I have not had this machine long enough to practice all its features. Though I have always been a fan of another long known brand name sewing machine, I'm LIKING this Brother sewing machine. It's light-weight; I like the reverse lever feature; most applications are dialed - you don't have to constantly change attachments for normal clothing/sewing projects. It has a smooth and easy feed. My problems were with the operation manual and diagram. The operation manual needs to be completely redesigned and can be even with it written in several languages. I have sticky notes all over the place to mark pertinent threading and bobbin winding instructions. The diagram to me was so confusing my eyes "glazed over." The good news is with just a few instructions it's easy to just figure it out on your own. The attachments compartment needs rethinking. When I found it, all the attachments just fell out! Thank you Buy.com. I started out looking for your sales on flash drives and instead, I found a sale on this Brother sewing machine. A good stimulous for your economy and a happy addition to my household. My need vs. want came together. The price was right. Was this review helpful?

The needle threader is very handy, especially for those who have trouble seeing. The front drop in bobbin is also nice. Threading is very simple with illustrated directions right on the machine. The machine is not as quiet as my previous machine. Sounds a bit "klunky" -- but sews very well. Was this review helpful?

This is my very first sewing machine and it was so easy to get started. I'm making a quilt for myself - with the help of my mother-in law, but I needled and threaded it all by myself. After a day with her, I’m on my own. Was this review helpful?
