1 of 5 Nikon Throwaway Camera Wednesday, December 31, 2008
CW from Cocoa Florida

I purchased the Coolpix as a gift for my son Christmas of 07. It lasted about 9 months before the lens froze. My son sent it off to Nikon thinking the warranty would cover the cost of repair - NOT. Nikon wanted to charge $80 for the repair. For that cost I could go buy a Canon and have a better camera, warranty and service. Never again Nikon! So much for reputation.

1 of 5 Would be a nice little camera - if it worked Wednesday, May 21, 2008
A from Amarillo, Texas
We purchased this camera for our company in January of 2008 to replace our old Nikon 4600. Out of the gate, there was a problem with it killing batteries after just one day of use or no use at all. If we left fully charged batteries in it overnight, the next morning they would be dead. If we only put batteries in to take pictures, it would work fine but another problem surfaced - it would not keep the date. Without batteries, it would lose date and time for days and weeks. And, this morning, we got a "lens error" message which apparently is common to this model. We're about to send it in for service but have heard that Nikon refuses to repair this problem within warranty. Regardless, we will not buy another Nikon (new Canon works flawlessly A580).

5 of 5 What a bargain!! Tuesday, April 08, 2008
A Customer from Bonham, TX
I decided after about 10 years of use to retire my 1.5mp Kodak. The Nikon Lll far exceeded my expectations, and here I am with 2 short movies and over 200 stills later, just wowed. I am a very pleased customer.

I think this camera is going to work out just fine, both for myself and my wife, who hasn't ever used a digital camera.

5 of 5 Coolpix is cool Wednesday, November 28, 2007
foxrose from Tallahassee, FL
This is my 3rd digi-camera. I "needed" a small one as my others are more professional. It easily fits into a pocket. The picture and color quality is very good. Other reviews mentioned "sluggish" on the picture taking speed but compared to my other (older) models, it's adequate for point-and-shoot. The Macro has trouble focusing if held too close. It's also very good on the batteries (2 AA) Has a big LCD screen, for which I purchased a pop-up screen, which is very helpful in sunshine.

5 of 5 great deal for the money Tuesday, November 27, 2007
A Customer from Phoenix, AZ
Pictures might be a tiny bit sharper, but no big deal. The quality is high, regardless. The battery life is incredibly long compared to previous digital cameras I've had (now using Energizer rechargeable NiMH 2650 mAh, so that might make a difference), even using the good quality LCD to preview. It takes pictures in low light, and as long as nobody moves and you hold the camera very still, they come out. The flash takes a few seconds to charge between shots. Without flash, it's only a couple seconds between shots. The movie mode produces excellent quality movies with acceptable sound. I have never had to fix red-eye using this camera. I haven't used any of the advanced modes yet, so I can't comment on them. I didn't install any of the software and am just using a card reader to retrieve pictures and Picasa to edit, although most pictures don't need it.

4 of 5 Cool Pix! Friday, October 05, 2007
foxrose from Tallahassee, FL
this is my 3rd digi-cam, it's the simplest and smallest. Just a point-and-shoot to have handy for quick pix, when the SLR is too heavy to lug around. It easily fits into a small bag or pocket. The set-up is easy to learn and it does what it's supposed to do. It's a tad slow on the shutter, but ok for my purposes. The pix quality is very good, except when there is high contrast; it seems to have a little trouble averaging, but it's manageable. Haven't had to use the flash or red-eye correction yet. Overall, I really like the Coolpix N11 (6 MP).

5 of 5 Excellent picture quality for the price. Wednesday, September 19, 2007
A Customer from Kingsville, TX
This camera is an excellent buy for those of you wanting more than average quality for just over 100 bucks. 6 MP delivers pictures with satisfying resolution and quality. Get yourself a 1 or 2 GB Sd and you're good to go for lots of pictures. Don't forget rechargeable batteries though.
