Canon PIXMA MP780 Photo All-in-One Print/Copy/Scan/Fax

I wrote my first "Worth Every Penny" review only a couple weeks after getting my MP-780. I've been using it now for 8 months and still love it...Excellent print quality, plus it is fast and quiet. Scan image quality is great, too. I'd also like to add that I've been very impressed with how long the ink lasts -- a very nice surprise indeed! The only (minor) issue I've had, I believe to related to me leaving it on 24x7, and my power occasionally being flaky -- most likely NOT an issue with the printer itself: Just a couple of times, after having gone unused for a week or more, the unit got "confused" -- it wouldn't scan -- it said "warming up", and then wouldn't clear that state. Simply unplugging the power and plugging it back in corrected the problem. (I already have my UPS loaded to the max with many other things, which is why I don't have the printer plugged into it...but I supposed I should just buy a bigger UPS.) I still definitely say, if you're considering the MP-780, buy it.

Its performance with graphics is excellent; however, text looks fuzzy and out-of-focus. Because of the poor text quality, this printer is not appropriate for business use (but, for the price, what can you expect?) If I'd known the text quality was this bad, I would have put the money toward a color HP LaserJet. Other annoyances: the ink smears easily; and the printer behaves very badly with non-Canon ink cartridges, so be prepared to buy the expensive Canon replacement cartridges. Overall, it's a good, cheap printer for personal use.

I have been absolutely impressed with the Canon Pixma MP780 since I first installed it 3 months ago. Being a small business owner I needed a machine that could handle high-resolution image scanning, faxing, b/w document & color printing and also photo quality printing. This machine does them all and does them VERY well. I replaced 3 machines with this one unit and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Just read the reviews of this product on this site, Amazon.com and PC Magazine and you will see that this multi-funtion stands in a league by itself for ease of use, overall quality, available functions, and all at a super resonable price. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

I've had mine for almost a year now. I must have run 30,000 pages through it. The quality is as good today as it was the day I unpacked it - even though I use third party cartridges. The ONLY problem I have had is that the fax send defaults to 14.4 KB which some other faxes have trouble with. Reset this to 9600 and everything is wonderful. Even the duplexing works flawlessly.

Excellent in terms of print quality, scanning – particularly the ability to load 20 pages with ADF, and fax management. One problem to be aware of – the USB driver may conflict with other USB devices such as external hard drives. The computer fails to recognize external hard drive if the MP780 is already attached – depending on computer (happens with Gateway 700GR). Solution is to disconnect MP780, connect external hard drive, and then reconnect MP780.

I've had mine for only a couple weeks, so I haven't used it a lot to know about durability, but from what I've seen so far, I'm very impressed and happy with my purchase. Setup was a breeze. Printing quality is wonderful...and pretty darn fast...and surprisingly quiet. I'm also quite happy with the scanner quality. I've only sent and received one fax, but given that the fax features are dependant on the scanner and printer with which I'm very happy, I'm sure that fax quality will be as good as a fax can be. I'm a very picky person, and I'm impressed...so if you're considering the PIXMA MP780, I'd say to get it.

This unit has some really surprising bonus features that I love, like the duplex printing and automatic document feeder. It scans super fast, faxes great, and prints astonishingly vibrant and flawless color graphics and photos. There's a cool front door that you can close when not in use to keep it looking sleek - it opens automatically when something gets printed. Another awesome feature that I discovered by accident is that you can actually scan a document directly into pdf format! I'm shocked they let you do this without having to buy the full Adobe Acrobat product.every job I've had to do so far has been failry quick and easy. With a great price HOW CAN YOU GO WRONG WITH THIS THING...Another reason to LOve BuY.com
