    5 of 5 Fantastic Reception 12/17/2009
    WD from Burien, WA
15 miles South of Seattle I get 95-100% reception on all channels from the north. 70% for one station to the west. I even get a Bellingham station (90 miles north)with 75%. I simply have it mounted on the north side of the house below the roofline. What a great value!

    5 of 5 Excellent at receiving VHF/UHF signal 11/29/2009
    J. Z from Naperville, IL
25 miles west Chicago, no problems. all major tv channels ok. I tried another antenna (DB2) before I bought this one. DB2 was very poor at getting VHF signal from CBS (channel 2) and ABC (7). This antenna has no problems.

    5 of 5 BUY THIS ONE 7/3/2009
    Hal J from Kalamazoo Michigan
This is the absolute best antenna for the money. Receives both VHF and UHF new digital HDTV channels. But also buy a external amplifier; makes all the difference Enjoy

3 of 5 Not a very good VHF antenna 7/2/2009
    from Mankato MN
I purchased this antenna because the rabbit ears I had indoors once in a while did not always have a solid signal. It is advertised as UHF/VHF, but the VHF transmitter that is less than 30 miles away cannot be picked up with this antenna. It is outdoors and over 30 feet in the air, the rabbit ears indoors is about 6 feet high and indoors and gets the channel most times. Very disapointed that an outdoor antenna would get less reception than the indoor on the VHF frequency.

    2.3 of 5 barely sufficient 7/1/2009
    bMin from Issaquah, WA
Having just two "bow ties" in front of it's reflector screen, I had to step up to a similiar antenna with eight bow ties (twice as high, twice as wide, to get four times to signal wattage) to run more than the one TV. I like that I don't have to re-point it to "see" towers in two cities, the "fish skeleton" looking antenna needed to be more carefully aimed.

    1 of 5 Piece Of Junk 6/11/2009
    from San Jose, CA
With multiple positive reviews, I decided to give this thing a try, and what a mistake it was. The 1 page instruction sheet that came with it was not at all clear about how to put it together or how to aim it at the TV stations. Once I got it figured out, the antenna was not able to pull in most channels that my old and much bigger antenna can and my house is well within the 40-mile range of this antenna, just goes to show that size does matter. After fiddling with this thing for about an hour, I finally gave up and stuck it in the recycling bin, maybe the aluminum can be recycled into something more useful. Save your money, buy something else.

5 of 5 Good antenna, fits the job 5/29/2009
    UH from South Florida
I bought this antenna to replace a Wingard GS1100 that provided borderline reception and was dropping signal with 1/2 of the local stations, when connected to the ATSC tuner of a Dish network VIP611 receiver.. Once I replaced the old antenna with the HD1080 I get a solid reception of 47 stations, here, in South Florida, Some are as far as 45 miles away. The antenna is to be combined with the GS1100 (installed on opposite sides of the house), amplified 15DB with a drop amplifier and split to four sets. I tested it with that setting and the results are great (more stations are locked in... no dropouts).

5 of 5 Decent antenna, good price 3/23/2009
    Gary from Jefferson, MD
The antenna works pretty well with my channel master converter box. I'm getting quite a few UHF channels, but I haven't had a chance to really test it with the high VHF digital channels that I will need in June after transition, because those stations haven't switched from UHF yet. We'll see if this antenna really does a better job than the plain bow-ties, when that day comes. The antenna was pretty easy to assemble, which is a good thing, because the instructions are kind of a joke.

5 of 5 Ready for DTV Switch 1/15/2009
    ken from Kansas
I wanted to get a new antenna before the DTV transition right around the corner. This antenna is Great! All channels are coming in 100% signal level. This unit has a range of 40 miles, and I'm located 10-25 miles from the broadcasting stations, and this antenna is working great even in bad weather. My neighbors saw it, and I have bought seven of these units to get them ready for the DTV transition. The small compactness of this unit is great. They are all happy also with this antenna. Great Service. Shipping is usually 2-3 days after placing an order, and free shipping is a great bonus. Overall, nothing negative to write about this product. Easy assembly, and it's nice that the transformer comes with the unit so you just screw on your coaxial cable.

5 of 5 Great Value, Small, good quality 1/14/2009
    ken from Kansas
With the DTV right around the corner, I was searching for an antenna that would get all the stations in our area. I needed a medium directional unit, and this unit fit the bill! It is so small, but yet really brings in the signals of all the stations great. When my neighbors seen it, they wanted one also, so I've bought 7 of these units total. One for me, and 6 for other people in my neighborhood. Everybody is very impressed with it's performance. Great price and free shipping. I place an order and within 2-3 days it's here. You can't ask for any better service. This unit has a range of 40 miles, and all our stations are approximately 20-25 miles, and every digital channel we have available is coming in crystal clear even when we have bad weather. We're ready for the DTV Switch!

4.3 of 5 Compact, good picture in Orange, CA 11/30/2008
    Ken from Orange, CA
I bought this as a replacement for the old, broken-winged "bird perch" we had for 12 years. It arrived promptly 5 days after purchase (good). The set up was quick (good), but the fold-out elements' bar and groove mounting seems a bit flimsy (sub par), and after aiming and tightening, I again had to re-seat most of them. So I still may have to worry about The Birds (not good). The foot print is small, and less of a target for the heavy winds we sometimes get in Southern California. The signal levels we enjoy in Orange, are predominantly in the "GREEN ZONE" (seen in antennaweb.org), and this antenna has no real problems sensing UHF or VHF. HDTV (UHF) signal levels 75-85; (fair) and old school VHF is very clear ('til 2009). So, in my view, this HD1080 is a compact choice for "over the air" HDTV. It does the job and is a fair deal.
