5 of 5 Great looking case! Wednesday, May 20, 2009 Paul from Devils Lake, ND
I ordered this case to replace a tower I had painted to match my entertainment system. This looks much better in my living room, just as good as the picture. Installing components is easy with the provided hardware. The best part is that the CD/DVD/Blu-ray bays lay flat and there are two of them accessible from the front. This seems to be a rarity and this is one of the few cases I considered. I gave the Value a 4 because I'm used to buying the cheap case and P/S combos, but this was the best solution for me as I already had the power supply. Shipping was free and very prompt. Another happy purchase from Buy.com! Was this review helpful?

I received the case after already having read the reviews of it from other sites that sold it, some positive and some not quite so positive. They usually dealt with fit issues. However, I was ready for a challenge and went ahead and bought the case knowing that it would appear that I would have some difficulty fitting components into the case. Thankfully, I already had experience with small cases.
In reality, I didn't have the problems others have had. It was much easier than I thought it would be. The power supply mounts in the front of the case instead of the typical rear mount with all tower ATX form factor cases. A built-in power cord is supplied to send the AC mains to the front of the case where the power supply is to be installed. The front of the case is detachable to allow you to insert screws to hold the power supply in the case. A fan with a shroud is included to send the heat from the power supply to the outside of the case.
If you plan on using a 3.5 inch floppy drive or insert a hard drive where the floppy drive goes, you would be doing yourself a favor by mounting it before putting in the motherboard.
Additionally, it is necessary to remove the front cover of the case to install the 5.25 inch drive. It will not go in from the inside. You will also need to make sure that the adjustment for the button is good, or else you won't get the drive to eject the tray.
The case is well designed for my use; your mileage may vary. However, I was a bit puzzled that the manufacturer included rubber feet attached by adhesive instead of short screws and bolts (something that I will invest in soon). You will not be able to slide the case into a certain place without the rubber feet sliding about the case. I was not really surprised about that, however I have learned to pick up the case and put it where I need it to go instead of sliding it across the platform where I placed it on my desk.
The case does not come with any instructions, only a single piece of paper to inform you of the pin assignments for the switchs, lights and front USB/sound panel.
I had the case completely assembled with the computer components and the system turned on and working in about 45 minutes. I was in no rush and took my time installing everything. Like I stated above, much easier than I thought it would be. Was this review helpful?
