5 of 5 Just what I needed . . . Sunday, March 01, 2009
A Customer from Northbridge, MA
This remote isn't the most advanced RF-capable remote you've ever encountered, but does all the basics well, and seems to function as advertised. MACROs work if you program them with some patience, and while It's not one of the high-end Harmony's (or whatever), for the price was exactly what I needed.

4 of 5 Will do what you want, maybe a bit tough to set up Tuesday, November 04, 2008
A Customer from AA, MI
This is a fantastic buy; a 10 component programmable remote with RF/optical extender. The only possible drawback is that the programming is a bit clumsy. plus: Can set up macros with delays, and that include page setups - that is, changing from one component to another minus: Cannot store setup, or review macros once setup. Also cannot move soft keys, need to reprogram and re-label keys to accomplish. You end up with standard soft key settings as a starting point that may or may not line up with your preferences.

5 of 5 Best remote ever Friday, October 10, 2008

For the price of this remote, you get everything and then some. Trust me, this baby works and you don't even have to break the bank.

5 of 5 Replaced all but one - good value Tuesday, July 15, 2008
A Customer from GA
This is one of those great gadgets that meets your overall goal very well. Worked well for most of my components, with the pre-programmed codes - although, I had to use the learning method for my Sony Blu-ray player. One other draw-back, although an RF remote, it does not support traditional RF components like an older Bose lifestyle system. I am now down from 6 to 1 remote for everyday entertainment and 2 for home theatre experience. I am very much satisfied with the preformance, easy of use and high configurability. Great product.

5 of 5 Ideal problem solver Monday, July 14, 2008
A Customer from Racine WI
I work in the AV industry and I recommend this remote to customers almost daily. This is a great Rf solution for individual components. Its a little hard to operate with all in one systems sometimes because of non discrete codes. But for the price point you can't go wrong. A++ product!!

5 of 5 Does it all! Monday, May 26, 2008
Tim from Manchester, NH
I was seriously considering a MUCH more expensive solution, but this was recommended to me by a friend. What a value, is an amazing learning universal remote, but the RF receiver turns it into a much more versatile product. 5 minutes out of the box I had it working with my new Sharp AQUOS HD LCD, 30 minutes later the RF receiver was setup and using most of the great features. Easy to use, less expensive than other solutions, great product, thanks Buy.com!

5 of 5 Great remote, unbeatable value Friday, March 28, 2008
BMR from MA
This is a great remote. Looks good too and has good weight to it and feels very solid. Setup takes a little bit of thought as it's fully customizable. Start with using the preprogrammed function and then customize to your liking. Once it's set-up, it's completely self-explanatory. RF function is great and works perfect if you want to hide the clutter in a cabinet or next door room. To get the same functionality you spend at least 5 times the money for a Logitech remote. Save the money and get a great DVD player or something else for your system...

5 of 5 RFS200 Good Value Sunday, March 09, 2008
A Customer from Houston, TX
Bought because I needed the blaster and the price was great. Unit works to my great satisfaction; IR is so strong, I have not yet installed the RF receiver. The manual can be a little confusing on some of the macro setups but you can get there. The one slight negative is that the red backlight is actually a little dim. Does use AAA's, wish it was AA's. Overall, a great unit as a step above a basic universal remote. I have had several URC units and they all work well - would generally recommend URC.

5 of 5 Works great Monday, February 04, 2008
gleapman from Golden, CO
Agree with the other positive reviews. Very flexible - handled 98% of the functionality we needed (and we found a satisfactory workaround for the other 2%). The "learning" functionality is easy to use. Be sure to implement all the pre-programmed functions for the major components (using the codes) before doing the learning and macros stuff or you may find yourself resetting everything and starting all over. Had two questions for customer service via email and received a very prompt and complete response. The IR is very strong - no moving the remote around trying to get the target component to respond. (This was an issue with the Comcast cablebox remote, which is one we replaced.) Just did a small test with the RF and it seems ok (although you need to be pretty precise in positioning the flashers). We were concerned that using the IR for the cablebox in one room might trigger the cablebox near the PowerBlaster in a nearby room, but our initial testing found that was not a problem as long as we have the PowerBlaster behind the components and use the "flasher" extensions. Besides the great price and functionality, we chose this item because the layout of the remote is similar to our Comcast cablebox remote and our other TV remotes, especially with the positioning and feel of the volume and channel controls. (So, no "reprogramming" of the user is required.) Also, other products we considered have the number keypad (for changing channels) all the way at the bottom of the unit, which seems awkward to use. Plan on buying a few more of these remotes.

5 of 5 Down to one remote Wednesday, January 09, 2008
A Customer from Roxbury, NY
This is replacing an Onkyo learning remote that came with my receiver. The RF-20 is almost perfection. It takes reading the book and keeping it nearby for awhile until you get the hang of teaching the remote commands and functions but a few weeks later, I 've got it all set up and if I do want to make a change, I can do it without the book. You have almost unlimited macros so you can set one macro to turn off the cd player or another macro to switch from the cd player back to the tv. As many as you like. I started off with the pre-programmed codes for my equipment, but then did some customizing using the learning functions. My DVR (Pioneer) didn't work with a pre-programmed code, but it didn't take long to learn the necessary commands. Then there's customer service. I have called 3 times to ask questions about specific equipment or functions. Service is fast, friendly and very knowledgable. I spoke with the same man each time and complimented him each time on the product and the service. The remote is so ergonomic. It fits in your hand beautifully and the keys are all grouped to make it easy to get used to hitting a button without looking first. Although the backlight is a bit dim, its fine when using in a theatre type lighting and the light button being on the side away from all the other buttons makes it easy to find. I am thrilled with this product. The RF works perfectly and I don't have to worry about pointing the remote even through longer macros. Just press a button, set it down and the macro runs. Possibly if you're not tech enough to program the macros you want you should stick with a Harmony but if you know what your're doing this is much better way to go as the ergonomics beats the Harmony all over. I recommend the RF models because not having to worry about pointing the remote makes the macros foolproof.

5 of 5 Perfect Remote Saturday, November 10, 2007
A Customer from Christiansbur, VA
This has got to be the perfect remote control unit I have ever used and I have had many remote control units. I can finally control every unit that I have with this one remote control. It is pre programed for most everything but even if an item isn't working the way you want just go to the learn feature and teach it what to do. Plenty of memory so you don't run out of room in the memory to store all of the functions that are needed. One button power on and off, switch between VCR and DVD with the touch of a button. The nicest feature of all is that with the remote blaster you don't have to point the remote or worry about something being in the way. I can have the radio playing and control the volume from another room.
