The most difficult part about this product is getting it out of the clamshell packaging. After that, it's a breeze. Just plug it in the USB port on your laptop and that's it. You’ll find the heat coming from the laptop noticeably cooler - at least I did. It raised the laptop a little, but the position is still comfortable. All in all, a very good value.

If the item is avaialble in any shop it is better to take it. I dont think it is worth $20.00. It is helpful in cooling the laptop. But during the long run still you feel that laptop is bit hot. when you apply pressure on laptop we get a sort of sound from the cool pad. The coolpad is of less weight. I am afraid to place my laptop on it for the first time. Coolpad is so sensitive. We will get a bit sound too from the coolpad when it is running. overall performance is ok.

After doing some serious hunting for a laptop cooling pad, I settled on the Vantec LapCool 3. The price at buy.com was so cheap (about $15), I figured even if it was crap, I wasn't out much. Well, I was pleasantly surprised by the LapCool 3 on all fronts -- this thing does a fantastic job at keeping the laptop cool, has a solid common-sense design, and is almost whisper-quiet. PROS: First off, the cooling ability: I have a 1st gen MacBook Pro, which are notorious for running hot. When the LapCool is running, my computer is very noticeably cooler to the touch. Second, the design of the LapCool 3 just makes sense: the bottom of the device is solid plastic, with air vents facing to the back of the laptop. There are so many products out there with exposed fan blades on the bottom -- not good for use on your lap!! Anti-skid pads on both sides of the LapCool 3 keep both it and the laptop securely in place. The cooling fans are surprisingly quiet, only slightly louder than the laptop's internal cooling fan. CONS: If I had to name any, I'd say that the USB cord is a little long. It just seems to be a bit excessive. Also, the inclusion of an AC adapter to swap power cords instead of having to use a USB port would be a nice feature. This is the laptop cooler to get!

I love this product! It's quiet---you don't know it's there at all. It keeps my laptop quite cool and I can use it on my lap if I so desire as the case is closed on the bottom! It is also very reasonably priced, which is always a welcome bonus.

Good product, using it for last 3 weeks. Very light weight, 2 fans are powerful enough to cool laptop, but noiseless. I had to chose from 2 online shopping sites, but I selected buy.com as my most of the products are from buy.com. You can really trust their products & great service. I would recommend this product.

Its more than what I expected. Light weight, noise less. USB cord length is enough, u can connect either side USBs. Buy.com products are really good. Size is not a big deal, as there are 2 fans, enough to cool bigger laptop. I would recommend this product.

the cooler is smaller compared to laptop size. but it is light weight and noiseless. I like this. however a little bigger in size would have been better.

This is the second laptop cooler we have owned - we actually bought 2 (both my husband and I have laptops). The great thing is that you can really use it on your lap. Lots of other products tell you you can do that, but when you see them, you wouldn't want to! This one has the intake from the back instead of the bottom - so no moving parts anywhere near your legs. No long cords to hassle with - it powers from the USB port on your laptop. I challenge someone to find a better cooler for the price! Buy.com was also incredibly fast at processing and shipping the order. We had the new cooler within 3 or 4 days!!!

I've only had this for two or three weeks, but so far I love it. It's so quiet I barely know it's on and it seems to do a pretty good job of keeping my laptop cool. Some reviewers complained about the flimsy plastic. Vantec appeared to make a great effort to keep this lightweight - and it is. It does appear to be somewhat delicate though and I'm treating it very carefully (which is not a problem for me). With it's size and weight it's very easy to slip into my laptop bag and never know it's there. The fans on the LapCool 2 had a faster rpm, but I chose this one because the air flows out the back, rather than the bottom. That seemed more practical for when I may want to use this on my lap or on a bed. I did some editing with Adobe Premiere and the computer was giving me problems. I got this because I figured it might have been running too warm. After I started using this, editing was a breeze. I ordered this on a Monday morning and it was sitting on my porch on Tuesday afternoon.

I got this when the price was $14.99, with a google checkout, i got it for $4.99. Awesome deal...very light, no noise at all...and does its job. Only bad mark I would say is the cheap look...but who cares, when its always under ur laptop :-)

you get what you pay for, it does not attach to the bottom of the laptop, and my dell 17 laptop is to big for it, also if you pick it up the wrong way you can hear the fans hit against the plastic. also the plug has started to go out after a month of use, so i have to twist the cord the right way in the plug to get the fans going... not the greatest product ever but the price was right.

The cooler does its job. As a laptop light-user (typing, web surfing), I would highly recommend this product. However, as a heavy-user (3d computer games), I wouldn't recommend this product. You should aim for one with higher fan speeds and airflow. The product itself is rather cheaply made. It seems to be easily breakable, so you may need to be careful with handling it.

Arrived quickly & reasonably well packaged. Most importantly: it worked a charm & it's keeping my laptop cool even as I write this! Problem: it doesn't power down when the laptop is in sleep mode so I have to unplug it manually, but that's minor. :-)

This prduct works great for my laptop and serves the need I have. I bought a second to use in my eletronics cabinet to cool components and it works fatastic for this use as well.

Fan diameter is small. Can do with more horse power. I would not recommend this product for power users (leaving the laptop powered on for 16-18 hours a day).

Fully recommend this product if you have any regular laptop with extra heating. This product seems specially fitted for portable or lighweight notebooks, because is thin and has low power demand.
