This monitor uses less energy than comparable items, has excellent controls and out-of-the-box color settings, has VGA, DVI, and HDMI.... what more could you want? I'm using it as a bedroom television connected to a media center extender, and COULDN'T be more thrilled!

This is my first widescreen which is replacing a $600 'letterbox' 19" Sony. While the Sony is technically brighter, you can't beat the enormity of this 23" widescreen. My only complaint is one dead pixel, but it is on the 4th column from the edge of the right side, so it's hardly noticable...not hardly worth crating it back up over. Incredible value for this size of monitor.

It replaces my 24" SOYO which has a bad power supply. One thing learned is that 1080p means 1080 pixels vertical. Kind of miss the extra 120 pixels of the 1920 x 1200 of the SOYO. Not a whole lot bigger than my BENQ 22" at 1680 x 1050. (The Acer is actually physically smaller vertically than the 22" BENQ by about a 1/2 inch) Works great and haven't even used the control panel yet ...

Amazing monitor, I highly recommend it. I bought from Buy.com because it looks like people have successfully returned monitors with dead pixels to them in the past, but mine didn't have any. Fallout 3 and L4D look great!

After using this product for more than 1 month: Pros: 5 ms response time (not bad, but fast moving objects flicker), black pixels are not very dark and white pixels are too bright, mine has no dead pixels, HD resolution, normal price for this quality. Cons: The outer plastic material this monitor is made of (frame and back side) is probably the lowest quality I've ever seen. It doesn't feel solid unlike other screens I use. The screen menu control is not easy to interact with. Blue power light is distracting (I used a black sticker to cover it). No height adjustment, I put some books under it for now. And no swivel. I bought it for its HD resolution + size + price, not the quality. I am not sure how long it will last. Overall it might be worth buying for average users.

Extremely fast shipping. Very good value. No problem with set up. I'm basically very bad with putting thing together--had no problems. It worked right out of the box. Overall this is a great monitor. Amazing price for a 1920x1080 display with HDMI. I've had the monitor for over a month now and I've been using it for video editing. The color is great. Very vivid and true to life. For this price you can't expect a lot of extras like speakers, memory reader slots, USB ports, etc. and you need to be aware of that going in. But for those of you who buy a monitor for the monitor and not some all in one this is a tremendous value. I am very impressed with this monitor and would recommend it to others. I have noticed a very quiet humming if it is very quiet when I am working with it. It might drive you nuts, but it seems to be common at a very low level. A lot quieter than the 26" Vizio monitor I use at work. If you want a low price, no frills, quality display then don't pass up on this model!

This is my first LCD monitor, so didn't know what to expect. I like the large screen and the clarity of color. It did, however, arrive with a couple of either dead pixels or small chips on the screen. This doesn't seem to affect anything, so haven't went to the trouble of sending it back. Overall, I'm pleased with my switch from CRT to LCD.

I purchased this monitor to replace my old 17" and what a difference! Everything fits on the screen and the picture is very nice. The monitor has no dead pixels and I see no bleed through lighting. The base attached very easily and it seems stable enough for my use. The monitor even comes with all the necessary cables. Buy.com is very efficient in their shipping department. I received the monitor in three days, even though normal shipping was used. I recommend this monitor to anyone moving up to a wide screen. The quality for the money is unbeatable.

A larger monitor might have been better for my needs (instead of a wider screen), but it's great for racing games that I play on my PC.

I am so happy I bought this monitor. This is a great value. It says you can even hook it up to a blue-ray player or HD cable box with the included HDMI cables but I haven't tried that yet. I've been using it for work, gaming, and watching my instant Netflix movies on. It's great. Clear, crisp picture. It didn't take but 2 days to arrive so don't bother with expedited shipping. It didn't take 10 minutes to set up and most of that was crawling under the table to hook the cables up. Plug and play all the way, didn't need the disk that came with it. You can't adjust the height but that hardly matters considering how huge the monitor is. I only wish I'd bought it sooner! You won't find a better deal for the money.

I bought this monitor solely because I needed the screen real estate for school projects. I use Adobe products(Photoshop, Indesign, Dreamweaver) a lot. This was more than I expected. I even played a few games of Fifa 09(PS3) on it. Just beautiful. I watched last night's episode of LOST on it also. I felt as though I was on the island with them. :D If you're on the fence about buying this monitor, BUY IT!!! You have nothing to lose and a lot to gain. Just look at the other comments. All 5 stars except for a few losers who can't open a box and push a plug into a wall. By the way, this is the first time I ever wrote a review for a product I bought online. It's that good.

I bought this monitor to use in my office as a TV with a H/D cable box after shopping for one off and on for the past six months. When it arrived I set it up and connected it with the included HDMI cable and it was up and running in a matter of minutes. The picture is crisp and clear and for the money I definitely don't think you can go wrong! Not only that, I ordered it late Saturday night and it arrived before noon on Tuesday!

This hi-def no-glare widescreen monitor is excellent, certainly lives up to the technical specs, and is certified for Windows Vista and earlier. Replacing a Sony monitor, this is the first 'off-brand' computer device I've ever purchased, but hide the name and judge performance and this monitor ranks higher than anything you compare it with; let your worries stop now and buy it. All cables (HDMI, DVI, VGA), manuals, and setup CD (though not needed) are all included. I've had zero problems, setup was plug and play, and working in front of a 1920x1080 Windows desktop is nothing short of bliss.

Jumping from 17 to 23 inches made the monitor seem too big at first. Now I can't live without the extra screen space. Only issue I had was a weird screen artifact using quicktime. But once I downloaded and installed the monitor's drivers, it went away. No issues since. Works great in XP and Linux.

I bought based on reviews here and CNET & Amazon. I used the 5 day shipping and got it in 5 days (counting the WEEKEND). I had to upgrade my video driver - but it looks gorgeous. Took me a while to get the brightness down to an acceptable level. This replaced my 21 inch CRT. Great screen to watch Hulu videos on.

Got my monitor a couple weeks ago. Monitor came very quickly shipping from california to me here in washington state. buy.com shipping has always been very quick and cheap for me. the monitor is a great step up from what i was using and i am loving the high def capabilities and how clear everything is. for the price i got the monitor at this has been a great buy. definitely recommend this as a cheap but very nice purchase for a 23 inch monitor.

I bought this last week, chose budget (free) shipping--and even so, I got it 48 hours after ordering. I have it plugged into my laptop in bedroom, configured as a second display, and I keep vista media center maximized in it. I watch lots of video, including HD, on it and it never fails to looks FANTASTIC regardless of ambient light. With all the lights off it's not too bright, and with broad daylight in the room it still looks bright, crisp, and defined. It looks INCREDIBLE, and is very frugal with power--automatically going into standby mode quickly. FULL HD-1920x1080. Looks as good/better than same size HDTVs--only lacks the tuner. HONESTLY--Nothing better at this size, at any price. You will NOT find another deal like this that has 3 connection choices--including HDMI!! Plug in a blue ray player, satellite receiver, etc, and use it as an additional television. (BTW--23" is the same vieweable widescreen area as a standard 27" television, which is what I am using this to replace and save energy)

Pro: Great resolution, great shipping from buy.com and great performance. I am using HDMI input and works great. Very light weight too. Cons: Stand is too small, height adjustment would have been a plus.

Great value for money and super fast shipping! Best value I could find any place on the web (or retail), so I assume that the inventory will eventually run out. Product works great right out of the box. I highly recommend this monitor. Be sure to adjust the tilt angle for optimum viewing once you get it going.

This is a really great product, especially for the price! It's very light and easy to install. I also liked that it has high resolution and a tilt feature. Defaults were super bright so I had to turn it down a little bit. I didn't pay for overnight delivery but it arrived the next day.

I have had this monitor for almost two whole days now, and I have zero complaints. The screen is easy to read, the brightness and colors are very good, and the extra space compared to my previous monitor (17" CRT) is fantastic. I should have done this sooner! This monitor is very easy to install, I was up and running in less than 10 minutes after it arrived. Great value for the price ... I used the $30 off by signing up for the Buy.com credit card, so the whole thing cost $160 plus a little more for shipping, and it arrived 2 business days after I ordered it. So ... it is a perfect 5 out of 5!

It's great. I love it. It is the second Acer monitor I've owned and so far so good. The only reason I got rid of the first one is because I wanted this one, larger. And I am impressed with the size and clarity. No complaints from me. It was plug & play. I didn't have to install any drivers or anything. It was very easy to put the stand on it. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a large monitor.

This is a great monitor, plug and play, easily adjustable (I set it to 'cool'), great value. For 23 inches and 1080p under $200 this probably sets the new standard. And the price is still going down! No dead pixels, HDMI DVI and VGA with the cords included. The only thing that isn't wonderful is the stand, it is adequate but could be sturdier. Buy.com also shipped really quickly, about 52 hours from order to arrival.

Beautiful display, no dead pixels, very good detail. At 1920x1080, excellent monitor for the price. I'm pairing it with my new Mac Mini (2009) and it works great together. Energy and power off management is automatically synchronized with the Mini. Another reason for choosing this monitor is the elegant matte-flat black/dark grey frame that doesn't reflect light back to the eye. I can't stand the recent trend of shiny black plastic monitor frames that look awfully gaudy. This one looks elegant. Finally I was impressed that the X233H has TCO'03 approval and label to prove it. It may not mean much to many, but it should. This monitor is approved by the worldwide Swedish standards for very low and safe radiation levels and other user friendly features and requirements. Check around and you'll see very few monitors show that they've met the TCO'03 safety standards, even among Acer monitors.

with $30 discount using Buy.com visa card, I paid 160 for this monitor. Very happy. Delivered within 2 days. Monitor is large but compact, leave a lot of desktop real-estate. Bright and easy to hook up, plug and play thing. No dead pixel. Big bang for the buck. I strongly recommend it. Have HMDI port to hook to my dvd to watch movie. Great picture.

No dead pixels on arrival. Received in two days. I bought this for a second monitor to my laptop and it was plug and play quality is very nice using the vga connection so I'm sure it has more potential. The screen is really bright and when using on photos this is nice, however it can be too bright for other applications but the touch controls are easy to use to change the brightness. I will be buying another one to have more monitor space.

I just purchased the Acer 23" and it looks great. It was plug and play right out of the box. There is no dead pixels. You cannot beat the price 159.99 delivered. This price reflects the -30.00 discount if you open buy.com credit card. I highly recommend this monitor and dealing with Buy.com. It took only 2 days to receive the monitor after purchase. The whole buying experience was the best, and the monitor works great.

I couldn't be happier with this monitor. No dead pixels. Very sharp - even with VGA input. Nice tilt option. Perfect size for the home office. No visible light bleed from the edges of the screen. Out of the box the brightness was a bit much but a few quick and easy adjustments gave a very pleasing picture. A great monitor for under $200. Definitely recommended.
