4 of 5 Perfect if it had an output to DVD Player Sunday, March 08, 2009
Joe from Portland, OR
This has been a good bargain but still leaves me wanting more. I attached this to a HD capable monitor, did a scan for channels of my rabbit ears, and got 13 over the air digital channels, most with HD output. I attached this to a cable service and got 81 unencrypted channels. Some in HD. What I want more is: It could have another output, dvi, to go to my DVD so that I can record the tv programs. Also another set of sound outputs. It would be nice to be able to go to the unencrypted channels directly, however, the remote is not capable of entering more than three numbers. A lot of the unencrypted channels have up to seven numbers and the only way to get to them is by moving up or down the channels in order.

4 of 5 watch hdtv on any vga input Thursday, January 15, 2009
Luke from Portland, OR
The good: I have not had any problems with the unit yet. I was able to watch hd tv on my computer's lcd in 3 minutes after opening the package. I get 20+ channels here. Small antenna is good, I have not tried another antennas. Good picture good colors on hd channels 1024*768 on my lcd, no picture distortion on my lcd. It froze once: unplug power and you are right back watching. I hooked it up on my 37" lcd via vga input as well and got same good results. The not that good: every switch of channel is not as fast as I would like it to be and for 3 sec it displays unnecessary info... When switching output or screen resolution, sometimes you do not know where you are, the lcd receives no signal and it is kinda hard to get back to seeing a picture. It happened once when I was playing with the remote, I had to unplug and play further with the buttons without knowing what the outcome would be. Somehow I got a picture.... frustrating. This might be the problem that many experience. The unit might not be defective, just out of tune... Manual is a mini flier instructions, not a manual Final thoughts: it does what is supposed to do and for the price I paid ($53.00) it was a great value more than 5 stars on value)

5 of 5 Great product after difficult setup Thursday, January 15, 2009
A Customer from Norman, OK
The setup for this item is not very intuitive, and the instructions are minimal, so if you can get past the challenging setup, this is a great product. The Kworld tuner connects to a spare monitor to produce a sharp TV picture, and it plays music or photos from a USB drive. The QAM tuner works best for me, since I am 30 miles away from TV stations and the tiny included antenna won't pick up anything but very strong DTV signals. If buyers will just patiently work through the setup, they will be happy with this product. One setup matter not mentioned is that the included cable is to be used only if you want to connect both your computer and the Kworld tuner to your monitor. Otherwise, just use the monitor cable that came with your monitor. I sent a long time trying to figure out how to connect cables.

5 of 5 Great Box Wednesday, January 14, 2009
A Customer from Port Charlotte, FL
I bought this to turn a 19" LCD into an HDTV for the bedroom. It works perfect. Comcast in my part of FL is still sending most of its signals through analog, so I'm not getting all the channels, but the ones I do receive are AWESOME. I was able to watch the BCS Championship in bed, in Hi-Def, no problem. It appears that only the qam channels can be read in my area, because I am even receiving the On Demand channel through this box. I tried hooking up the antenna first, and it grabbed about 4 channels using the supplied antenna in a very poor reception area(my cell phone has trouble getting a signal in my room, as an example). Overall, for the money, well worth the investment.

3 of 5 Decent product Sunday, January 11, 2009
Mike from Pleasant Grove, Utah
So far (~2 weeks), this has been a decent product. I have a very basic Comcast cable package in Utah (not digital cable or anything) and it picks up all of the cable channels as well as the local channels in HD. Apparently Comcast sends the local HD signals along the line, so I didn't need to use the included antenna. The channel guide is either really lame or I can't figure out how to use it. I get show information and channel names for the local over-the-air channels, but it only shows cryptic channel numbers for the cable channels. Maybe this is Comcast's fault and not the device's fault. The device seemed to stop responding once or twice the first couple of days that I was using it, so I had to unplug it and do a channel scan again. It seems that it doesn't remember channels after you unplug it. It also seems like it "lost" a channel once (it didn't hit the channel as I looped through them), so I again had to do a channel scan to find the channel. We are using this with a projector that doesn't have a TV tuner, and for the price, I think it was worth it to bring TV to our projector. We are using component video cables and sending 1080i to the projector. The pictures is good. It's not great for channel surfing, but if you know which program you are going to watch, you can eventually find it.

4 of 5 Cost effective & Good performance but room to impr Sunday, January 11, 2009
A customer from Honolulu, HI
Good quality HD picture and convert computer LCD into high quality HD monitor. Good to use with indoor antenna and cable HD TV. However, adding a favorite channel button on remote could make this product better. Each time I had to input 4 to 6 digit channel made me a little inconvenient at times. Overall, I am satisfied with the quality of pictures I am getting.

3 of 5 good idea but... Friday, January 02, 2009
A Customer from bellevue, washington
pros: 1. price was not bad compared to buying a tv converter box 2. plugs directly into VGA monitor (more on that later) 3. picked up about 8 channels using the small antenna cons: 1. wrong VGA cable came in the box - ended up having to unplug my VGA cable to the pc to use with this tuner box 2. poor documentation 3. picture quality is so so - will try to get a better indoor antenna to see if that makes any difference

4 of 5 Cheap but decent external tuner Friday, January 02, 2009
A Customer from Harrisburg PA
This unit works as advertised. My TV is HD capable but requires an external tuner for HD channels. It found 12 clear HD channels from Comcast. The manual is weak, but I never use one anyway. The remote is very cheap and does not function very quickly. I only use this to watch HD channels so was is not that a deal breaker. It was the least expensive unit I could find so I was willing to sacrifice some performance for price.

4 of 5 Great for photo picture frame Wednesday, December 31, 2008
A Customer from New York, NY
I bought this mostly to use to play photo's from a USB stick. It works very well for that - I stuck the unit to the back of a monitor and for the price of the unit, monitor and 2 gig usb stick have an excellent photo frame. The slideshow can't be configured, but it rotates through the photos in alphabetical order showing each for about 5 seconds. I've got 500+ photo's and it runs fine. The TV tuner doesn't seem to pick up reception reliably, I'm not sure if it's my area or the antenna itself but it frequently losses reception and shows no signal found.

4 of 5 Works as advertised Tuesday, December 30, 2008
A Customer from Mountain View, CA
I bought this HD tuner box to work with my 800x600 DLP LCD projector and it does a decent job overall. It took me a while to figure out how to switch the display mode to letterbox. In the default mode for my display device, the image ratio is 4:3 so everything looks weird. You have to go into setup mode and change the display mode from the default to letterbox. It should work fine out of the box if your display is already widescreen. The documentation for this product is very skimpy. But then again, most people don't read the manual. One annoyance is that the default setting for each channel is closed-captioning is turned on. I had to manually turn it off for each channel.
