5 of 5 Affordable, convenient, easy to use, 64-bit Sunday, August 24, 2008 A Customer from Tucson, AZ
I had an older similar Canon, satisfied. I upgraded to a Vista 64-bit computer, old scanner did not supported it. This does it.
It is very affordable, conveniently small, and easy to use for simple, not heavy use. Scann quality very good. Ease of use isexcellent. Lots of software, direct buttons to produce pdf documents, etc. No problem to install it.
Great value for the money

5 of 5 Easy to use! Tuesday, June 24, 2008 A Customer from Hartford, CT
I bought the scanner for a technologically-challenged friend. It was easy to set up and even easier to use. I changed the buttons to have the settings he wanted. He emails images for the most part. He was so pleased that all he has to do is to push a button and the image is automatically attached to the e-mail. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Very good basic scanner Sunday, June 22, 2008 mz from Cupertino, CA
This is a great little scanner. Image quality is good, performance is good (but only if you connect it to a USB 2.0 port) and it has been trouble-free so far.
I especially like the little stand that allows the scanner to stand vertically; that saves a lot of desk space.
The only thing I'm not impressed with is the interface software, but given that I'm a Mac user, my standards are pretty high. And it's not bad...just kind of clunky.
Overall...recommended. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Simple, Affordable, Portable Scanning Wednesday, March 05, 2008 E Smith from Norwalk, CT
Since I have networked printers and network hard drive storage at home, I was initially looking for a networked scanner too. The only ones I could find that were within an affordable range for home use were All-in-one printers. I didn't need anything else besides the scanner. The sheet feeders seemed like they would be great, but since most of my scanning use is for receipts and photos, I decided to go back to a flatbed scanner. As soon as I saw that this one ran off of USB power - I was sold! I checked some reviews, which said the lowest priced model was too slow, so I got this one. It works great. Easy to set up and use. Good quality on the images, and I can plug it into any of my computers at home and just go! Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 Not made for scanning photos for web Tuesday, February 19, 2008 A Customer from east hampton ny
I was looking for a replacement for 8 year Epson scanner and this isn't it. Setting the scanner to 150 dpi produces terrible results. your need to scan upwards 300 dpi to use and load photoshop and reduce. I would pass this scanner up if this is what you would use it for. Was this review helpful?

The Canon scanner I purchased recently is a good one. It's compact, light and easy to install and use. The picture quality is excellent. It is a great value. My only complaint is that the USB cord was too short, and I had to purchase a USB extension cord. My suggestion to Canon is to offer a longer cord at a somewhat higher overall price....a menu approach. Was this review helpful?

I got this to replace an earlier model of the same which finally failed. Had to call Canon to find out how, without also opening their photo progoram, to get to the screens for full control over scanning (graphic brightness adjustments, etc), since the help files didn't give a clue. Copying to a printer is funny in that it doesn't print anything until all pages are scanned - awkward if having to rescan some. Also it will sometimes leave a faint red line down the page when doing a color scan, unpredicable where the line will be. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 The Operative Word is Easy Sunday, December 09, 2007 buycom from Garland, Texas
Easy on your budget.
Easy to install.
Easy to use.
I have always used more expensive scanners, but when I saw this one I decided that if it did most of what it claimed then it was a value buy.
I was surprised at what a buy it turned out to be. Great quality. Lot of good software comes with the product.
I have used HP scanners but will never buy another one as their customer support has deteriorated over the years. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 a WinVista64 must (forced) buy Wednesday, November 28, 2007 Ken from Vancouver, WA
i had a perfectly good Canon Lide 50, but when i bought WinVista 64, there were, and still are no drivers.
i feel this is canons fault, not Microsoft. They, canon, sold another scanner. Was this review helpful?
