5 of 5 i have 4 of these 10/29/2008
booooom from wooster, oh
we have 4 of these now where i work. they are the best little cheapest network printer. all of the features on this printer make it a wonderful value. you can almost always find them on sale somewhere.
the only problem we have ever had is a bad toner cartridge was making the printer sound god awful grinding noise, replace the cartridge and off you go again.
the best thing about this printer besides not having a drum, if you buy the toner yourself you can refill the toner cartridge for about 7.00. check e-bay.

5 of 5 Samsung ML-2571N printer 8/26/2008
from Central Florida
I purchased the Samsung ML-2571N network printer because it had gotten good reviews over all, plus with free shipping and after rebate was $99.
The Samsung ML-2571N network laser printer replaced an HP non-network Laserjet 6P that I had been using on a print server for about 8 years. The HP printer had been memory upgraded to 48 MB and was a lot cheaper per sheet than a inkjet printer for general printing. Unfortunately, the printer had started to choke on network print jobs every once and a while so I figured it was time to find a dedicated network printer.
The Samsung was easy to setup and has been consistently giving me clean sharp printing. The paper tray holds a decent amount paper, 250 sheets, and was fairly easy to setup in Linux. I will soon be giving full setup instructions for Ubuntu and a review on my blog at http://techrulestoliveby.com/

4.7 of 5 Great printer - complex network documentation 8/18/2008
techwreck from Rural Retreat, VA
This printer is another of Samsung's monochrome laser "best buys". The price-performance is exceptional, and the printer is easy to use.
But, the documentation for installing the printer on a network appears to have been written for a certified network tech. Fortunately, phone support is readily available, and the Samsung support techs are both friendly and competent. They walked this novice through the network install with no problem.

5 of 5 Awesome Network Printer 6/21/2008
from Southern, NH
The setup was a breeze, took less than 15 minutes. You will need to know your router IP info but other than that, piece of cake...

5 of 5 Wow 5/18/2008
from Chicago, IL
Great network printer. Easy to setup and change the IP address. Its fast and flawless. Keep in mind when buying this puppy that it can spike to 1100-1200w upon first warmup then drops to about 400w while printing and 5 watts or less when idle.
Got this with the 50 buck promo and 60 buck rebate = can't beat that deal. I have it sitting on my home network of 9 machines and this one printer. Do a searh on F@H if you wonder why I have nine machines!

2.3 of 5 Bad network card 5/14/2008
from Gainesville FL
The printer itself is really fast and makes good quality print outs. However the network card doesn't work (at least mine manufactured in March 2008). The NC goes offline every time I access it. So I may get one or two pages printed over the network or make one change in the http interface before the NC fails and goes offline for 10 min. Also Samsung only replaces returns with remanufactured printers, so if you get one I'd check the network functionality right away so you don't miss the 14 days from warehouse buy.com return policy.

4.7 of 5 Excellent basic printer 5/14/2008
fossil517 from philadelphia, pa
If all you need is a relatively quick, simple, no-frills laser printer, this is it. While lacking in features of more expensive printers, it delivers a quality product at a quick pace. No frills or extras but this only makes it easier to use.

4.7 of 5 Great product for a great value 5/13/2008
from Lexington, North Carolina
This printer worked very well straight out of the box with no set backs concerning installation. It is an extremely fast printer and the quality looks sharp and chrisp. Using it for a home based business and have found no flaws in the two months in use so far.

4.7 of 5 Great Network Printer 5/12/2008
Steve from New Jersey
This was a great deal with the rebate. As usual, shipping was fast. The printer was a breeze to set up and speed and print quality are very good. It is a tad noisier than my old HP printer, but that's my only issue.

5 of 5 My First Home Laser Printer 4/2/2008
Neil Knotts from Fairmont, WV
My motivation for buying this printer was it's high rating and my positive experience with previous Samsung products. After my first two weeks of using it, I am thrilled. After years of using ink jet printers, I am extremely satisfied. I print many checks and envelopes as treasurer for my church. The feeding of these special documents is very smooth. I would recommend this printer to anyone.

5 of 5 Wonderful fast printer 3/6/2008
OG from Chevy Chase, MD
The first thing that I noticed about the printer was how easy it was to set it up and connect my computers to it.
<br>
The second thing I noticed is how fast the printer was, my old LaserWriter 1100 sits right next to me while this one is 50 feet away for any document longer than one page it is faster to walk and pick up the document than have the LaserWriter print it.
<br>
Print quality is good, even with third party cartridges. The printer rarely jams, overall good printer for small office or your home.
<br>
I use the printer from Window, MacOS and Linux computers.

5 of 5 Nice network laser 2/7/2008
chris.corlee from Norman, OK
Great printer for the money. Plugged in to router, ran install cd on each pc, choosing "network" option. Works like a charm. Documentation not very good (what's new?). Very speedy after using ink jets.

4.7 of 5 Good product, lousy documentation 12/1/2007
from Arlingtion, Va
Printer works great on the network. The documentation that came with it was horrible.
It is the simplist thing to setup but it took me hours to figure it out.
3 Steps: 1) connect it to your router & turn it on
2)run SETIP
3)goto each printer and add a printer on an IP port

5 of 5 great printer on 3 operating systems 11/29/2007
from Pacifica, CA
I quickly had this printer connected to my Ethernet switch and working for Windows 2000, Mac Mini Intel with OS X 10.4.10, and Linux 2.6 (Ubuntu 7.04). Using the printer's web interface I was easily able to assign it a static IP address. My Mac uses it as a PostScript compatible printer. My last laser printer was 9 years old so this is blazing fast in comparison. Only the Mac printer-queue administration software is flawed and took a little effort to uninstall. A great printer for the money.

5 of 5 great printer 11/28/2007
from Radford, VA
I have only had the printer for a little over a month, but am very happy with it. I have it networked with a windows xp laptop and an ubuntu linux desktop printing to it. set up was very easy. I am using the 2550 drivers that come with ubuntu (I think, not at home right now), but it works perfectly. Print speed and quality are good.

4.7 of 5 Very nice light-duty printer! 10/25/2007
Jim from Port Townsend, WA
With the recent Buy.com promotion, free shipping and rebate, my delivered price for this unit was $91; that was impossible to resist, I just had to find out how good a networked laser printer could possibly be for less than 100 bucks.
Turns out, it's very good! Forget any comments from earlier this year about being tricky to set up on a network and being an ugly beige color - both have been fixed in the unit I received Oct. 2007.
Network setup couldn't have been easier; it's all done from the primary install CD (there are also a Network utilities and Vista CDs in the box, neither of which I needed). Just run "typical network installation" and it's done. Worked perfectly the first time on both my wired WinXP desktop and wireless WinXP notebook computers.
Print quality (600 or 1200dpi) is fine, there are many driver options if you wish and it's now a handsome two-tone grey color.
Conclusion: it's an amazing home or office light-duty printer at a great price.

5 of 5 Easy to install and quit fast 9/26/2007
from upstate, ny
I recently purchased this printer for my lab and found it to be very easy to use. I love the network option and it was very easy to install the user software on my macs. The output is just as fast my $300 laserjet with no difference in quality. No duplexing option which I would have liked. But for the price, it is tough to beat this printer's speed, ease of use, quality, and networking capability.
