The Slingbox Pro HD is a fancy product that can enlighten your display in your living room.
One minor improvement needed is to provide detailed step-by-step installation feature. I spent hours online to look for trouble-shooting as its manual and sling.com does not provide enough solutions. Was this review helpful?

The Slingbox Pro HD was relatively easy to set up and get running. We did have a little problem at first but it was because of our digital receiver from our cable company - not because of the Slingbox. We live in Georgia and bought it so our daughter in Texas could watch TV shows. She doesn't have cable and in that area where she lives, if you don't have cable, you don't have television at all. She had an easy time downloading and installing the program to work with the Slingbox and was watching TV in no time at all. She can do all the Slingbox stated one could do - change channels, watch On-Demand features, etc. We have a TV that is set up with the Slingbox and is dedicated just for her to watch TV on so it doesn't interfere with our television watching at all. My brother-in-law has one and uses it to watch television when he is in Europe! Overall, I think the Slingbox is a great idea and works great! I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for this type of setup. Was this review helpful?

I was pleased with what this product brings to me. This has solved a problem that lets me view programs that are not available to me in certain areas. Great product and idea to beleive that we would be viewing tv any where. ( like sitting in your living room with yor own remote in hand. I can watch and or record my programs as well watch my previcious recorded programs. Was this review helpful?

If you are considering a TV tuner for your PC, this is a great alternative. You will spend more up front, but the benefits are great. Not only can you watch TV on your PC in your home, but you can watch TV anywhere as long as you have a PC and an internet connection (or on your blackberry if you subscribe - I did and it's pretty cool).
If you are electronically challenged you might find the setup difficult. Anyone who has multiple audio/video components in their home will find the setup rather easy. The hardest part for me was running an ethernet cable from our router in an office to our TV in the family room. I routed it through the walls and into the basement so it took a little work to do it, but well worth it.
Once the cables are hooked up, it is an easy on-line setup to configure the device.
As most have said, the hd streaming at home is nearly flawless and shows a great picture on hd widescreen monitor.
HD streaming outside the home can be sketchy at times, but you simply switch your video input over to the analog or digital coaxial feed and I have had no problems. That's the beaty of the HD Pro, you have two output signals and can switch between the two. This also comes in handy when someone else is actually watching your HD TV the slingbox is connected to, rather then watching the programs they have on, you can switch over to the coaxial video feed and watch what ever you want without effecting your HD TV viewing.
I have had no issues and would recommend this to anyone. Great product!

The Slingbox PRO-HD is another fine device from Sling Media. It's full-featured and comes with the cables needed to get started (except SP/DIF). The image quality is very good over my home network but you'll need at least a 1.5Mbps upload connection if you want to stream HD content remotely over the Internet.
The only quirk I've encountered is that I cannot invoke my list of recorded programs with the virtual remote; I was able to do it using my SOLO. Still the PRO-HD is an excellent product, despite the high price, and another fine addition from Sling Media Was this review helpful?
