Yep, this is it - take your gaming, movie watching, or American Idoling to the next level with this puppie. I have been blown away by the quality of this display - HDTV and XBOX360 have never looked so good. I've taken the performance rating down a hair - only because this tv has a little bit of a low response rate - there is a bit of ghosting when there are camera pans or quick moving objects on screen. I've also taken the ease of use down just one level - this is because the TV has most of the adjustments you come to expect at hand - but not all. One thing that is missing, or is buried somewhere where I haven't found it yet, is any sort of tracking or v position control. There doesn't seem to be any h position control either for that matter. If I've missed it, then there is still a point to be deducted here since I've poured through manual, gone through the menu 20 times and looked at all available controls.. to no avail. It shouldn't be this tough to find these standard controls. The reason why i've looked for the V position control is that the image out of the box seems just a hair too low - causing a bit of image interference at the very top. It is minor, and only occasionally obvious. To sum up - this is the sweet spot. I've read all the reviews, and this is the best 1080p tv at this price point. Get one!

Good picture, etc, etc. Pretty comparable screen to others on the market, especially for 1080p users. But for integration with normal television (non-HD), it's awful. Main reason is that there is no "zoom" functionality, so the ONLY way to watch non-stretched video at full screen is to feed it an HD source or use a DVD player that delivers 16:9 programming. As for standard definition stuff (which is still the vast majority of programming), you are stuck 2 choices: horribly stretched video or 2 black bars on either side of your programming. And if you have a standard-def TiVo (like me), then you can never watch anything you record at full screen (even 16:9 programming). That's because 16:9 (widescreen) programming cannot be zoomed proportionally to fit the screen, it can only be "stretched" horizontally to fit the screen... very lame.

I was hesitant about purchasing a monitor online, but am very pleased with the Westinghouse. Great picture, even with a 480p output DVD player. I can't wait to see what it does with a better upconverting player (I have a Samsung 1080p upconverting player on order). Easy to use with an input source auto detect feature. Great antiglare coating on the screen. Great monitor for the money!

I purchased this unit several months ago and now I'm buying another one. The picture quality is excellent. The contrast is also excellent. Unlike my plasma, the blacks here are very black with no afterglo or wash out. I don't need an on board tuner since I have to use an HD cable box anyway, so why pay for a tuner I won't even use. I also love the way the unit looks. This is a great LCD for a great price.
