    the website states that it supports Java Applet, which should be compatible with other browsers supporting java. Not limited to IE.

    I do not own this product but I've just checked their web site and this camera is accessible only with Internet Explorer, because it uses ActiveX controls. So this means you cannot use Firefox, Safari, which also means this camera is not compatible with Mac and Linux.
