 220 doesn't disappoint! I recommend at list 24 hour of burn-in before use.

5 of 5 Very pleasant surprise Tuesday, June 17, 2008
    A Customer from Clifton NJ
I didn't expect this headphones to perform so well. They're pretty small and don't look like much so i was expecting average performance. However I was in for a surprise. Bass response is very good, mid and high range is satisfactory, but overall it's a great value for the money. I also have Ultimate Ears super.fi 3 Studio and JBL beats it hands down.

    4 of 5 Great Sounding In-Ear Buds Saturday, August 18, 2007
    Brian from Tampa, Florida
First of all I ordered these after A LOT of research. I also wasn't able to get a clear answer from Buy.com about whether or not these were the same set that other retailers sell which come with a carrying case and a bunch of accessories. THEY ARE EXACTLY THE SAME SET! The carrying case is big enough to hold your 80gb ipod video. However, three of the accessories are useless, the foam attachment, the headband and the behind ear "holders." The reason I say that is because those all were designed to position the earphones on your ear, instead of in your ear, thus dramatically changing the quality of sound to crap and no longer isolating outside sound. Throw those pieces away! Now, for the sound quality using the silicon in ear attachments; I am an audiophile and very picky when it comes to audio quality. I think for the price these earbuds sound GREAT! They isolate outside sound well. The range is fantastic on these, the mids and highs are just about right, they could be a little sharper, but not bad. The bass might be a bit heavy for some if you like to listen to hip-hop, rock fans will find the bass just right. I happen to like a lot of bass and hip-hop, these ear buds sound like you have miny subwoofers in your ears, you can almost feel your body vibrating :) Now for the biggest negative of these earbuds. JBL for some reason decided to wrap the cable in fabric instead of rubber. While this may hold up to more abuse, it also transfers the sound of the cable rubbing on your shirt or skin, which is very noticeable to me at lower volumes. I bought 3 pairs of these, one for me, one for my mom and one for my sister. The rubbing doesn't bother my sister or mom, but it does bother me a little. I may solve this by cutting off the original cable and transplanting my old ipod ear bud cable to the JBL earbuds, or look for some sort of rubber coating kit? Hope this review helped. I couldn't find a whole lot of information out there when I was researching, so I wanted to be sure to write a thorough review after I used these Earbuds for a few weeks.
