4 of 5 Nice product, minor flaws Saturday, September 17, 2005
    Raj from Collegeville, PA

This is a nice product and works well in most scenarios. The initial setup might seem an overkill for casual users. But after everything is setup, the product works well. My two complaints with the product are: 1. Doesn't work if your home network is WPA encrypted, works with WEP though. Also, if you are adding this to an existing 802.11G network, you will only get 802.11b speeds all throughout your network. 2. Not USB 2.

    5 of 5 It rocks! Friday, July 29, 2005
    beergeek from Wayne, PA
Initially I could not connect to it to get it configured and spent some time on the phone with IOGear support. I had to send it in (to IOGear) and received a working unit in reasonable time. It's been working flawlessly ever since (at least 3 months). It's somewhat technical to connect to it and get it configured. I would recommend it despite the problem, especially at this price.

    4 of 5 Handy device Monday, April 25, 2005
    David from Collierville, TN
Very useful device, once you get it set up. Bottom line: Has worked flawlessly for the month I've had it, although it took quite a bit of tinkering to get it to work (probably my fault). Printing a multiple-page document will be noticably slower than when connected to the computer - a pause between each page while document is transmitted at 10mbs. Capable of WEP wireless security, but not WPA.(WPA is much more secure) With my Dlink wireless router (and all others, I suspect) I must revert the entire network back to WEP to accommodate the printer server.

    5 of 5 Awesome Service Friday, March 25, 2005
    Joe from Wilmington, DE
I can't say more about the service department. I got this item and was having an issue with the set up. I called the customer service line and they walked me thru my problem. They do not have a toll free number but who buys this item and does not have a cell phone that can call anywhere in the US? I love it!

    5 of 5 Finally! Thursday, March 17, 2005
    A Customer from Washington DC
I've got computers all over the house, both Macs and PCs. I wanted to be able to print from any computer to my printer, without the hassle of hardwiring, switches, etc., or having to explicitly choose the printer each time. I found my solution in this little gadget. The included setup software was rather vague about how exactly you get this baby going, especially if you're connecting both PCs and Macs, but since I worked out the kinks, it has worked for weeks without any glitches. I did find that it works best when the device is assigned a static IP address -- DHCP is available, but just doesn't work consistently. While the included Admin utility only runs in Windows, the built-in utility, accessed via a browser, allows you to configure the thing either in Windows or OS X, just like a router. I've been having great luck with IOGEAR devices recently. My little USB KVM switch allows me to use the same keyboard, monitor and trackball with both the Mac and the PC in my office, and it takes up no space, AND there's nothing to configure, unless you want to change the keystrokes that flip you between platforms, or the keyboard emulation. And now, I can print directly from either machine, too. With what this print server cost me, this was a deal I could not refuse. I'm glad I didn't.

5 of 5 Work Flawlessly with both XP and OS X!!! Saturday, February 26, 2005
    A Customer from Columbia, MO
I set up this print server with my Samsung ML-1710. A Windows PC with wireless connectivity is required for first time SSID and WEP Key configuration. I use a PC with Windows XP and my wife uses iBook G4. On the XP machine, I installed the printer as indicated in the manual. On the iBook, I used IP Printing (HTTP), not AppleTalk, with the URL "http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/lp1" in Windows IIP section of the manual. Both machines can now print via the print server flawlessly. Mission accomplished. Note: Good owner's manual for Windows. However, it doesn't say anything about Mac OS X installation, only Mac 8.x and 9.x.

5 of 5 It worked despite me! Friday, June 25, 2004
    Beth from Sharpsburg, MD
I goofed on the first install wizard and so during the 2nd, it couldn't locate the server. I called tech support and a real live American answered after being on hold for merely 10 seconds. He patiently helped me reset the product and walked me through the setup. And even though my Epson Stylus Photo 1280 wasn't on his lists, it worked! I'm using a Netgear router and card. I give a 4 for both ease and performance because #1) for a 5 on Ease it wouldn't have led me to goof up on the install and #2) my second test page printed rather slowly. The other 3 printed at normal speed, however.
