I've used something like 100 of the Verbatim DVD+R DL blanks, and have never had one fail. Excellent product. Lately I can only seem to buy these in 10 packs. I used to be able to get 20 packs. A 100 pack option would be nice with some sort of price break.
Before I got smart, I was using Memorex, and out of a package of 25 I had about 4 that failed when the writer got to the 2nd layer. The DL blanks are way to expensive to put up with that sort of a failure rate. Was this review helpful?

In this case, you really, really do.
I have a Plextor PX-716A. It's been nasty about using the cheap Memorex DLs, rejecting maybe 1 in 5 during verification after recording, or more. But I haven't had a single reject in well over 120 straight of these Verbatims. Also, I can burn them at 6X. So I consider the price premium over the other brand to be very slight, actually I'm getting a bargain when factoring the cost of the bad burns with the other brand. Was this review helpful?

I see tons of reviews about other dual layer media that people have tried and failed. With the expense of the dual layer discs, it's like adding 'insult to injury'. I've used the Verbatims exclusively since I bought my Pioneer DVR-109 burner back in September '05 and out of over 70 burns I have NO COASTERS. I bought the latest batch from this website for the cheapest price yet (~$3 / disc) and am very pleased.
The cheaper Memorex (among others) are tempting, but do your homework online before committing. You're bound to find reviews for your particular burner and see what's worked for other folks out there. I definitely recommend Verbatim's product. Was this review helpful?

Bought the Memorex DL disks here and *ALL* were coasters - complete junk. They identified as "Ritek" media. You could see imperfections in their coating under light - that's bad!
So I then bought these Verbatims and every one is perfect. No hassles, no bad disks, just put them in my drive and burn baby, burn. Great disks! Was this review helpful?

FINALLY, after decades of waiting, Verbatim is !no longer! the Yugo of recordable media. They have graduated from pariah to paragon of their industry by any DVD/RW manufacturer's standards.
