Philipp, your other radar detector is leaking signals. That is why the Cobra is constantly beeping. Since the Cobra does not leak, your other detector was silent :)
That is how (in states where they are illegal)cops detect if you have a radar detector.
This is a great detector! No, everytime you drive by the cops it won't go off. Cops are smart. They look for the speeders, then zap them using instant on. Their radar is not constanly on. So if you get zapped, your detector will go off and it's too late. Was this review helpful?

This radar detector constantly beeps no matter if in city or highway mode. I drove on the Freeway from the suburb to the city. I set it next to my Valentine One to compare. The V1 was silent while the Cobra was constantly alarming in X, K, and Ka Band. There were no cops. I know it's not going to be as good as the 10 times more expensive V1, but at least get me from A to B. Unfortunately it doesn't even do that. Was this review helpful?

Works as described. Nice and loud and lowers itself on a constant notification so it doesn't drive you crazy. Normal amount of falses but all of them are the same. Highly recommend. Great value for the price. Was this review helpful?

I bought for the same reason as others, protection and potential ticket prevention. If it saves me a ticket then it is well worth the price. So far, So good, no issues, worked great out of the box. Many false alarms but that is to be expected. Love the way it alerts loudly at first then quietly until threat is gone. Would like to find way to default in City mode upon initial power on. I bought this just to be on the safer side and thinking that even if it saves me one ticket then its worth it. Didnt do that so far so not sure if I was right. The biggest thing I dont like about this is that it gives me so many alarms that for no reason I get worried and slow down which is kinda helpful as well to control my speed from time to time. wonderful little detector for the money- had one of the bigger cobras for 5 years, then the led's started wink out. This 6 band doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the other one but does all I need for a third the price Was this review helpful?

This is a nice product. You can adjust the volume so it's not annoying.
The product comes with a sticker over the display that is printed with various symbols to show you what the alerts are. Stupidly, I did NOT REALIZE that the sticker should be removed ! I noticed the display was 'dim' and think I read something to that effect in another review - that said the 'new model' had bigger display, etc.
Well, I finally noticed a corner of the sticker peeling up.. and duhhh.. i got it - and removed the sticker. The display is plenty bright !! It works great. I love it. ANd - IT'S CHEAP.
Why pay more ? Unless you're a psycho racing coast to coast this will do you fine. It'a all black, no reflective chrome to reflect sunlight and blind you.
