5 of 5 Mac-compatible, Excellent Thursday, January 28, 2010
Clint Bradford from Mira Loma CA

Fits in your hand nicely. Is RF (not IR) - so you can just let it sit in you hand at any normal position (you don't have to point it at the computer). Placing the USB transmitter into the body of the pointer is actually a "power switch" - so make sure you place it in the pointer's body when you are finished. I use this pointer weekly with my MacBook Pro.

5 of 5 The Gold Standard of Presenters Monday, August 31, 2009
Joe from Dania Beach, FL
This purchase was for a replacement and back-up unit, I have used this model for several years 2 to 3 times a week at least. I is great, the feel in your hand is very natural for both small and large handed people. It's simple buttons keep it easy to use with out tought, everyone who has used it asks what it is and where do they get one. We have tried cheaper ones over the years some have worked and some not at all, but none have even felt so good.

5 of 5 Good pointer Monday, July 06, 2009
PPT person from Mercer Cty, NJ
Straight ahead, works well. Basic, no frills other than what is needed. Good feature is the battery saver feature that is activated when the USB piece is inserted in base of pointer, disconnecting power until you use it again. I would purchase again and have reccommended to co-workers.

5 of 5 Great product Tuesday, June 02, 2009
NT from Lafayette, LA
Got this item mainly for its laser pointer, without knowing its great design of remote presnetation control functions. After buying 4 green-colored laster pointers, which all failed in a couple of months, I decided to buy this one. It's really an award-winning product, with excellent quality and easy to use. It works as it claimed; strongly recommend it.

4 of 5 Decent product at a decent price. Wednesday, May 06, 2009
Tony from St Louis, MO
Bought this on sale for a good price and it works. Feels good and is simple to use. Looks like it is at least average quality or better. Be aware that it only has buttons for forward and backwards. You can’t scroll or right click to bring up a menu or move the mouse. The laser is controlled by the top button and the bottom will blank the screen. I like the fact that the USB receiver is stored in the fob. It also acts as the on/off switch. When the receiver is stored in the fob it is off and when it is out, it is on. Plug the receiver into the PC and you are ready to go.

5 of 5 Hassle-free presentations, part two Sunday, October 26, 2008
A Customer from Southaven, MS
This is my second presenter. Both my wife and I teach, and use Keynote and PowerPoint presentations in our lectures. I am still using the first one I bought, an earlier version that has performed flawlessly. After my wife tried mine, she wanted one and I bought her the new version. It worked without a hitch right out of the box. The presenter was easily recognized by our Macs (a G4 Powerbook and a Macbook) and has not missed a beat. The batteries on the newer version are more commonly found and easy to change (the battery on the original unit has lasted over 18 months). I really like the range, the pointer, and the on/off switch being located in the antenna storage housing in the unit. I highly recommend this product to anyone who gives presentations.

5 of 5 Indispensable tool Sunday, October 05, 2008
A Customer from Chestertown, MD
This is a great remote for PowerPoint - lightweight, dependable, easy to use, and batteries seem to last forever. More intuitive to use than many I've seen, and the built-in laser pointer is very handy. I have two - one in the office and one in my laptop bag. Highly recommended.

5 of 5 Does what it claims Wednesday, May 28, 2008

This device has great performance and design. It worked well within 60 feet with no problems. We are a church and the computer is hidden in the back behind about ten pews. I was suprised that it worked so well.

5 of 5 Exceeds my expectations !!! Wednesday, December 05, 2007
M. Weiner from Oakland, NJ
This device is extremely easy to use and absolutely exceeds my expectations. All I did was plug it into the USB port and I was able to walk and present from anywhere in the room and manage my presentation easily and accurately. I have tried (and returned) several other products because there was always something that just didn't work as advertised. That is not the case with this device. It works !!!

5 of 5 Works Well Friday, November 30, 2007

It does what it's designed to do. Great for Power Point. It doesn't have a timer and it's not meant to be a wireless mouse. Works well. No complaints.

5 of 5 Great Choice Wednesday, November 28, 2007
A Customer from Chicago, IL
This is a great product. With the discount at the time, I paid under $40 which was well worth it. Anyone that does a lot of PowerPoint presentations will find it to be a nice treat to not have to be teathered to your notebook.

5 of 5 Simple! Wednesday, November 28, 2007
A Customer from Saint Louis, MO
I'm very happy. Just plug it in and it works, whether on a Mac or a PC, running Windows, Solaris, or Linux, using Star Office, Open Office, PowerPoint, or Adobe Reader in Full-screen mode. The "blank screen" button won't cause Adobe Reader to blank its screen, but that's just a limitation of Adobe Reader--not this product. It's a little large in my travel bag, but it feels "right" in the hand. I recommend this product without reservation.

5 of 5 Easy to use-great value Wednesday, November 28, 2007
A Customer from Flemington, NJ
Purchased the product to use with training presentations. Previously used to hit the N key or B key to advance slides. This wireless presenter made the presentation go much more smoothly. Also easy to go backwards. A couple of minutes to learn to use & I was off & running. Highly recommended.

4 of 5 Nice, most of the time Wednesday, November 28, 2007
professor from Virginia
It's a nice little gadget, but not flawless. I bought it after reading glowing reviews, and for the first couple of weeks it performed great. But then it started acting up, failing to respond to some of the functions some of the time. And it somehow blocked one of the computers from recognizing my flash memory stick (thoughts, anyone??), which can be a real problem! But it IS sweet to hold and very intuitive to operate, when it works. The "docking" of the USB remote transmitter is smart. I think that it's money well spent even if you use it just as a laser pointer (which hasn't failed).

5 of 5 Get this product if you do slide presentations Wednesday, November 28, 2007
cer from Pittsburgh, PA
This is the second Kensington Wireless Presenter that I purchased thru Buy.com The first one was great but it went missing when I lost my computer case. So when I decided to replace it there was no question about what I wanted. This product is simple to use without having to look down at the buttons. Hold the presenter in your hand behind your back, walk around the room so you can get close to your audience (it has a great range) and change the slides seamlessly with your lecture. The built-in laser pointer comes in handy, and you don't have to balance two pieces of technology in your hands. My advice: buy this from Buy.com. This company is a pleasure to deal with. I have always had my orders delivered accurately, quickly, and in good condition. Unless you are desperately in a hurry, just get the standard shipping (especially if it is free). It will get to you fast.

5 of 5 Works Great Wednesday, November 28, 2007
The Pixelmiester from Shelby Township, MI
I have made a lot of PowerPoint presentations and have always had to keet my laptop within reach to change slides or had someone do it at my command. This product is really cool and works as advertised. I recently made a presentation where I was able to walk around the room and talk freely with the audience. And, the fact that it also has a laser pointer, what else would you need? I heartily recommend this product to anyone who gives live presentations without any fuss.

1 of 5 Rebate Refusal Monday, November 26, 2007

The product works well. It was sold to me with a rebate of $10 promised. Kensington refuses to honor the rebate. They say that this item is not elgible for a rebate. I believe that you need to work with your vendors to make sure that your proises are valid. Pat Murray 513-608-2641

4 of 5 Does what it says - almost anywhere Sunday, August 12, 2007
Mark from Beavercreek, OH
If you're looking for a bulletproof remote control for PowerPoint and most other presentation software and devices, this is your tool. It does exactly what it is advertised to do, perhaps even a little better. No, it's not Bluetooth which was designed for a reliable working distance of about 2 meters (even though some devices will work up to 10 meters or so). However, it does come with its own USB receiver that plugs into any available USB port. This is specified to work at 60 feet, but I've used it at 100 feet very reliably. If you routinely need to work at a long distance, also pick up a USB extension cord so you can move the receiver stick away from the computer and other sources of interference or shielding. It will work with any software than can be controlled with PgDn (next slide/page/event), PgUp (previous whatever), and the B key (PowerPoint "black the screen"). It works fine with either PC or Apple platforms. This remote is a little bulkier and heavier than some others I've used. For that minor detraction, you get to use standard AAA batteries instead of lithium button cells - much less expensive to operate and easier to find in a pinch since nearly every airport and hotel gift shop has AAA batteries. You also get a handy storage compartment for the USB receiver stick. When you insert the receiver into its slot, that also clicks a switch to turn off the remote so it won't be draining the batteries by transmitting and flashing the laser pointer as you carry it in your computer bag. The case also has a rubber non-slip coating and is contoured to fit your hand...if you drop it, you must have fallen asleep in your own presentation. The only problem with it is that there's no way to make it send anything other than PgDn, PgUp, and B. If the software you're using expects a space bar for next, backspace for previous, and uses B for some other function, tough cookies...hope you can tell your software to expect what this sends. There is no configuration for this that lets you change which virtual-key code is sent by each of the three buttons. The price you pay for simple operation is usually reduced flexibility; this is no exception. The price you pay, however, is very reasonable. If all you need is to be able to go forward and back through a scripted slide show, this is a great way to do it. I bought two.

5 of 5 Kensington Remote Thursday, April 05, 2007
D. Meinke from Grand Rapids, MI
Product work as advertised. Simply plug in USB receiver, get into Power Point and start using. Very simple to operate. Forward and back, blank screen and laser pointer all worked well. Very impressed with range and angle. Worked in front or behind computer. Did not have to aim remote. Could hold at my side and still worked.

5 of 5 This thing is sooooo cool!! Monday, March 19, 2007
A Customer from Chester, CT
I received my own one of these for Christmas after seeing a professor use hers in class all the time. As a teacher, I thought "how cool would that be to have in my own classes?" Well, I use it all the time. It is so easy to install, just plug and play (I have a Mac). The laser pointer is excellent for pointing out important vocabulary words to my students. I can walk around the room and still advanced the slides. I am no longer tied to the presentation station at the front. Gert one. This thing is an awesome piece of technology!

5 of 5 Small, simple, and easy. Monday, February 12, 2007
Ryan from Pittsburgh, PA
This is a great product. My biggest gripe really has nothing to do with this specific product but with the fact that these presenters in general are RF and I don't know why there aren't bluetooth versions of these things available since my laptop (and most everyone elses') has Bluetooth built-in. I would prefer not to have to keep track of a USB receiver dongle. That said, in this case the USB receiver is deftly tucked into the back and completely secure when not in use, and also serves as the on/off switch. Nice engineering touch there. Overall, it is *VERY* simple and easy to use. Unobtrustive in your hand when you're in the middle of a presentation, and easily the best presenter I've used. I like to keep things simple when I'm standing in front of 300 people. Too many buttons and options leads to problems, and will inevitably lead to your rhythm being interrupted in order to deal with your technology. This presenter has four buttons: 1. laser pointer, 2. forward slide, 3. backward slide, 4. "hide"/off. You never have to look at the thing to figure out what you're doing. Very tactile and intuitive. When I plugged the receiver dongle into my Windows XP and Vista PC's, it worked instantly and with *zero* need for configuration. When I plugged the receiver into my Mac PowerBook (OS 10.4) it thought the presenter was a keyboard. I never did find any support options on the Kensington web site for that issue. On my Mac I just continued through the "keyboard" dialogues and assigned it as a generic English/American keyboard (my only option) and now it works just fine, not a single issue. Just very confusing at first to set up since it is a serious leap of logic to think of the presenter as a keyboard. If you like simple, easy, and small with no clutter or confusion, then this product is for you. It is smaller than it looks in the images on this web site and it fits very nicely in your hand. The bottom is rubberized so it grips well and won't slip out of your hand (important when you're giving one of those presentations that induces sweaty palms). A great buy.

5 of 5 Perfect presenter accessory Sunday, February 11, 2007
A Customer from Richmond, VA
I give frequent presentations and I am always tied to my laptop. I had a presentation to give the day after I received it. Without trying it out, I plugged it into my Powerbook a few seconds prior to my presentation and just started using it, it controlled my Keynote slides out of the box and gave me a good laser pointer to boot (something I am always misplacing)

5 of 5 Excellent Product Saturday, February 10, 2007
Andy from South Orange, NJ
It works exactly as it is supposed to. The USB device plugs into the computer and you then change or blank-out slides. There is no loading of a device needed. The changer is rubberized and feels comfortable in the hand. The laser pointer works well. Anyone who uses PowerPoint should have this, especially at this price. It also arrived from Buy.com a day or two after I ordered it with regular shipping!

5 of 5 What a terrific training tool! Saturday, February 10, 2007
Bill Dean from The Woodlands, TX
I have been a corporate trainer for over twenty years. This is the best remote for digital projectors I have ever used. Last week I taught a class with a co-trainer from London who is a bit of a "technophobe". She was so impressed with the simplicity and performance of the Kensington Presenter that she insisted I buy one for her. This little gadget works from any place in the room and you don't have to keep aiming at your computer or projector. It has a forward and reverse, it 'mutes' the screen, and, although I don't use the laser pointer all that often, I'm sure it will come in handy now that I have one. If you do any presentations using a computer, get one of these. It' great.

5 of 5 Great product Friday, February 09, 2007
A Customer from Plymouth, MI
The Kensington Wireless Presenter worked right out of the package - no setup, no problems. The rubberized grip feels good and it is easy to hold and use. Got it when it was on sale so the price was great (bought two... should have bought more!) But still worth the 'regular' price.

5 of 5 Well-designed, compact and easy to use Friday, February 09, 2007
Drew from New York, NY
Great little product. It works well and simply. The built in laser is a great feature, and when not in use, the USB receiver fits in the back of the unit and turns off the power to the laser so you can't accidentally run down the batteries. At under $30, it's a great value. I used it last week for a presentation, and while I didn't test the claimed 60 foot range, it certainly worked well out to 20-25',

5 of 5 Works as advertised Thursday, February 08, 2007
Alan from Cincinnati, OH
This remote control does exactly what it should and exactly what the ads claim for it -- it moves slides forward and back, and is a laser pointer. Much simpler to use than a Keyspan device I bought some years ago. I like the fact that the transmitter is stored within the control unit. It required no software with my Mac.

5 of 5 It just works Tuesday, October 24, 2006
Robert Froese from Houghton, MI
I had an important meeting and an important presentation coming up. It just seemed so much better to have a remote than to have to return to the keyboard to advance my PowerPoint slides. The Kensington remote just plain worked. Out of the box, it worked on the first try with my Power Mac G5 (10.4). Next, it worked on the first try with my Powerbook G4 (10.4). The laser is bright and the controls are simple and efficient. I recommend it enthusiastically.

5 of 5 Keeping it simple! Monday, October 16, 2006
mrichey from Raleigh, NC
This device is more than expected. I was really impressed with the plug & play readiness and the general ease-of-use. The device is simple and yet has all the right features. It does exactly what it is intended to do. The compactness and USB storage are winners. This is the type of device every presenter needs in his or her bag...

5 of 5 What an awesome device!!!! Thursday, October 12, 2006
m2 from Mooresville, NC
As a professional presenter, facilitator, and trainer I find the device invaluable. After using it for almost two weeks straight I would have paid twice as much for the unit. We tested the 60' range and found that it can reach ever further when in line of sight from the receiver. If this unit broke I would purchase another.

5 of 5 Works well - seems better than the previous model Tuesday, September 19, 2006
A Customer from Detroit, Michigan
Reviews of the previous model generally liked it, but said the coin-cell battery was annoying and the receiver could get stuck if inserted incorrectly. Well, this version uses AAA batteries (included), and the receiver can go in either way (rotated 180 degrees) without issue. Plus, this one is black, and, honestly, that's a lot better than the old version's white (no need to draw attention to your remote while you're giving a talk).<br><br> Overall, it's great. The rubberized grip feels great, the laser works, the buttons have a solid tactile feedback, the range is good, and it's *simple*.<br><br> It is a lot thicker than I thought it was (none of the pictures show the thickness). So it fits in my hand nicely, but it doesn't slip into a pocket as easily as I'd like.<br><br> For those who care - it operates by emulating a keyboard. The forward/backward buttons map to Pagedown/Pageup, and the "stop" button (the bottom button) maps to "b" to blank the screen in Powerpoint. No means of changing these is provided.

5 of 5 Perfect for what it Does! Friday, September 08, 2006
A Customer from Anaheim, CA
I'm a trainer and I do a lot of presentations, and this remote is perfect...it has simple buttons (all you need for controlling a Power Point presentation) and a great range (I'm usually 30-40 feet away from my notebook when presenting). There are 2 things that make me give this product 5 stars...first, it's size and weight are comfortable and easy to travel with, and secondly the USB receiver stores inside the unit in such a cool way. It turns off the power when the USB receiver is stored inside the unit...it's pretty cool! I highly recommend this unit.
