    5 of 5 Terrific Scanner Monday, April 13, 2009
    Gerry from Trumbull, CT

This scanner works great for my photos. I even use it with success to scan CD album artwork for iTunes. I use the manual scan for this purpose so I can set the options I need to clean the artwork and get the best resolution for my purposes. One cool part is laying multiple photos on the scanner and it can see that there are multiple photos and will scan each one individually. Big time save. Great scanner. I've always like Epson scanners.

4 of 5 Great scanner, great price! Saturday, March 28, 2009
    Jennifer from PA
This scanner came highly recommended and I can confirm it is a great scanner. One downside - I had problems scanning slides. Sent a note to Epson and was concerned it was damaged, but after further research and cleaning the scanner, the problem was resolved. Epson was of little help, which is a concern to me - this is my first Epson product. Keep the surface clean, especially for scanning slides. Loading the software and using the software is cake - have to play around a little, but it's simple once you get the hang of it. I have Vista 64 bit and had no problems getting the scanner functioning.

5 of 5 Great for the Money Sunday, March 22, 2009
    Connie from Illinois
I wanted this scanner as the reviews says light weight and good performance. I am into genealogy and just today I took it with my lap top out to my in-laws to scan photos. It did great-fast and even lightened up old photos so you could see them better. Great product and great price.

5 of 5 This is it!! Tuesday, March 17, 2009
    Mike from Chicago, IL
If you are thinking of a scanner, stop looking and buy this one. It really is great. For the negative scanning alone I would give it 5 stars. I am genuinely thrilled with this product. The negative scanning is simple too. Plus it has lots of other great features. The price cannot be beat. At twice the price it would still be a great buy!

5 of 5 Great for the money Sunday, February 22, 2009
    John from Milford, Michigan
Scanner technology has come a long way. This unit is smaller, lighter and better performing than an HP Scanjet scanner circa 2000 that cost $800+. The software is easy to use and allows for easy or advanced usage. Made excellent scans of numerous old photos that had accumulated over the years. Have a Plustek slide scanner, so did not test this feature.

    5 of 5 Great Scanner Wednesday, February 11, 2009
Quick Learn from Colorado Springs, CO
The machine is very easy to set up and a snap to use. After looking at similar scanners at higher prices I am completly satisfied. I have Vista and sometimes things just don't set up well but everything in this case was great.

5 of 5 Fast and very easy to use. Tuesday, December 09, 2008
    EdFromOhio from Niles, Ohio
I have had several flatbed scanners plus film scanners. This one does a good job at what it is designed for. Since I have a dedicated film scanner, I didn't use that feature in this scanner because they just can't compare with a true film scanner. I had a Canon lIde scanner prior to this, and it died. It was OK up to that point, but I opted for Epson this time (obviously.) The resolution of the Canon just wasn't there. That being said, it takes less than 1 minute to do a full page scan at 600dpi. The results are nice and crisp, and you do have some options right in the scanner interface to help tweak things before your scan even gets written out to a file. The software can be switched from "I'm a complete newbie at this" to "Get out of my way and let me scan!" modes. There are also some settings in between. If you want a full-blown scanning utility, check out VueScan by Ed Hamrick. It's what I use for film scanning, and it opens up some options that you won't see otherwise. I really don't have any complaints about this scanner.

5 of 5 good value scanner - mid range Saturday, November 29, 2008
    Wayne from Austin, TX
my older high end HP scanner (for it's time) bit the big one so I had to shop for a new unit - so after looking at many units on line the Epson Perfection V300 Photo Scanner looked like it would fit my needs and the price was right - I like the fact it has a LED scan light source - it's PDQ to start scanning ( not like the old HP with a lamp that had to warm up) - I use a scanner a lot for my home business so start up speed is NICE - it seems to be more clear and have more detail - it's also is smart in the auto mode but you can also take control of the scan and scan the way you want too - well worth the money in a mid range unit
