My lcd tv was pixelating. The cable guy checked the signal, not strong enough for tv and PC, so run one at a time? Not hardly. Bought the booster and when tv picture was poor I hooked it up, turned it on and "presto" great picture since!!!!!!!! Been three months, (I write few reviews) but this is the answer if you need to up your weak signal......very happy with it all, would buy it again. Was this review helpful?

I bought this hopeing to improve my cable reception. I have several 6-way splitters that break off the main cable, each time you split you lose some signal power. This more than restored the power back, my pictures are great now, its worth every penny I spent. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 A must for Digital and HD cable TV Thursday, August 06, 2009 NeoCoffee41 from Monticello, IL
Just got mine last night. As suggested in the instructions I split out the Cable Modem and VOIP line, and put this before all of my cable TV runs and it did exactly what it was supposed to do. All of my standard, HDTV, and digital channels on three different TV's in my house all have great, clean, signals now. None of my premium channels (HBO HD, Showtime HD, TNT HD) channels show any sign of pixelation like they did before. Recorded a half-dozen HD shows on my TiVo HD last night and they all came out perfectly. As long as you use the booster like they recommend in the instructions you should be fine. It even comes with a spare coax cable to make it easy for you to add it to your setup. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Fixed it all. Wednesday, July 22, 2009 A Customer from Grayslake, Illinois
Solved all my cable picture quality problems. Channels are clearer, lock-in quicker and no more pixelation. Mounted just inside the house where the cable comes and drives the entire house through a four set splitter. Just make sure you have a clear signal to start with or you may see no help or even make things worse. Keep it as close to the incoming signal as possible.

When I hooked it up right before the TV and it made no difference but when I hooked it up at the main point on the house the product fixed all my inference problems immediately. All the channels come in great on all the TV's. HD channel signal is much higher also. Internet works with the product which is a plus and notice no change to internet speed. This was worth every cent because I thought I would have to rewire the whole house to get channel 4 and channel 95 to come in without inference. Love this product. It works so much better then the RCA stuff I tried with no change at all. To some it up: Buy it, It works great! Was this review helpful?

Motorola signal booster is expensive but it increased the image and signal quality of my TV and I was able to see some channels that were blurry. I will recommend it to anyone who needs to improve his TV image quality. It works! Was this review helpful?

I am using this for my home-brew DVR computer, and with this signal booster, I am now able to pick up all the HD channels I should have been getting, and the signal strength is anywhere from 90 to 100%. Has also improved the quality of my analog cable channels. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great improvement Sunday, May 17, 2009 A Customer from Alabama
All 3 TVs in the house were fuzzy on the higher cable channels (50-70). (no cable boxes.) Put this in front of all three, at the point where the cable enters the house, and saw an instant improvement. No noticeable fuzziness at all anymore! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Awesome, Worked! Perfectly Sunday, May 17, 2009 Richard from Woodside, NY
I currently have Cable Modem for Internet, in the evening when everyone is online, the download speed begins to drops, a friend recommended this booster to see if it would help.
It DID! Not only that, the download speed is higher then it should be, the upload speed stayed the same.

5 of 5 Great for over the air signal Friday, May 01, 2009 A Customer from Central NY
I'm on my second one of these. Works great for both digital and analog signals. Huge improvement over when using without the unit.
I strongly recommend hooking this up to a surge protector. That was the reason I needed a second one of these.
BTW, if you don't see an improvement with one of these, it's likely that you have a defective unit. Have it replaced. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Signal Booster Sunday, April 26, 2009 A Customer from Collingswood, NJ
I dont know why some people say there was no change in the signal quality when they installed this perhaps they have other issues such as bad coax cables. I installed this very easily & noticed the signal quality more than doubled in strength & I was able to pull in more channels..WORKS FOR ME Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 No change Thursday, March 26, 2009 D9 from Spartanburg, SC
Can't say that I noticed any change in my cable strength. I can turn this on or off, and see no difference in picture reception; I still get the occasional "weak signal" warning from my HDTV. In fact, I noticed more of a difference by disconnecting non-used cable connections in the house from the main cable.
Easy enough to install but much more bulky than I thought it would be, including the AC power cable. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Works as Promissed Wednesday, March 04, 2009 Phil from Michigan
Due to a couple of signal splits my computers were getting sluggish, especially when computers and TV's were working simultaneously. This boosted the signal, solving my problem. Simple to install - though in my circumstances I had to run an outlet, and works as indicated. Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Incredible Performer! Monday, March 02, 2009 Bob B from Sandwich, MA
I will admit I was quite skeptical, or at least I as doubtful that this little unit could make a difference in my cable, Internet and overall boost my service that I would really notice but I just figured what the heck I would give it a try. Well to my surprise this little signal booster made a HUGE difference in the picture quality in every TV in our home and also made a dramatic difference in the strength of our wireless modem for Internet throughout our house. Super easy to install follow the easy directions, plug it in and voilà, every aspect of our signal was better. I also use Vonage for phone service and the quality and clarity of our Vonage service also was noticeably better. Based on my experience you will not be disappointed with this nice little Motorola Signal Booster. It lived up to its promise and far and away exceeded my expectations! Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Answer to my weak cable signal Tuesday, February 24, 2009 Jeff from Huntsville, AL

1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Worth every penny Monday, February 23, 2009 JuanCarlos from PA
I bought this device because I recently moved a TV we had in a bedroom to the attic which is now used as a playroom for my younger children and exercise room for my wife. After we moved the TV we learned the signal was severely degraded. After reading earlier posts I decided to give this a try and I'm happy I did. The picture has increased 10 fold and you would never believe there was an issue before. Just keep in mind that the device will only boost the signal you give it so don't install it at the problem TV. Look for where the cable first enters you house and install the signal booster there. 5 of 5 This thing realy works Wednesday, February 11, 2009 Wayne from Los Angeles, CA
I tried to install a new wireless "N" router, but the router would not receive the signal from the cable modem (TWC). I installed the Motorola signal booster and now the router works. The "N" router need a strong signal to work. Internet works OK after install. The signal booster allows two way signal traffic.
Actually I called cable co tech. They boosted the signal to get the "N" router to work, but it stopped working during a rain storm (rain weakens the signal in my area) then I installed the booster to get the router going again. Was this review helpful?

1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Works great with cable Sunday, February 01, 2009 A Customer from Houston Texas
I have comcast cable and 7 tvs plus a cable modem. Two tvs and the cable modem come off the first splitter and were working well, but the more distant tvs had a poor picture and wouldn't pick up many of the QAM digital channels. I installed 2 of these amplifiers in the distribution system and now all the tvs have a good picture on analogue stations and I get all the QAM digital channels very well. This amplifier does work with cable modem (2 way) and will boost your signal, but you do need to install it properly, i.e. where the cable enters the house. I also put a second at the next splitter. 5 of 5 Solved Problem With No Issues Sunday, January 25, 2009 A Customer from MASS.
This signal booster solved the problems I had with my signal loss.
After I rewired my whole house with rg6 18 gauge wire three 5-2300 mega hertz splitters I still I could not get some channels I get on a tv closer to where cable comes in. Now I have all the channels I should get with no video pix drops or audio drops great product in my opinion. Also I do live in a very rural area so I don't think the signal is the best to begin with.Just one tip you have to install it right where your cable comes in then split from there otherwise you are trying to boost a split signal which is already weaker. Installed early in the line, between cable entry and splitter, to boost OTA digital signal. This single unit works as well, if not better, than the previous two-piece preamp that died a few months ago. It does require power, but since it is fed over coax, it may be possible to stretch it a bit longer than the 6' coax that came with this unit (not positive, but maybe).
I don't get any more channels than before, but all channels have improved in signal strength by about 40% across the board.
Overall, it seems a solid product that does as advertised, and BUY.COM is fantastic. Was this review helpful?

We purchased Motorola's signal booster with a television antenna after deciding to drop cable television (saves us hundreds per year). The signal booster took a good signal and turned it into a great signal - we now get over 20 television stations, all in cable-quality HDTV, from our antenna. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Cable signal corrected Saturday, November 15, 2008 A Customer from Middletown, N.J.
This booster did exactly what I had hoped for when I purchased it and that was to eliminate pixelization on HD channels with my cable signal. I have not had ONE incident since installing this booster and installation was so simple the word "foolproof" comes to mind. I highly recommend this Motorola booster to anyone having signal problems with their cable service since you will not be dissapointed. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Exactly what I needed Thursday, November 13, 2008 Paul from San Francsico, CA
Performed exactly as expected. My internet had finally stopped working after the cable company (I suspect) put in another tap for a new neighbor. The signal was simply too weak -- but adding this device inline fixed the problem. My signal strength jumped back into working territory and my HD DVR has fewer incidents where the screen degrades to a blocky video signal as well. High marks! Was this review helpful?

The product works great this is actually the second signal booster I purchased I bought one for my computer and one for my television. The only issue I had was with the shipping the first time I ordered the product it was never sent out when I called I was told they have to wait to get approval to send out a second product (even though the first one was never sent) which took an additional week to get. So a three day shipping took almost three weeks unacceptable. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent for Cable Wednesday, November 12, 2008 A Customer from Neptune, NJ
Excellent buy if your cable modem signal is too weak. It boosted my signal from -6db to +7 db, very impressive. With such a boost, my phone and internet connection work uninterrupted, my digital channels are also always available, contrary to the past. However, it performs poorly when used with an outdoor antenna for analog and digital broadcasts whether it’s mounted near the antenna or the TV. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Works for me! Monday, November 03, 2008 A Customer from Kernersville, NC
I had to split off my cable modem BEFORE boosting the signal to the TV's-a problem with data return necessary for the modem to work.
(I had a couple of cable channels that were bleeding thru that were not included with my package. So I thought I would try the Motorola booster to see if they would come thru. Although not quite as good as the channels I am paying for but very watchable nonetheless.) Just what I had hoped for! Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Fixed audio droputs Wednesday, October 22, 2008 Paul Beddows from Abbotsford, BC Canada
I bought this amp on the advice of someone who said it fixed the audio dropout problems with their cable service (DVR box with HD). I was experiencing 2 second audio dropouts 2 or 3 times an hour, plus pixelation. I have 8 outlets in the house counting my VCR & DVD player. Since installing this, I have gone a week without one audio dropout & picture quality on most channels has improved considerably. Well worth the money. I installed it where the cale enters the house. 5 of 5 Works great for me Wednesday, October 22, 2008 A Customer from Alexandria, VA
We have cox in our area and are on basic cable; that is the cable feeds directly into our TV (we don't have set-top box). The reception was always fuzzy and unclear on most of our channels; after reading the many reviews on this product (both for and against) I decided to try it. I connected between the wall and the splitter we use (one for TV one for internet) and it cleared those channels right up. I am very satisfied with its performance; I will say that I haven't noticed any increased speed on the internet, but I wasn't expecting that. As always is the case when I buy from Buy.com, it arrived quickly after ordering. Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Cable Booster is Amazing Tuesday, October 21, 2008 A Customer from Seattle, WA
We've had Comcast to the house 5 times for a terrible picture. Every time they say nothing is wrong even though the picture on both LCD TVs is poor. I bought this booster thinking, "It can't get worse". It takes less than 5 minutes to hook it up and the picture quality is amazing. Our low definition stations are as good as the high definition stations were. The high def. stations are so vivid it's amazing. If you've got a poor quality signal it's worth trying this to see if it helps. Comcast support is awful the Motorola signal booster is GREAT! We also struggled with packet loss on the internet. That seems to have also gone away. Best $40 we've spent in a long time. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Better Results than Expected Tuesday, October 14, 2008 Davis from Warrenville, IL
My family's home is on the Iron Range near Marble, MN. The nearest broadcast station is in Hibbing about 20 miles away. The next two stations are in Duluth, MN; about 90 miles away. So far as I can determine, only the Hibbing station is broadcasting a digital signal. The standard receiving analog antenna is mounted to the roof, about 25 feet above the ground. The antenna lead is 100 feet of coax cable, and is split, one lead to the TV, the other to the VCR. The Hibbing digital broadcast is receivable about 95% of the time, with tiling and picture and sound freeze happening the remaining 5% of the time. That translates to a picture/sound freeze about 3 or 4 times a minute (lasting about 2 to 3 seconds each time), with random tiling 100% of the time. Once this product was inserted in antenna line, upstream of the splitter, the digital picture never breaks up, even during heavy rain, and the analog broadcasts from Duluth look nearly as good as cable. Before the amp was installed, the signal strength meter in the digital to analog converter occasionally reached the 1/3 mark of the meter scale. After inserting the meter, the signal strength improved to 2/3 of the meter scale.
My home is in the Chicago area, about 30 miles west of downtown. Most stations broadcast in digital, which I receive through an antenna in the attic, about 13 feet above the ground. Some of the station's picture (and sound) breaks up as described above, and as luck would have it, the PBS broadcast is one of the worst. Inserting this amplifier corrected all but one broadcast's problems (there are a total of about 24 channels and sub-channels currently being digitally broadcast in Chicago), and this is from a station that gets little viewing.
While this unit will not solve every problem, it solved most of mine. Ideally, this amp should be in the antenna line as close the the antenna as possible, an option I have not yet tried at my home. The unit is well built and I have hopes that it will last for long time. It can remain plugged in, and does not get hot or even warm to the touch; always the mark of good electronics. If your digital reception is as I describe above, I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the improvement. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 It definitely improves OTA TV signals..... Monday, October 13, 2008 TJEN from Tampa, FL
I hooked it up with my over-the-air (attic / rooftop) antenna TV....it definitely improves the signals (I have 8 TVs in the house). Most TV stations, analog or digital, are definitely a lot more clear than without it. The OTA HD channels are really the best (non-compressed HD signals), if you can live with and only watch the major networks (NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox, PBS, WB, etc.) and local channels, and they are all FREE over-the-air!
Buy.com has really fast shipping, and the price is as good as any other online store. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Fixed my LCD Projection TV Signal Friday, October 10, 2008 A Customer from Bel Air, MD
I have a 6 way splitter where my cable comes into the house and then a two way splitter and a three way splitter throughout the house. I just purchased a used LCD projection TV and my signal was grainy and the other TV's were sometimes clear and at other times grainy. I also have cable internet that was never affected (to my knowledge) by the line losses that the TV's were displaying. After installing this just as the signal came into the house it fixed all the TV signals and the picture on all the TV's look great. Was this review helpful? Click here to see all 137 reviews
