4 of 5 Good desktop HD radio. Sunday, November 30, 2008
BK from Austin, TX

This radio easily tunes the many HD broadcasts in the area, including the secondary channels being broadcast by some stations. The sound is good for an all-in-one design, with a reasonable amount of bass. It would have been nice for the unit to have tone adjustment controls, but the sound is well balanced without them. I also prefer auto-set clocks that use the atomic time broadcasts. While this radio does not have that feature, it has maintained the time through multiple power outages where other appliances have not. Overall, it's a nice product!

4 of 5 "iluv i168 is doing the job for me. Wednesday, September 24, 2008
Jim Fleming from Jefferson City, Missouri
I like my new iluv i168 HD radio with dual alarm clock. It does everything it claims to do. I had earlier purchased an HD radio by Radi-osopy (HD-100). Within a week, its volume STUCK on loudest setting (too loud for apartment dwellers like me). They did accept my faulty radio (although I had to pay $7-$8 postage to return it to them), and sent me a new one, same model. Its volume control worked, but has some "reception" problems. I still use their second HD-100 radio. But my "iluv i168 radio came, has worked as advertised, and I have had no problems (volume, reception, features) so far.

5 of 5 Sleek... Friday, September 19, 2008
Jesse from New York, NY
Great sound and well worth the price. I received my $50 mail in rebate quickly, about 3-4 weeks after I received item. Made the overall cost about $45.00 because NYS taxes. Very pleased with design, sound and display appearance. Great way try try out the HD experience at home. You will not be disappointed for the small price. A++

4 of 5 Very cool radio when HD kicks-in Wednesday, August 20, 2008
TravisGood from Reston, VA
I live in the DC area where HD stations abound but I live in a shallow valley which affects reception. In my basement I can't get any HD channels. On the first floor I get several HD stations. With careful positioning of my antenna I can pick-up most stations, some of the time. HD reception is not what I'd hoped for especially since that was the primary reason for buying the radio. The only other slight disappointment was the quality of sound; the built-in speakers are really of clock radio quality. Given the price I'm not disappointed and when I get HD signals the quality is really impressive.

5 of 5 Great Radio/Alarm, HD has crystal clear signal Wednesday, August 13, 2008
jay from Rensselaer, NY
I prefer to wake up to a local morning talk show rather then an annoying beep, so I thought I'd try an HD radio alarm clock. This one was worth every cent and I have no complaints. Sound is crisp, and the speakers can get loud enough to hear from anywhere in my apartment (so setting the volume level for each alarm is a plus if I forget to turn the volume back down). Highly recommend this one!

2 of 5 Had higher expectaions Sunday, August 10, 2008
Jack from Wichita, KS
I have had this iLuv i168 HD Radio for about a month and it works ok. When you have the radio on you can not see what time it is and you can not change the display to show the time unless the radio is off, even if you use the sleep function you can not see the time. The preset button does not work so well and I have to push it several times to get it to advance to the next station. The AM antenna that came with it has some extra plastic attached to it, I tried to bend it to see if it would snap together to create a base to set on a table but it looks as though it is missing pieces. I also do not remember reading that this was a refurbished unit even though it is very apparent that I was not the first person to handle the contents of this box. For eighty nine dollars you can do way better than this. I am waiting on a fifty dollar rebate, and even for forty dollars you can do better. It is not worth the hassle for me to try and return this, also I have already sent the UPC in for the rebate.

4 of 5 nice clock radio Tuesday, July 29, 2008
A Customer from Norcross, GA
I mainly purchased this because of my curiosity of HD Radio. The iLuv works well and is easy to use, and easy to tune. It might not support AM HD but I haven't really been able to tell for sure. FM HD works great. The AUX-in is a nice touch as well because I can go to sleep listening to my iPod, n800 as well as the radio. The only drawback I have encountered so far is that the display setting returns to the ON setting after the sleep timer expires.

5 of 5 Love it! Tuesday, July 29, 2008
A Customer from Chaska, MN
It's a great product at a price you can't beat. HD tuner works great. I live about 50 miles from Minneapolis, and I still get all the metro stations in HD without problems.

3 of 5 OK, for the money Monday, July 28, 2008
Fred from San Francisco
I am funny this way. I like my CLOCK radios to utilize the clock, this one does NOT. 1. Hard to read the clock because the display slopes up. 2. When the radio is playing, you can not see the clock. 3. When you set 2 alarms, the second will not go off if the first is still on. So much for setting the second alarm 20 minutes after the first to insure I get up. On the Pro side. 1. Very good for it's size. 2. It's easy to use EXCEPT for te alarms. For the money, it's OK.

4 of 5 Not bad for a small, table radio Thursday, July 17, 2008
Mike from Santa Cruz Mountains, CA
Not bad for the price (I took advantage of the HD rebate.) For a kitchen radio or a clock radio it does the job. AM reception is average at best, but the FM, esp. HD, is adequate. It would be nice if it had tone controls, but it doesn't. It looks a lot better than the photos led me to expect. The adjustable-brightness LED is a real plus if you're using it as a clock radio. The alarm is nice and gentle. It slowly gains in volume until you turn it off. Be aware that it comes with external AM (loop) and FM (wire) antennas, both of which are required. It's certainly the most affordable HD radio available. I'd buy it again--with the rebate. Without? Probably not. As always, the Buy.com service was top rate. I have never had a bad experience ordering from Buy.com.

5 of 5 Inexpensive way to try HD Radio Wednesday, July 16, 2008
RainmanP99 from New Orleans, LA
I have been wanting to dabble with HD radio, but I did not want to gamble $100-150. In my office, FM reception is OK but sometimes the stations I listen to can get a little staticky even though I have a window. With the supplied FM antenna plugged in, this radio picks up the HD stations I hoped for. Now this is a pretty no-frills unit. It is a basic clock radio with HD, line in jack, headphone jack, presets, two alarms, and plugs for both AM and FM antennae which are included. Setup was very simple. I set the time and a couple of station presets without looking at the manual. The display isIt does not have tone control. A review I read before purchasing that lamented the lack or a remote control and stated that sound quality was just adequate. As I said, it is a basic clock radio with small speakers. Since I planned to use it in my office with auxiliary speakers I wasn't to worried about the sound. The sound is fine for a clock radio. I don't expect it to match a stereo. It is nice to have the line in for plugging in an MP3 player if desired. I am very happy with this purchase. The only minor aggrevation is that I can't figure out how, or even if it is possible to display the time rather than the station. The time does display when the radio is off so at least in the middle of the night one can see the time, but I would kind of like to have it all the time except, obviously, when I am changing stations. If you have wanted to give HD a try it is hard to beat buy.com's current price of $39.95 after rebate. FWIW, the rebate is from the HD Radio folks and is good on a number of different brands and models purchased from 7/1/2008-9/29/2008 so check out the rebate form for a list. Hope this is useful.

5 of 5 HD Radio on the Cheap Monday, July 14, 2008
bill from Hackensack, NJ
This radio has everything you want in a clock radio - 2 alarms, nice ascending volume alarm, lots of presets and decent sound.
The Good: J-Win has been turning out electronic stuff for the last 20 years or so that just does not suck. It is serviceable and it works. The iLuv 168 is a bit than that. It delivers everything it promises. The sound is better that your current clock radio unless you have a Bose sitting at your bedside. It comes with 2 antennae - an FM Dipole and an AM Loop. In the NYC area, I've never needed either. With the iLuv, the dipole pulls in a marginal station I like. The AM loop seems to improve the unit's ability to pick up the digital HD signal on AM stations. I live within a half mile of WABC, a clear channel 50,000 watt AM station. HD reception was a crapshoot until I plugged in the loop. Other AM stations came in better after I put the antenna outside the screen window. The radio has a headphone jack and a, auxiliary input. My iTouch and XM radio sound great through the iLuv.
The Bad:: The radio case smells like plastic. I imagine the odor will subside but it smells like a wire is overheating. I checked - it's the case. The unit is large but good looking. I replaced a radio the size of a vacuum pack of coffee. iLuv is approaching shoe box size. The features trump the size.
The Ugly:: No uglies!
I like the unit. I listen to talk radio and AM is important to me. I really enjoy the additional stations available on the FM dial. I've found Country, additional oldies and other gems among the HD only content. iLuv is a great introduction to HD radio and a really nice clock radio.
