5 of 5 Research of PDAs proved its value with the IPAQ111 Tuesday, June 17, 2008 Crew-news from Albuquerque, NM
As an owner of an IPAQ 2755, I needed a PDA that would share the same OS as my mobile phone. The IPAQ 111 is simple but powerful with a nose for wireless connections. Sitting in the stands at Texas Motor Speedway and connected to the internet through the press box was a blast and let me watch live timing/scoring for the Indycar race. Charging through the USB cable is a nice perk as well. The large memory card capacity is also a plus. My IPAQ 111 arrived in a box marked 110 but my research assured me that both models are in fact the same. The price was right and I would recommend this PDA to anyone. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent PDA Saturday, May 17, 2008 Carlos_A from Medford, NY
This iPAQ replaced a Palm Life Drive Manager. Unlike the Palm it was easy to setup and it has never crashed.
I was able to use most of the Palm software I had. I added an 8M card and I am in the process of downloading my music to it The WIFI and bluetooth setup was straightforward. I highly recommend it. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Buy, Easy Use, Works with Vista Tuesday, April 08, 2008 kcarpenter9503 from Clinton, TN
I had a brief problem with syncing this with windows vista and had to download a few things from Microsoft, because the CD that came with it didn't work with Vista. Also, I have had it lockup once or twice on me, but a soft reset doesn't take but a few seconds so no big deal. It works well, connects to every wireless i have neeeded to so far with ease, runs fast....and keeps me on track. Thats what its supposed to do right? Would buy this again and again if I had to, not sure how I lived with out it before. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 HP Ipaq 111 Monday, April 07, 2008 A Customer from Raleigh, NC
Well, this is ummm my 4th different ipaq. The 4155 was the best, but this one has the potential to be better than that one...
The screen is about the same size as the hp 4155, but the display is better. It comes with some more useful apps, like encryption software, on the unit. I bought it because the processor seemed to be faster, but I haven't yet seen that performance boost. Maybe because that's because Win mobile 6 drains it more... The Today screen is pretty cool (versus older versions of Win mobile) adding a lot of information that is useful. The Ipaq 111 fits nicely in the palm of your hand, since it's form factor is like the Hp Ipaq 4155, that had to be their best seller... Oh, did I say the wireless capabilities are pretty good. It has the current wireless WPA-1 WPA-2 (Wireless-G I think). It found my router easily and connected easily. It reads the new SDHC Cards, and I put in a new 8GB card which makes it very expandable. The battery life seems to hold up good. The speaker is on the back of the unit which stinks - the HP 4155 Had the speaker on the front, which makes sense... I find myself constantly putting the thing up to my head to hear it... Guess I'll get the BT headphones... So, I guess the speaker isn't that good. But then again it's not an mp3 player... For the price you can't beat it. Plus free shipping at Buy.com...

I did quite a bit of research before settling on the Ipaq 111. I could have spent more money, but after reading some of the reviews for some of the others, I decided to give this one a try. I am glad I did. I have only had it a few weeks, but it works wonderfully and the wireless is a great feature. I owned a Palm TX for a day or two and could not get the wifi to connect. This connected almost instantly. It replaces an older model Ipaq, which I also loved, but really just wanted to update. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Best PDA for the price Sunday, March 16, 2008 charlespitts from Connecticut
In the last 8 years I've had a handspring & a toshiba that both lost all of it's data when the batteries died. This HP 111 iPAQ Classic holds a great charge. I have not yet used the Bluetooth, but the WiFi is incredible. I can actually run AIM using IM+ and chat with others, sync with my calendar notes and tasks at work, and when I'm home check my email without turning on my computer. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Convenient and fun! Saturday, March 08, 2008 Marcia from Macomb, IL
This is the first PDA I've ever had, and I think it's great! I've used the wi-fi to send/receive email and even to visit a web site or two. I've synced the Contacts from my laptop PC. I've played the two games that came with it and downloaded trials of other games. I've entered appointments on the calendar. It has so many features that I have yet to explore! Next I want to download some music to an SD card and use the iPAQ to listen to it while traveling. It'll be a great "toy" to take along on my retirement vacation next month.
(The documentation could be better; I knew I needed to align the touch screen, but it took me a long time to find how to do it, since "align" wasn't indexed.) Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great for School Wednesday, February 27, 2008 Matt from Chicago, IL
I've only had this for a couple weeks but so far I really enjoy it. Very easy to use interface and it's so easy to find software all around the internet. The WiFi access is amazing, I haven't got the bluetooth to work with my phone yet but according to blogs I need to add a $60/month feature to use it(Verizon). I also haven't found a way to enter contacts on my computer and then sync it to my Ipaq, but it seems odd there wouldn't be anyway to do that. Was this review helpful?

Easy purchase process, quick delivery, no problems with the product. It works well and is just what I expected. It has lots of memory, fast processor, and it's light weight. Having worked with several other iPaq models, this one is my favorite. For the money, the 110/111 is the best. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Great product Monday, February 18, 2008 A Customer from st. Joseph missouri
This product is a great buy,the only thing i dont like is the battery life. I love the fact that it has wifi and office i am a college student and it is great for notes. It also makes a great mp3 player I use a 4GB HCSD card which this product supports very well. I highly suggest this PDA!!!! Was this review helpful?

this is real good. I thought it was going to be much harder to use but it isn't. You just gotta take your time to look over a few stuff. This is my 1st time buying a handheld device so it wasn't too bad for me. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Made the switch from Palm TX and glad I did. Friday, January 18, 2008 A Customer from Jacksonville, FL
This is my first PDA that uses Windows. I have had a few Palm's in the past and have run into problems with the support. Once they finally got my Palm TX replaced I decided that I never wanted to have to deal with their poor support again, so I put the TX on eBay and bought the Ipaq 111.
I have been happy with the purchase. The unit has a good overall performance and the battery life is very good. I have a 2GB SD card installed and loaded about 450 MP3's on the card. I was able to use the Ipaq for about 10 hours of continuous playback before the battery was depleted to about 10%. I also read a number of positive reviews on this device that helped me decide on this item. Wireless performs very well. I like the fact that the radio is 802.11 b/g and not just b. It also allows for configuring the higher WPA2 level of security. Palm requires an additional software purchase for this functionality.
The only thing that I would change is to increase the resolution. It would be nice if it had a higher resolution for viewing spreadsheets and such.
Overall, a very good unit and I would highly recommend over the comparably priced Palm TX.

The HP Ipaq 111 has proven to be an excellent replacement for my broken X50v. It is much smaller and lighter (3.7 vice 6.7 ozs) and the 3.5" screen has excellent contrast and brightness. Windows Mobile 6 has proven to be completely compatible with all of my 3rd party applications. I use the Ipaq as a notebook replacement when I'm either on the road or away from my desk. I find it an excellent support tool for GTD with Outlook, SBSH Pocketbreeze and Pocket Mindmap. Was this review helpful?
