The thing that drew me into buying both the eee701 and eee1000 laptops was the ability to purchase the cheaper linux versions for 50 to 100 less. Considering that if you're not going to be running regular windows programs anyway but just surf or use it as a convenience PC why bog it down with antivirus and all those services that only slows down the computer to a crawl. It seems to me at this price point this thing will be no more than a nice-to-have instead of a gotta-have. Was this review helpful?

I would highly recommend this computer for everyday computing. If you have small children, the touchscreen aspect is great, my kids love it. The whole thing is very nice looking and does not take up much space. Was this review helpful?
