The shipment came very fast and I am very happy with the new speed on my laptop. One thing, even though I installed 4 GB of Ram on my ThinkPad, because I'm running a 32 processor, the maximam ram it reads is 3 GB. So it's a bit of overkill.
I'm no computer techie...just what I notice when I check out my system properties. The upgrade does make my computer MUCH faster! Was this review helpful?

Finally, my Gateway laptop doesn't lock up anymore nor slow way down. It boots up faster and shuts down quicker. I'm able to open several windows with no noticeable sluggishness that I had with 1 gigabyte of ram that came with the computer. I do have windows Vista and the maximum amount of memory should have been included when I purchased the laptop. The cost of the 4 gig Kingston Value Ram was significantly lower than any retail outlet. There must be a hell of a markup in ram at Best Buy.

I bought the 4gb in order to give my PC an extra boost. For some reason after installed in my computer the 4GB only shows as 3GB memory in my PC.
It still made my computer much faster and it helps a lot but I just wish the 4GB would actually show as a 4GB memory in my computer. Was this review helpful?

Installation was a breeze.
M90 as a qwerk when you change the Memory a text screen pops up at the first boot stating you have a system error and the memory size has changed. Then it just sits there for a few minutes and you can do nothing!
Don't panic, just wait an you will eventually get the usual Hit F1 to continue message. Then your off to the races. Was this review helpful?

Installed one of these on a 2006 model laptop and it ran fine. Taking out the old stick and putting in the both new sticks it wouldn't start, but I don't know if that was the memory, my error, or my lack of understanding. Both sticks were functional and worked fine in the end.
Did not work on a 2005 model laptop I tried it on, it apparently used a different memory type, so double check your connector facts before using this.
Other than that, the RAM shows up and performance notably changes so it works as advertised. With 2 day delivery it arrived 2 days after I ordered it. I bought it for $40, then it went down $2, and then it went up again. Offer still the best deal on the internet right now. Was this review helpful?

I upgraded my Windows Vista 32 bit Gateway laptop from two gig to 4. When I fired up, the bios showed 4 gig but the 32 bit version of Vista only makes 3 gig available. The memory upgrade is a good value after the rebate, but you need a 64 bit OS to fully utilize it. Was this review helpful?

Check 12 days after mail-in rebate for Kingston Sodimm memory, Kingston will not valid rebate due to not accepting buy.com packing slip but that was the only proof I have in the box. Kingston said they will mail me a letter stating reason but it's 20 days and no letter. Meanwhile I have ask buy.com for receipts and within 1 day I have receipts. Sounds like Kingston will wait out the months before they will send me the letter and wait out more months when they get the receipts from me. Which they will have my money twice as long. people who dre not sure what memory suits there laptop, crucial.com has memory tool , which specifies the memory to use.
once u know what ram to buy, check there prices on different sites.
