5 of 5 very happy with these Saturday, May 09, 2009
Gail K. from New Jersey

Regular earbuds are too wide for my ears, so after a while they actually hurt my ear from stretching it. These fit in the ear canal, so there is no stretching. They block outside noise very well, though I have not tried them on an airplane yet. Mine were missing the 2 additional size rubber eartips, and Maximo mailed them to me immediately. Their customer service was very kind and helpful. I think these are a great deal with the rebate. I had tried cheaper ones, and the sound was terrible. Very happy with this purchase.

5 of 5 Good Isolation and comfort Sunday, May 03, 2009
A Customer from New York, NY
Compared to standard ipod headphones, these are very good and look cool. The little earbugs fit at the entrance to the ear canal and completely block out traffic noise. The also get louder at lower volume levels - very clear sound - you can walk past a jackhammer and still hear your program. The bass is good, the treble is not. Still tweaking the EQ.

5 of 5 Great overall but some improvements needed. Sunday, May 03, 2009
A Customer from New York, NY
I just got a second set of these for my wife. The sound quality is superb. Noise cancellation is pretty good as well. Another great thing is that the sound is completely sealed from the outside as well. I can lay in bed next to my wife and listen to a TV show off a notebook at a really loud volume and unlike with the old Sony set I used to own she won't hear a thing coming out of the Maximo headphones. I have demoed these headphones to several of my friends and they are now the proud owners as well. I had to get mine replaced because the left ear went out, but with a lifetime warranty you can't go wrong - the only thing is that they don't do advanced replacement - you must ship your broken set to them and they fix it (or replace it) and send it back to you. The whole process took about dour weeks.

Hank from Tahlequah OK
Great price, great sound, really seals out the outside noise. Perfect for noisy environments. Wear these instead of ear plugs.

5 of 5 Great value Wednesday, April 29, 2009
A Customer from Allen, TX
The sound is certainly better than the earphones that come with the iPod. It also does a great job of sealing out much of the external noise. So far the noise cancelling feature works well on general environmental white noise, but I'll get the chance to try it out on airplane noise next month. Overall this is an amazing deal that delivers more performance than anything else I've found at this price point.

These headphones are absolutely incredible. The bass is deep and rich and the high range is crystal clear. The headphones also do an amazing job at blocking external noise.

5 of 5 These are great! Tuesday, April 28, 2009
A Customer from Gainesville, FL
I bought these to use with my Iphone because the ones that come with the phone won't stay in my ears. These earphones have three different sizes and I easily found a set that fits, stays in even if chewing, and are comfortable. Sound quality is good, and having the "extension cord" really helps at my desk. Also the plug is straight so that it plugs right in, even with a hard case on my phone.

5 of 5 Yes it does cut out sound Monday, April 27, 2009
A Customer from valencia, pa
I use these when I cut grass. I can still hear the mower, but I can also hear the music from the MP3 player. They are more comfortable than most earphones. I have had no problems with sore ears. For the price, I think that they are worth it.

5 of 5 Amazing! Wednesday, April 15, 2009
Bob K Mertz from Linden, VA
I was totally blown away by the sound that comes out of these little things. Beyond that the noise isolation is incredible for a passive canceling set and if you add the low price this makes for an amazing value. If you buy these headphones you will certainly not regret doing it.

3 of 5 Great for price, however has quality issues! Tuesday, December 09, 2008
A Customer from stillwater, oklahoma
I bought it from buy.com and paid some $10 for this product, so considering the price, audio quality, fit and finish, it is an amazing product. It is very comfortable and doesn't hurt at all even if you use them for hours. Noise cancellation and Isolation parameters work pretty well. However now it has happened twice that the left side of the bud broke down on me. I got it replaced once and probably will have to switch to some other headphone because I want something which is durable. I am not a frequent user as well, so this was unexpected.

4 of 5 Solid earbuds... Tuesday, October 28, 2008
Mike B. from Woondbridge, VA
The metal construction is nice, and the tips are nicely sized to fit a variety of ears. The included accessories are nice, as well. Sonically, the outside sound rejection is good, and the audio playback is fairly detailed and crisp. Bass response is a tad light compared to my SkullCandy earbuds, however.

5 of 5 Very Pleased Saturday, September 20, 2008
Steve from Irvine, CA
I have had these ear buds for several months now. While they do not block out as much sound as the noice cancelling headphones, they are light weight and very comfortable. They are easy to carry and use. I love the crisp sound, although as another has mentioned the base is not as potent as others. They were a great deal ($20 at the time I bought them) and would certainly buy them again (as I have for gifts). They are so much better than the foam covered styles that tend to fall out of the ears. The rubber or silicon covers that go in the ears are soft and comfortable. I recommend them.

5 of 5 Work well Tuesday, September 16, 2008
pete375 from New York, NY
Inexpensive ear phones but they work just fine. Take a second to try all of the different sized rubber plugs that come with the phones and choose whichever feel best or most secure. One thing that has come in very handy is the extension wire. That extra foot or so can really make the difference between comfortably listening to music at your desk or needing to hunch over to get to the jack on the front of your computer that's sitting on the floor. The case keeps everything lint free when you toss it in your briefcase, as well. All in all, I'm pleased with my purchase.

5 of 5 Work well for a decent pair of headphones Monday, September 15, 2008
A Customer from Melbourne, FL
They come with a few audio adapters and 3 different size ear plugs. They fit and feel great when wearing them but of course they wont preform like the more expensive ones. The sound they produce is prefect for me and for the price I paid of $20 here you can't beat it.

5 of 5 Incredible earphones Monday, September 15, 2008
A Customer from Mission, Kansas
I was beyond surprised at how great the sound was. The bass response is incredible and the noise reduction amazed me. I have used these on a flight where I was seated adjacent to the jet engine and I hardly noticed. The handy case that comes with these is very handy with storage for the additional plug in and adapters. You will not be disappointed! I am going to buy more of these for xmas gifts.

4 of 5 Looks good. Sounds OK. Monday, September 15, 2008
Bruce from Sarasota FL
These earphones look good, feel good and even smell good, but the sound quality is just OK. To my ears, they have good bass and decent highs (with my iPhone treble boost turned on), but they lack crispness in the mid-ranges as the sound seems a little muffled. They fit a lot better than the iPhone earphones and don't fall out of my ears. And, the case is nice. But, you can't go wrong for the price (if you get them on sale), Or, you can always wait for the new Apple earphones coming soon for about $79 with a mic, stop and start, forward and back and maybe even a volume control right on the wire.

5 of 5 Best earphones under $50 Tuesday, August 26, 2008
CaliBoy from Sunnyvale, California
I am excited to see this earphones on sale again. I am going to pick up a couple more this time. Believe it or not, the one I bought a few months ago, is sounding just better and better, especially after the initial "burn-in" time.

3 of 5 Overall very nice earphones Sunday, August 17, 2008
A Customer from SLC, UT
I purchased these earphones for $19.99 including shipping. At this price they are a good value. The sound is nice overall, but sometimes it seems a bit muffled. These earphones block outside noise very well. My main complaint is that the included adapters do not work. I tried using them with my Blackberry Pearl and sound only comes out of the right earphone, and the left is silent. Overall the quality of these earphones is good, but in my experience, the Razer Pro Tone m100 are much better and often cost less than these, and have much clearer sound. In addition, the Razer ProTone earphones block outside noise as well or better than the Maximo iM-390s, in my opinion.

5 of 5 Use them everyday. Best Headphones Ive ever owned Wednesday, July 30, 2008
KevinPB from Burlington, VT
I was looking at some high end headphones with better base than the headphones I used to have. I bought these and the Vmodas and they sounded exactly the same. These fit in my ear perfectly but I can see that they can be uncomfortable for some people. EVERY ear is different. I have tried many earphones, some fit perfectly, some are terrible. In terms of the reviews claiming the bass is poor, they probably don't have the right sleeve to fit your ear. If the earphone is not fitted to your ear correctly, the bass will not sound good. This is how these types of earphones work! Overall my favorite pair of headphones Ive had in a long time, and for $10 with the Google checkout, I should have gotten more then one.

4 of 5 Nice Monday, July 14, 2008
A Customer from Harrisonburg, VA
For the price, these earphones are pretty nice. I do have to agree they sound tinny even after the "break in" period. I tried to use them riding a motorcycle. At the volumn I needed to be able to hear them, they were very tinny. Almost no bass at all. However; just using them around the house doing outside chores etc., they work good. I wouldn't buy another pair or recommend buying them to anyone who can afford better earphones.

3 of 5 Not bad for what was paid Saturday, July 12, 2008
spartan65warrior from raleigh, nc
I give these headphone a solid 3. At 20 bucks, they are great headphones. They are called isolation headphones, but don't really keep out much outside noise. The frequency response is okay, but the bass does not light me up. They do have multiple sets of ear fittings, so making it adjust correctly to my ear was not a problem. If you are an audiophile, steer clear of these. They rock if you are going to give them to your kids and consider them somewhat disposable or if you beat on them in a gym. They do pale in comparison with Shure E2 or E3Cs (or better), and other higher end headphones that pretty much block out the rest of the world. I guess you get what you pay for.

5 of 5 Outstanding Value- Bulletproof design Saturday, July 05, 2008
Rick from Arlington, WA
These are great earphones! They leave any I've tried in the dust. The fit and finish is excellent and the sound is rich and clean. I feel like my player has a new lease on life and has never performed so well. These are definately worth the low asking price. They really isolate the sound and block outside noise very well

5 of 5 I love these! Wednesday, July 02, 2008
Annie J. from Mesa, AZ
I've been using these with my iPod for the last couple of months now and so far they have been my favorite. I'm no expert on headphones but I notice a marked difference with the external noise that is filtered out. A great value for the price. I would highly recommend them.

5 of 5 Nice Ones Wednesday, June 25, 2008
A Customer from Kingsville,TX
These do fit in your ear like ear plugs so that helps block out surrounding noises. Work great on airplanes. Compared iPod earphones they do not sound as good, but the iPod earphones don't fit my ears well so that is why I decided to give these a shot. Little to no bass is my only gripe, but overall I am pleased with them.

5 of 5 Great value Wednesday, June 25, 2008
A Customer from Chattanooga, TN
I was very impressed with the headphones. Good sound but most impressed by the noise cancelation. They are not Bose quality. They did well on the airplane and at the gym. For running they do work there way out. They do feel like they are squeezed in your ear. Overall I would purchase again and recommend them as a good buy. With the reduced buy.com price (19.95) and google checkout, I got these for about $11. Shipping was quick too.

A Customer from New York, NY
Good, clear sound, good bass and they will not fall out of your ears when you jog. Overall really good for the money. Don't pay $50 - $100 for mainstream brands, when you can get these GOOD headphones for about 20.

5 of 5 Perfect sound Tuesday, June 24, 2008
sarzeyes from Philadelphia, PA
My smartphone is broken so I haven't tested the adapter yet, but the sound is perfect. I recommend these for anyone who wants a lightweight headphone that blocks out noise. I can keep the volume down on my mp3 player and as a result, I don't have to recharge it as frequently.

5 of 5 Extremely well design earphones for audio devices Tuesday, June 24, 2008
A Customer from Laurence Harbor, NJ
For the price value of this Maximo iM-390 earphones, the sound is crystal clear with good highs and bass, plus fits very comfortably on the ears. To get the best bass sound, you have to try the different assortment of earbuds that comes with the product. You also get an assortment of audio plugs for different audio devices. Oh, and a nice carrying case that fits neatly in your pocket. I would highly recommend this product for those not looking to spend more than $30 on earphones.

5 of 5 Good earphones, no problem Monday, June 23, 2008
Richard from Fenton, MO
I bought these on sale for $19.95 to provide a backup for a pair of Ultimate Ears I bought from buy.com last year. Like Ultimate Ears, these 'phones go in the ear canal and they come with several different sizes of tips. I haven't used these a lot, but I think they are fine: good fidelity and a comfortable snug fit. They come in a nice protective case, and have a Y-connector so a 2nd person can share what you are listening to (obviously, with their own headphones/earphones). I'm pleased with this purchase at a compelling price.

5 of 5 Excellente earphones! Monday, June 23, 2008
Dan from Reno, NV
These earphones are great! I got them on sale for 20 bucks, but would defintely pay full price! They are comfortable, stylish, and the sound is great. Further, they came with an 2.5mm adapter for my smart phone, an air travel adapter, and a carrying case. Last, the shipping was lightning speed.

5 of 5 Best Bet for The Price Monday, June 23, 2008
Freddie from Louisiana
I've tried lots of earphones and this is the best I have heard in the under $50 range. Sensitivity is excellent as you will get a lot of sound at low volume settings and there is plenty of bass. With all earbuds you have to find the correct size eartip to get a seal in your ear or the finest sets will not have the bass you desire. Do they sound like my Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5 Pro's, well no but the iMetal's don't cost $250 either. For the money spent the iMetal's offer the most performance and best sound and actually sound better than a few earphones I tried in the $100 range. The sound isolation is very good, I bought these to use while doing yard work, I also use a set of over ear hearing protectors and with this combo I can set the iPod volume low and the sound of the lawn mower is almost non existent.

5 of 5 Put them in your ear Monday, June 23, 2008
Phil from Seattle, WA
I believe other reviews have mentioned it before, but you must put these headphones in your ear canal CORRECTLY in order to hear bass. That means you may have to change the eartips to fit your ears. (I used the smallest set for comfort) It's not that difficult, people! Very satisfied with the performance of the earphones - loud while exhibiting a full frequency response (including bass).

5 of 5 Good earphones at great price! Monday, June 23, 2008
Tedd E from Richmond, VA
Purchased these earphones for my daughter (iPod) and also my own use. Have found them very satisfactory with good fidelity and comfort. The are light weight and while I'm still deciding which ear piece of the three provided fits me best, the sound quality is great, particularly at such a reasonable price ($20). The case provides great protection, but buyers should know that it is too small to hold all the accessories that come with the earphones. Still - protects the earphones from damage when being transported. Overall, another great buy from Buy.com!

5 of 5 Absolutely worth it! Sunday, June 22, 2008
A Customer from Silver Spring, MD
I bought these earphones when they came on sale for $19.99. They have been great. They fit very snug without hurting my ears. I've always had trouble finding earphones that would fit my ears properly but these perfectly. They fit so well that I am even able to wear them when I mow the lawn with my push mower. They don't come out of my ears and the isolation is amazing. Block out noise just as well as a set of noise cancelling headphones I have. I received them in just 2 days with budget shipping. But if you are looking for a crisper sounding set of earphones buy more expensive ones. For my purposes these worked fine.

5 of 5 Great Buy! Sunday, June 22, 2008
Toni from Iowa
I travel a lot and have tried many different headphones. Without going to your $150-$300 dollar ones, these have got to be the best yet. When I am on the plane it blocks out most noise,so I am hearing good quality music on my mp3 player. The fit the ear very comfortable, stay in the ear as others have the tendency to fall out. I would recommend these to anybody.

4 of 5 Not bad for $20.00 Sunday, June 22, 2008
A Customer from Bayonne, NJ
I paid $20 for these with free shipping. With that said, overall, they are pretty good for the price. The MAXIMO buds have very good bass and low end. Its not a tight clear low end though. Its more like raising the bass frequencies on an EQ. The sound quality is not as good as the stock earbuds that came with my Sandisk Sansa 250. But the Sansa buds don't block out outside sound either. These do a pretty good job of that. They came with a really cool hardshell case and a bunch of jack adapters, including one that even fits the small jack on my cell phone. The case and jack adapters alone are probably worth $5-$10. Also, these buds are VERY loud. I would go as far as saying they are 2x as loud as both the Sansa and Zune stock earbuds. On my Zune with the stock earbuds,on some movies, the sound is so low that I have to crank the volume all the way up. But with the MAXIMO buds, I dropped the volume level down to half. I'm not just talking about filtering out, outside noise. The actual sound coming out of the buds is 2x as loud as any other earbud. If your sitting on a bus or a plane and want to keep out, outside noise, these buds are worth $20. But the overall sound "quality" is not as good as either the Zune stock buds or the Sansa buds. The Sansa buds are the best. But neither the Zune or Sansa buds block out outside noise. So for $20, the MAXIMO buds are worth it if you need sound isolation.

5 of 5 Very nice buds for a ridiculously low price Sunday, June 22, 2008
A Customer from Big Rock, IL
For $20 shipped, these are an amazing bargain. They seem well-constructed, although all earphones are by nature fragile. At least these seem to be high quality materials. The case is nice aluminum. The wires have a supple rubbery coating which seems fairly resistant to tangling, knotting, twisting, and the like. Connectors seem to be of high quality. The case is a nice, simple design, but the zipper can be a bit stubborn. As for sound, pretty darned good. I'm sure I've owned 3 dozen or more pairs of earbuds in my day and these are certainly in the top two, along with a pair of high-end Sonys. Nice bass, but not booming. Lively sounding, but not artificially so. Might not be the equivalent of the Shures, Boses, and Etymotics, but these blow those away in terms of value. Perfect for the gym, IMHO.
