yea the ram doesnt cost much, but batch after batch is defective/fails after very little amount of use. had for about 3 months before both sticks went bad. tons of reviews say the same thing, especially after they made the ram single sided instead of double sided like it originally was Was this review helpful?

Installed on a Dell XPS 420 with an Intel Quad Core 6600 processor, running at 2.4 gig. Installation was easy as pie and it works fine. Noticable improvement over previous memory configuration. Has been installed for over two weeks without a single issue. Well worth the price of admission. Used free shipping option and it got here in two days. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Cheap and perfect Wednesday, July 02, 2008 A Customer from New York, NY
I have this memory for about 2 weeks. Installation was easy, and my new rig recognized it as dual 800 on first POST. Runs stable under 1.98 volt, not so hot. Did not try to overclock them yet.
Inexpensive, good looking, stable - what else? Submitted rebate but did not see it yet to be accepted. Prices on memory are droping and I hope to buy 1066 8GB pair for $50 in 2 years to install new MS Windows OS currently under development. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Can not beat Crucial w/rebate Sunday, June 29, 2008 jptt63 from Waco, Texas
I bought this RAM to upgrade my mothers old Dell 4700, and has worked out great. You can really tell the difference between the 512 original memory, and this 4GB's. Where else can you get 4 gigs of good RAM for $50, after the rebates! Go for it. JP Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 I got a bargain Friday, June 27, 2008 A Customer from Middletown, DE
I got this kit for $19.99 after rebate. You can't beat that with a stick. It's 2 gigs, it works, and it's played nice with my pre-existing 4 gigs of mushkin, so it was a steal for me. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great price, great product Friday, June 27, 2008 A Customer from Avon, CT
I bought four sticks and have used them for about a week. I jumped from 1G of RAM to 4G. So far, well worth the investment. Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 defective Friday, June 27, 2008 A Customer from new castle, DE
worked fine when i put it in, so i removed upc for rebate, and the next day my computer started crashing.i have sent the ram back to crucial for replacement, since i can not return the memory to buy.com after removing the upc. this of course is not buy.com's fault.i have bought many items from them, and thier service has been great.not sure how long i will be without the memory, but crucial did not hassle me, and it's lifetime warranty memory.i was not even trying to overclock, or even run at stock, just trying to match my other 2 gigs of stock memory at 5-5-5 15 1.8v. i tried bumping up to 2v, but it didnt help.cpuid shows that its rated to run 5-5-5 15 at 1.8v btw. 4 of 5 Good RAM and cheap Wednesday, June 25, 2008 A Customer from Wilmington, DE
The RAM works fine on my DELL Inspiron, but could not run at 800 MHz when mixed with pre-installed Samsung (800MHZ) chips. However, it runs at 800 MHz without the Samsung chips. The free shipping was too slow, it took almost two full weeks to receive. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Cheap Price, Good Value Tuesday, June 24, 2008 Kenny from Concord, CA
Ordered 2 of these, one for my home PC and one for my work PC. One uses XP, other Vista, both work fantastic. Installed both in under 1 min. Windows loading time is much faster, applications load faster and run smoother. Can't complain yet, and the price is ridiculously cheap. Just waiting for rebates now (fingers crossed) Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 So far, so excellent... Sunday, June 22, 2008 Carl P. from Martin, TN
I bought the 2gb kit and it obviously installs easily. Before I bought this memory, I read a lot of semi-negative and some plain old negative reviews on the memory. I am here to report that this memory is stable and error free, so far. I will check back in a month with further results after a little overclocking action. Was this review helpful?

1 of 5 Got a Dead one Wednesday, June 18, 2008 Mike from Rochester, NY
I got all happy when I was building a new rig and installing 4 of these sticks. When to run it for the first time and I got me a blue screen. Fooled around a bit and finally found out it was one of the sticks that was causing it. Even though I am only using three sticks, my rig is awesome. Would have gotten a 5.9 in Vista but due to lower memory, got a 4.6...... Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good memory but can corrupt Sunday, June 15, 2008 Patrick from Madison, WI
Great 2G memory for a really good price especially after rebate. I bought these Crucial Ballistix 2GB kit from other online store about 2 months ago. The memory was running fine in my AMD x64 5600 gaming computer for about 1.5 months and started getting BOD on both my Vista Ultimate 32bit and Windows XP 64-bit. (I have dual boot since I got 32-bit Vista Ultimate for free from attending a MS event so I had to try it.) I bought the exact same memory 2 weeks ago from Buy.com to replace the defective ones. The problem went away. I contacted Crucial and they are issuing an RMA. Hopefully they'll send replacements for me and I'll have 4G in my system. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Upgrade your HP Pavilion Slimline Monday, June 02, 2008 Tom Webster from Minneapolis, MN
I bought an HP Pavilion Slimline s3100n here on buy.com a few months back and I love it, with the exception of a few performance disappointments on graphics-intensive apps (i.e., games). I bought this Ballistix memory set to upgrade from the stock 1 gig (2 x 512 meg) to the 2 gig max config. Even though the memory speed is rated higher than the computer bus can take full advantage of, it works perfectly in the s3100n and it made a big improvement in performance. Specifically the Windows Experience Index subscore for memory ops per second went from 3.9 clear up to 5.3 (max is 5.9). The subscore for desktop performance for Aero (previously the limiting factor) went from 2.5 to 3.0. All this at an amazingly low price. I really don't think I've ever been happier about the value of any purchase I've ever made. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Works as expected, plus a little more Saturday, April 05, 2008 Randy from Chicago, IL
I've been running with these parts for about a month now (non-stop). They are solidly built and the heat-sinks seem securely attached. I installed them in a GIGABYTE GA-MA74GM-S2H motherboard with a AMD64 X2 5200+ 2.7GHz. I configured them for 2.1v and 4-4-4-12 timing over-clocked to 840GHz. I run intense Bionic SW in the background which really exercises them and have also run UT and Guild Wars w/o incident. I would recommend them to anyone. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 High quality at a great price Wednesday, April 02, 2008 A Customer from Waynesboro, MS

5 of 5 Works as expected... plus a little. Thursday, March 27, 2008 Randy from Chicago
I have these parts running on the GIGABYTE GA-MA74GM-S2H with a Athlon 64 X2 5200+ Brisbane 2.7GHz over-clocked to 2.84Ghz and it performs w/o a hiccup. I have think the BIOS has it running at 5-5-5-15 instead of 4-4-4-12 (the motherboard is not giving me the options to change it) but the memory bus speed is 840MHz because it's over-clocked. I have it running at 2.1v. With the rebate, it's good bang-for-the-buck. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Great price - assuming rebate comes Monday, March 24, 2008 Mike from Viriginia
Very happy with this memory. Popped it into my motherboard and it worked great. I had some concern since the memory says it is 2.2V, and my motherboard supposedly can't handle above 2V memory, but it worked fine. Just waiting for my rebate check now..... Was this review helpful?

(*Although this is the "review" section, I am posting a question 'cause I can't seem to find the info elsewhere**I'll check back soon to see if anyone has commented*)
I am wanting to purchase the Crucial Ballistix 2GB kit (2x 1gb) PC2-6400 DDR2-800Mhz; 2.2V; CL 4-4-4-12. I will be installing it into a Dell Vostro 200 mini; Intel e4550; pre-installed with 1gb (2x 512mb) PC2-5300 DDR2-677Mhz...unknown CL, and I'm certain they run @ 1.8V, although I may be wrong. I already know that if mixed, the performance defaults to the slower module's speed, but I'm questioning the compatibility because of the (listed) voltage difference. Are these two particular types of memory compatible?
Any insight to this matter will be greatly appreciated! Was this review helpful?

1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 4 of 5 Stable, if you get good sticks Thursday, February 14, 2008 A Customer from Vienna, VA
One of the first pair of sticks I bought was bad, so had to RMA. RMA was easy, though a bit slow. I was worried about making the rebate deadline in time. Second pair arrived and are workin flawlessly. I also have a pair of Patriot sticks with the same timing and they play well together. Havn't tried overclocking yet, but will try soon. 5 of 5 WOW, for this deal- no brainer! Sunday, December 16, 2007 Luke from Dixon, IL
Lets face it, for the pc2-6400 sticks running at the lower timings of 4-4-4-12 this was a super deal. There was no problems and I even overclocked them just a bit. They run fast and stable while looking nice too (if that matters). Great ram at a great price! Was this review helpful?

I bought this memory to use in Dell XPS 420. I purchased the Dell with 2GB of 800MHZ memory on board and this would bring me to a total of 4GB of 800MHZ Memory. Unfortunately, Dell didn't document that their OEM memory runs at 1.8volts. This memory runs at 2.2volts. As a result of the differing voltages adding this kit to the machine made all 4GB run at 667MHZ. Of course it took some time to deal with Dell to discover this undocumented issue and as a result I have exceeded the time allowed to return this memory. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Works Great, Fine Product Friday, November 30, 2007 Anthony Bollinger from Vermont
Easy to install, memory has great reputation, works just fine. I installed it an upgraded to Vista. If Vista worked half as well as this memory (take it out of the box and it *actually* works) then Microsoft would be king. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good Stuff!! Thursday, November 29, 2007 Kevin from Colorado Springs, CO
Put it in an it was a notisable improvment - when I got my computer built last year these where almost $300.00 EACH! I thought the price would drop and it is now cheaper than the RAM I got for my 386 back in the 1980s' and that was megebytes not Gigabytes!!!
1 more happy camper! Was this review helpful?
