I've had this for a year. Maybe it's out of date now. It ran with bugs as some had said. But eventually, I was able to burn stuff. Audio worked with no problems. Video sometimes had troubles. There was a huge service pack available. It wouldn't install. Apparently, the Nero Express 5 my computer came with was the problem. I deleted it. Installed the full Nero 7, then uninstalled it. Then tried installing the service pack but still wouldn't. So I used with bugs, though infrequently. Then had to get a new computer. Was finally able to install the service pack, and has worked better. Don't know about other brands. But Roxio's of about 3 years ago was so simple and pleasure to use. Things get better, but less humanly friendly. Anyway, Nero installs a lot of stuff. I don't think all is necessary. Especially the scout that runs constantly in the background. Best to disable it. Does the job for any kind of video and audio. But not good enough for me to try another brand next time. Was this review helpful?

Pretty much the same as Nero 6 with a few little additions. Still cannot create movies that alternate from video, to still photos, to video, etc. etc. TV Capture function IS NOT compatable with Sony Giga Pocket. Simply capture TV/Video with the Giga Pocket software, and then import into Nero. One extra step, but nothing to get your panties in a wad about. Well worth the money....I recommend. Nero 7.0 is easy to load, easy to use and easy to keep.
I found that making DVDs from my camcorder to be a cinch.
Nero is set to automaticly que up and it's simple to understand GUI makes encoding and editing a breeze. Whether you're just getting started or seasoned software user.. NERO 7.0 is the one.

Purchase Nero on the advise of a co-worker. I previously used another product, but I got tired of all the bad burns I got with it.
I have been using this product for a few weeks, and I am only becoming aware of all the advanced options that are available to the “power” user.
So far it has been a great! It have been very reliable and trouble free. Nero 7 is worth the price for all the advanced options.

I was looking for a better way to burn then what I could get from XP or Media Player. They worked to some extent, but I needed more then what they could provide. I found more and then some - Nero 7. All of the tools and features I have in Nero 7 let me create projects and have fun with my movie making/copying. A lot more then “included” software was offering me. I researched the products and Nero seamed to be more ready to adapt to new needs and new technology, like the upcoming BlueRay high definition DVD authoring. The whole family is quite happy with Nero. From making backups of kid disks to prevent mangleing to backups for priceless family photos, all of us are useing Nero with a minimum of fuss. It gets used every day--from a copy of a Word file to the weekly backup onto DVD of the PST files from our master computer, Nero has proven a easy and fast way to help us with music, video and data. I have never worked with a video making product that was so easy to work with and yet so robust that I could create professional looking Video DVDs and Video CDs. Buy the product, and try dubbing into any boring movie, audio segments captured from your favorite movies, television shows, and cartoons. The resulting movie will give you hours of laughter. I love what Nero 7 Ultra Edition has to offer. To be able to capture, create, edit, burn, and even backup files is unbelievable. I can not believe the options it gives me to experience and create my own digital media. I am a beginner to the digital media game and I like that it gives me simple user controls to find and figure out how to get the job done. It was simple to load up and even offers me free updates on all of the programs it has to offer. This suite makes it easy to turn my photos in slideshows with music and even create VCD’s to share with my family.

Nero 7 stands head and shoulders above the crowd in its category. The user interface is easy to understand and each module works perfectly.
I use it for archiving photos, making data and music CD's and doing system backups. In additon, I found some fun stuff to play with like the Wave Editor. I find I can easily spend hours messing with this product.

Nero 7 is a great piece of software for any video enthusiasts and completely user friendly. It’s an all in one stop for music, photos, TV (with a tuner card), videos, etc. I use it to stream media files over a media server. My kids like to transform their digital photos into professional animated slideshows. I like to backup all of my valuable data with the scheduler and I’m able to manage and search for media files, edit video or photos, create DVDs and compress files to place on my PDA. I absolutely love this product. I would never use another product for burning my CD's or DVD's. Will burn Apple formats as well.It is quick and easy to use. I am able to burn anything, and I love the Recode feature which allows me to rip my movies so that I can make backups of the DVD's that I own to save me money when my kids scratch a DVD. I have never seen such an easy and functional media playback feature like Nero Showtime which handles every file type imaginable. Was this review helpful?

I have been using Nero for many years and this is the best software they have had. I just thought I was happy with version 6 there are so many new and exciting things in this version it made my head spin. All the support for HD, the new easy to use interface, the incredible sound mixing and support for Dolby 5.1 and 7.1. The 2 and 3D animated templates. the new Nero Scout, the organizing of your files, to make them easy to find. There are so many things you can do now. I am converting many of my files now to Nero Digital, to save room on my lap top when I travel, but still take lots of movies with me. The audio support kicks the previous versions all over the place. They have HDV capture support, and extended capture device support, so you can make some great looking video you can be proud of. Every one should have a copy of this program, it has made my DVD and CD burning and editing a breeze. Was this review helpful?

This is very powerful suite with every imaginable burning, audio, and video application included inside. Even though it’s a big suite of programs it has an easy interface that makes it easy to use by taking you through any project step by step. However by keeping the interface a separate application it doesn’t limit the features of the program, and advance users can access the different applications directly. I too fell in love with Nero 7, it was easy to use for my purposes (Data CDs, Music CDs and watching DVDs plus burning a recovery disc--my first and only burn for DVD and it worked. Years ago I must have ruined 10 (then) very expensive CDs trying to do a music CD.
