5 of 5 Kingston good as always Saturday, October 10, 2009
A Customer from New London CT

Shipping was very fast, item works perfect (fastest of the three brands I have here including a smaller Kingston).9 access time with 16/mb burst speeds using HD Tach to test. Only 14.9 gig formatted, this is typical of how all drives are labled though. Easy enough to reformat in NTFS so you can copy files over 4 gig, just do an internet search "formatting thumbdrive NTFS"

5 of 5 Good Deal Thursday, July 30, 2009
A Customer from Valencia, CA
Shipping a little slow but expected (free standard usps shipping). Good price for a 16gb flash. Speed of device is good for a "standard" transfer rate. Kingston in my experience is pretty reliable.

5 of 5 Try it you'll like it! Wednesday, June 10, 2009
MIKLO from Tucson,Arizona
I own a total of 9 USB thumb drives (yeah I know Im a geek)of different sizes I now have 3 of the 16gb drives and they work perfect.I wait for the low price and then buy, this is a really good deal.As you can imagine there are so many uses for these, so now instead of carrying a big case full of CD or DVD's I now got everything I need on this drive.Even though it does kinda amaze me I have had no trouble with any of my Kingston thumb drives. Not that I need anymore but when and if they come down lower in cost I just may have to get a few more.....LOL MIKLO

5 of 5 mobile storage at a bargain Tuesday, April 07, 2009
PG from Macon, GA
Great for bringing home work to catch up on. Quite easy to use, at most a three step process, 1) pop it in 2) do the transfers of files to and/or from the Kingston 'drive' 3) 'Remove safely...' and Bob's your uncle. Caveat, it has become fraught with errors and needed a chkdsk run on it. No worries, mate.

5 of 5 Excellent drive Sunday, March 29, 2009
A Customer from Glendale, CA
My current workhorse. Haven't formatted it to make a bootable drive, but have it formatted with NTFS to hold an entire DVD as an image. Fast transfers for files in the 100MB+ range as long as the computer has good implementation of modern USB ports. The 4.5GB DVD image takes some time to transfer.

5 of 5 Works fine for music in car Saturday, March 21, 2009
Bob from Waterloo, IL
I've got a stereo in my truck with a USB port. I use this to store all of my music. Works fine for this. Speed for loading and unloading music is good. I'm not going to do time comparisons like some users because to the casual user who uses this for transfering files and such, you're not going to notice whether one flash drive is faster than another. I've got about ten flash drives of all different brands and styles, all seem to work about the same....because I've got better things to do that sit and time them. Bottom line (and I know you uber-geeks and high end power users will disagree), for general transferring of files, a flash drive is a flash drive is a flash drive. Whether it takes 10 seconds or 12 seconds, you'll never notice. Reliability is the key and this one seems reliable.

5 of 5 Great Deal on USB Flash Drive Tuesday, March 17, 2009
A Customer from Solon, Ohio
I've bought Kingston USB flash drives before and this one does not disappoint. It performs pretty well for it's price range. Write speeds are average. Haven't experience failed writes as a previously experienced from a noname 8GB USB flash drive. Used TeraCopy to copy/move files with CRC verification. So this is a good value for storage/archive purposes.

Lance from Vancouver, WA
Pretty nice little USB drive. Not the fastest drive on the planet, but if you're looking for value over performance, this is a great buy. Speed wise it's average. No extra software or anything included with the drive.

5 of 5 Great Product - Greater Service!! Wednesday, January 28, 2009
A Customer from Orangeburg, SC
I couldn't be more pleased with the 16 GB Kinston Data Traveler. I can back up all of my computer files quickly and transport them easily. This flash drive was really the answer to my computer's storage limitations. Even better than the product is Buy.com's service. When the originally shipped item did not arrive, Buy.com immediately replaced it at no charge, even though tracking data indicated it had been delivered! They actually trust their customers and go the extra mile to put the needs of the customers first. Because of their wonderful customer service, Buy.com will be the first place I go to shop online for future purchases.

5 of 5 Nice portable drive in your pocket Wednesday, January 28, 2009
A Customer from West Monroe, La
This is my third Kingston Data Traveler drive. I started with the 4gb, then purchased the 8gb and now the 16gb. I've been very pleased with this line and look forward to the 32gb model. Pros: Plenty of size for your movies, pics, software, etc. Light and easily fits in pocket. Plug and play in both mac and pc. Cons: Removable cap not attached. Speed is average or above average but not the fastest on the market - but good value. Overall I'm very pleased with this product and will continue purchasing this line of flash drives.

As most products from Kingston, this one performs as advertised. The price is right. My only gripe is with the design. The unattached cap is easy to lose.

4 of 5 It does what you expect Monday, January 05, 2009
Roman from Baltimore, MD
For the price and capacity this drive cannot be bitten. It's convenient to use and is immediately recognized by the Windows XP PC as well as laptop. I wish it has an indicator that would let me know what's going on (is it connected? is there any data transfer?). Only because it has no indicator, I am giving it 4 stars of 5. Recommended!

5 of 5 Great drive for an awesome price! Saturday, January 03, 2009
Steve A from Manhattan, KS
I originally bought this as a gift for a friend. He has a car stereo with a USB port on the front, and used a 512 MB flash drive with it to listen to music. For Christmas, we had a Secret Santa gift exchange with a $25 spending limit, and I wanted to get him a new flash drive for his car (and other purposes), and this just leapt off the page at me when I saw it. He's absolutely thrilled with it; he uses it to carry almost his entire music collection in his car, as well as a bootable drive to do computer tech support and anti-virus scans. Its proven to be so helpful, I'm buying one for myself! As a note to people who are concerned about it not being "16 GB": The capacity listed for ANY drive (flash or HDD) is based on the unformatted capacity. Formatting a drive reduces the available capacity. That's why this will show up on your computer as ~15 GB. It becomes more noticeable with larger drives; a 120 GB computer hard drive may show up as only 110 GB once it is formatted in your system.

5 of 5 Good value Friday, January 02, 2009
Bill from West Union, Ohio
I have had no problems in transferring files from PC to PC. I purchased the 16GB data traveler for $23.99 with free S/H. By the time I had read the email from Buy.com which had the flash drive in it, they had ran out and what sellers were left had either a higher base price or included a fee for S/H that increased the price. I waited a couple weeks and buy.com had it back in stock for the same price. Glad I waited.

The 16gb flash drive for $25.00 is fantastic the only problem i had was that the flash drive is a fat32 which means u can only download 2gb at a time for my use i needed it to allow me to do more but overall its very good for the price.

I bought this for my husband, he is a computer wiz and has 3 other ones but they were not 16gb. He loves it. it holds alot and loads very fast, plus it has a loop that he can put it on his key ring so he never loses it. The best price around.

2 of 5 Fast but Cheaply Made Tuesday, December 30, 2008
A Customer from orange, ca
This flash drive holds a lot, is priced well, and works great. The drawback is that it's cheaply made. The plastic part where you can hang it onto a keyring is made of light plastic not medal. That piece already broke after 2 weeks. Very inconvenient now since I can't hook the flash onto my keyring anymore.

5 of 5 Works great w/ MacBook Tuesday, December 30, 2008
A servant of Jesus Christ from Chicago, IL
I have been looking for a good flashdrive, and I wanted one that was large enough so that I would have to upgrade my storage capacity. When I got it I plugged it into my MacBook and it took 2 seconds for the icon to appear on my desktop. I have been able to easily transfer files back and forth between the flashdrive and my computer. As for the cap's ability to be lost--yes it is a pain, but I have used the "redneck" way of solving my problem. I drilled a small hole into the cap and then I cut a thin rubberband and knotted one end inside the cap. Then I knotted the other end onto the red plastic loop at the end of the flashdrive. Sure it doesn't look professional, but it works. If you aren't bothered by the small hassle that the cap affords, then, in my opinion, there is no flaw with this product. For the price and the quality, I couldn't find a better deal. I would recommend this to anyone.

5 of 5 Good value, even if it's not what they advertised Monday, December 29, 2008
Bill from Redmond, WA
These Kingston flash drives are slightly under 15 GB, not the 16 that they proport to be. Even so, at less than $25 delivered, they are a very good value. // Our PC initially had a little trouble recognizing the Traveler setup, but we soon got past that. The FAT32 format is not lightning fast, but okay. However, FAT32 is a tremendous plus for transferring files between our PC and MAC. And 15 GB can move a lot of files.

15gig of formatted storage for such a small investment is awesome. I've been using it daily since I purchased it to transfer work from the office to home. Not sure that's a great idea though. I spend far too much time working nights now. ;)
