Great Hard drive data management tool. works well and as advertised. Also has bootmagic which is a great addition for a data/hd tool for any system.
Has the ability to easily place partitions in specific locations on your hd's.

My desktop came with a 100GB hard drive partitioned into a 15GB C:\ and the rest in D:\. It may be old, but it still works well for most applications, except I kept having to move data (or even program) files off my C:\ to make room for updates or new programs. I was hesitant to use this product, having had a bad experience with PowerQuest's PartitionMagic 5.0, but the other reviews indicated PM 8.0 worked well. Sure enough, I installed the program, ran my disk checks, and doubled the size of my FAT32 C:\ drive (decreasing my NTFS D:\ drive) all in one day, and without crashes. Voila! All I needed was to increase my C: patition. I am glad that it has the option to run from the CD so that there is no need to install the Partition Magic software. I booted the computer with the CD, dragged the boundaries of the partitions, and clicked OK. I let it finish the operation unattended and the time I returned to my computer it has the partitions resized. Was this review helpful?

This was easy to use, but it took a bit of customer support to get done what I wanted (repartioning harddrives). Also the directions are generally good, but it seems some of the descriptions are a bit sketchy. It did eventually work perfectly however. Was this review helpful?

I have been using this for several months. I had purchased it via a download over a year ago (perhaps two) before rebranded as Norton. When I lost my install image due to a system crash, I elected to purchase (again) and submit rebates to have little out of pocket. I elected to go through the hassle to make sure I got the CD and manual in case I need to install it again. I consider it that important - right up there with Ghost. Was this review helpful?

I've had PartitionMagic for a few weeks and used it on 4 hard drives so far. The computers have been running either Win2000 or WinXP. I've used it to resize, delete, and merge partitions without any problems.
It hasn't crashed on me and does exactly what the company claims it can do.

I've used Partition Magic since it first came out. It's not needed often but when it is, there's nothing like it. I needed the newer version to repartition NTFS drives and it is still the best way to do that without loss of data. It is a tool for the more experienced user, however, but that is who is most likely to need it. If you have a large hard drive, partitioning it can help you organize your data and this tool is the best way to do that. Was this review helpful?

I have tried to remove files from my C: drive to my D: drive.
Someone told about Partition Magic. GREAT! In about 30min I was able to resize my 100gig Sony Vaio into 2 50gig drives.

I bought this product for the sole purpose of reclaiming unallocated drive space. I moved my info from one 40GB hard drive to an 80GB hard drive using Norton Ghost 9.0 (bundled with SystemWorks 2005 Premier Ed.). When I restored the image of the 40GB drive onto the 80GB drive, the image only filled half of the 80GB drive. The other half of the 80GB drive was left as unallocated space. Using Partition Magic 8, I was able to combine the unallocated space into the existing 40GB boot partition, and was able to reclaim the entire 80GB on one drive. It worked flawlessly and quickly. The OS was WinXP SP2 Pro with NTFS. Was this review helpful?
